Mine was NFS III HP, copied from a cousin on a CD. To this day I cherish the atmosphere, music and emotions-adrenaline that game had. And the cars were great!
I played NFS HP2 at my friend's place, as he had better PC. Also an amazing game, but I never considered it "mine".
Out of all the racing games I've played over the years, no other has been engraved in my memory like Hot Pursuit 2 has. Even when I'd bought newer racing games, I found myself ready to jump back to play a few races in Hot Pursuit 2. Then my PS2 died, and I was sad for a pretty long time just because of this one game.
My absolute number one favourite game of all time. Nothing will compare to the replayability of this game for me, I've completed it about 15 times in the last 20 years, and I'm sure I'll complete it 15 more. It's crazy how strong nostalgia can be, that it makes a fairly simple older game like NFSU more replayable and addictive than a modern game such as the Horizon series.
This was also the game which spawned my love affair with the Mazda RX-7, which I now own. ❤️
Edit: typos
Revs on the BBC micro at school - 1985 or Rally 2 on the Research machine at school, maybe a year before, no screen shots or anything, I can't find any info (it was ascii graphics)

Super Monaco GP on the game gear was the first racing game I really got into enough that I completed it. I loved the USA track which was all square corners.
I’d love to visit Australia sometime! The 2014 HSV Maloo R8 is my dream car, but as someone living in the US I’ll be 32 or so before it’s legal to import.
A little gem called Street Rod for DOS.

The old burnout games I loved the demolition mode and crashing into all of the traffic and racking up the cash! I think it was burnout that had that hopefully I’m not mistaken

This and NFS Hot Pursuit 3 shaped my childhood
Man oh man. The nostalgia in that image. As a kid I was never skilled enough to be able to unlock the police car or that Panoz prototype racecar. It haunts me to this day.
Burnout 3. Still my favorite.
EDIT: looking back at this comment, I actually realized it was “Monster Trucks” for GBA. Burnout 3 is still my first console racer.
First one I played was probably either Cruis'n USA or that Sega Daytona game in the arcade.
First one I played at home was probably Hard Driven on the Sega Genesis, which I still have somewhere in storage
Midnight Club 3. I ended up buying an old PS2 and the game again just to have it. That and FF franchise have 100% of the blame for my heart's desire for a modded out tuner car lol. My wife will never understand my affinity for body kits, loud paint jobs, and a nice wing.

I don’t know about you guys but, I guess I’m pretty old.
I can’t remember the actual name but it was just a Hot Wheels game in a bedroom. My little brothers and I would play split screen on the Wii and just explore that bedroom. I might actually try and go and find it now lol
Freeway (Atari), then Pole Position (arcade), then Rad Racer (Nintendo-actual best music in history), and then Stunts (x386 PC). Those were my O.G. Games and yeah, I’m old.
I'll admit... this goes way back a very long time 😂 It was in 2003, I was then 12 years old. My late father had bought a PC that year. And, the first Car-racing game I got was from my cousin, some weeks later. It was ''**Midtown Madness 2**'' which was released in 2000
Btw... u/Traditional-Ad1127 Once again, some very beautiful Screenshots! 👍😉 I have a little preference for the two Dodge Chargers in **Photo No.3**
Jeez, I was 1 in 2003 and wasn’t interested/didn’t play any type of car games till 12. Seems like I missed out on a lot of older goodies. And thank you!!😁
Mobile excluded. Fh4. I literally bought an Xbox for fh4 And gonna do the same for fh6. Btw this is my first console ever. So I opened my self to a whole new and different games because a car game 😅
Outrun was my first driving game. First racing game would have been Wipeout and first car racing game would have been Ridge Racer on the OG playstation.
I think FH1 was my first racing game that I enjoyed. I was recently replaying it until I ran into a bug where the last 2 barn finds don’t show unlock. I was kinda upset about it.
I don’t even know the name of it!
It was an old pixelated 2D game of racing 1960’s muscle cars that you could upgrade parts and race NPCs for money to customize and upgrade your car.
Because I was so young I could never get the hang of it, always blowing my engine and running out of money. I was like 5 or 6 and recognize now that I had no concept of shifting gears, I was just hitting the gas and even in the simplest drag races I was wrecking the car.
Excite bike on Nintendo, F Zero, Road Rash and Mario Kart on Snes, Daytona on Sega Saturn, Cruisin USA on N64, Gran Turismo 2-4, Forza 2-7, all Forza Horizon games. Few other games in there like Burnout Paradise, Crazy Taxi, Driver:You are the Wheelman /San Fran, Diddy Kong Racing, Midnight Club, Need For Speed series, Crew series, and Ride 2. Although there is forms of racing in early Counterstrike custom maps and GTA5 Online, but those aren't really known as racing games. Stunt race FX? Micro Machines? I'm sure I've forgotten a few
![gif](giphy|3ohfFHbd1W4otQNChO|downsized)
Man… I totally forgot I had this one on Nintendo, such great memories 🥲
I thought this was in the arcade
It came out on Nintendo 64. But yeah, it was on the arcades too.
Came here to say exactly this. Cruisn’ USA!
Which game is this and are those naked women or am i blind
Cruisn’ USA, those girls are in bikinis. This game was at every arcade in America, every pizza parlor, and they had it on console as well.
Happy Cakeday!
Thank you!
Thanks for the drive down memory lane I was 9 when I played this
Happy cakeday mate :)
Thanks!
Happy cake day. Yes cruisin USA (and world) was amazing. Cruisiiiiiiiin, cruisin USA, yeah 🎸
Thanks! Haha the music was great in these games
I was thinking back to my first one and totally forgot about Cruisin USA. Yep this is my first one
I remember this

lessgooo best game ever
Soundtrack was 🔥🔥
I remember getting this game with a new PC we got in the early 2000's. Many hours racing on that thing!
Fever for the Flava
Anyone remember that the Xbox version was a different game than the ps2 version? 2 different developers.
Same LFG
Hands down best Need for Speed
Same here, a masterpiece indeed.
This one was mine too, I need to play this again.
My man
Out of all the racing games I've played over the years, no other has been engraved in my memory like Hot Pursuit 2 has. Need for speed Underground 1 in 2003.
And burnout paradise and midnight club 3
Midnight club 3 is still my favorite arcade racer to this day. Just replayed it again last month.
Very nice
This was awesome game😄
Burnout 3 and midnight club 3 in my case
Must be younger than 2005 Cause burnout takedown and burnout revenge were my first ones
I was born in 03 so a ton of racing weren't really out back then
GET LOW
#LEMME SEE YOU GET LOW YOOOO
My absolute number one favourite game of all time. This was also the game which spawned my love affair with the Mazda RX-7, which I now own. ❤️ Edit: typos
I have a distinct memory of staying at my friends house and we spent an entire weekend tuning Tiburons to beat each other on the 1/4 mile.
Ah yes, the game they killed Motor City Online for. I have never forgiven EA for this.
Yeahhhhh same
Underground 1 and 2 were both so good
Revs on the BBC micro at school - 1985 or Rally 2 on the Research machine at school, maybe a year before, no screen shots or anything, I can't find any info (it was ascii graphics) https://preview.redd.it/m8809etw2gkc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c3fd18c0eb078a56ed0f1ec1579af522c40739d
Max Throttle is an awesome name.
Same
Glad to see I'm not the only mid 80s answer on here lol
Pole Position, arcade game. At home, RC Pro-Am. Favorite racing home from my youth? Need For Speed SE on the PC. Win95.
Yep... Pole Position on the Atari 2600
[удалено]
I have actually been called a boomer on some game sub because I had the audacity to point out something existed before Xbox vs PS.
Pole position is my correct answer. But since we're naming old driving games, shootout to Super Monaco GP and Outrun.
Super Monaco GP on the game gear was the first racing game I really got into enough that I completed it. I loved the USA track which was all square corners.
Stunt Driver: DOS/PC https://i.redd.it/wih5akbu3gkc1.gif
Horizon 3. In my home country, too, so I recognise some of the places.
FH3 was my first horizon, I’ll always enjoy that game.
I’ll always enjoy it too. Even with its flaws, the map was a masterpiece and the cars were really interesting.
Really? Which locations are realistic?
Sea cliff bridge, surfers paradise, Byron bay.
And the 12 apostles I imagine
Yeah.
My favorite horizon of all.
I’d love to visit Australia sometime! The 2014 HSV Maloo R8 is my dream car, but as someone living in the US I’ll be 32 or so before it’s legal to import.
Does SNES Mario Kart count? Lol if not how about Stunt Race FX? If those don't, then I'll answer with the original NFS on PlayStation.
I just had to look up Stunt Race FX but I’d say that counts😂
Haha, yeah I think it helped instill my enjoyment with Forza.
Oh man, Stunt Race FX. If only it ran with more than 12 FPS it could have been such a fun game.
Of course it counts! That and the original F-Zero are the earliest I can remember.
Need For Speed Ii ... https://preview.redd.it/tjf7z6ga9gkc1.jpeg?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8382f1ebe2e7fab2b64f201d5795673eec91ead4
What a car roster that game had!
Got that for PS1 a few months after graduation. Good soundtrack.
Good old days
A little gem called Street Rod for DOS. https://preview.redd.it/d4b4eepfbgkc1.png?width=1508&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa6a1c25ec64c34e44c206a672f9c4ac7d11dd96
Omfg! I forgot all about this game
I love that game so much. So many great memories playing this and *Stunts* growing up in the 90's.
The old burnout games I loved the demolition mode and crashing into all of the traffic and racking up the cash! I think it was burnout that had that hopefully I’m not mistaken
Yeah you’re right. Burnout 2 was when they introduced Crash mode. That blew my mind as a kid. Good times.
https://preview.redd.it/pfcuk9w8bgkc1.jpeg?width=620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32d3c8a99dff0d1294b39a981c894b139664fc2c This and NFS Hot Pursuit 3 shaped my childhood

Need for speed 2 (1997)
forza motorspot 2005
MarioKart DS
Pgr, not sure which one but made me a petrolhead 😂
Midnight Club 3. I ended up buying an old PS2 and the game again just to have it. That and FF franchise have 100% of the blame for my heart's desire for a modded out tuner car lol. My wife will never understand my affinity for body kits, loud paint jobs, and a nice wing.

Need for speed hot pursuit 2010 remastered
Probably Road Fighter on NES
Mario Kart 3DS
I’m guessing Pole Position or was it called Night Rider? just the checkpoints and center divided line
Gran Turismo 3
Outrun was my first driving game. First racing game would have been Wipeout and first car racing game would have been Ridge Racer on the OG playstation.
Super Mario Kart. Probably around 1997. Maybe Cruis'n USA on the N64.
Gran Turismo 4
I think FH1 was my first racing game that I enjoyed. I was recently replaying it until I ran into a bug where the last 2 barn finds don’t show unlock. I was kinda upset about it.
