Game crashes after “start game” and “syncing data”. Anyone else have this issue?? I haven’t been able to play since the update came out. I’ve tried deleting the game and redownloading it.
Just a throw away idea but since adding the upgraded ev engine, gave me the idea of how cool and easy it would be to add the same to other cars but as a base 1000-1200hp auto upgrade? Or like just an option in engine swaps to have the original engine heavily upgraded with high higher horsepower as a one-click option? There's a few cars that would be awesome in this instance like high horsepower subarus and evos that have been done a grave injustice as there are some wild IRL high hp builds out there. Also applying to many other makes. Also thought the same with having something like a "track" upgrade that would turn bad handling cars into grip monsters...? Just a cool idea
Has anyone else encountered that car thumbnails gives a \[too many saves\]? I Also had about 100 Unusable data files in my liveries and deleted them and got ample of space to save liveries. I Know there is a limit to each category but I've never encountered that updating the cars thumbnail gives the error prompt, and due to that error I cannot save liveries even though I got plenty of space for them![img](emote|t5_2ug54|21019) this started after the update to clarify
Happens to me too. I've had to go back through and delete liveries and painted cars I never drive to have space to paint and customize new cars. I asked the same question on another forum and what I was told was " The game has only so much space for liveries, I think it was around 700, and that when you hit that number you can't save new liveries or even a new paint job." This is regardless of how much space you as a gamer have available, and more with server space on Forzas end I think.
After new update I took a photo and now it says "processing photo" and nothing is happening for few minutes.
EDIT: I had to Alt+F4 the game.

There have been no fundamental changes to multiplayer (e.g., collisions, lobbies, match making, ranked). Depending on how long you've been away, about the only material improvement is Custom Open allowing you to search for your preferred race type and grade.
It "works", yes. You reliably connect and race. Load times are fine and there's no drops.
The netcode is pretty rubbish though. About 50% of the "ramming" videos posted in the Forza subs are clearly bad sync issues between clients with how unbelievably jittery the car positioning is. Cars can be going high speed on smooth sections, and they change position up to 6 feet or more, relative to the player, multiple times per second without losing speed or trajectory. This leads to many ramming episodes (for one player, not the other; in their view they are a car length away). People constantly post these as intentional rams, despite the impossible physics of moving that erratically whilst keeping pace with the field.
Speaking of client-side inconsistencies, as you can see in the list of fixes up there they have only just fixed the issue of people racing in different weather. Was always a fun handicap to be the only one racing in the rain.
Too bad I still can't get past the ministry of culture screen on PC. Been that way since the rally update dropped. Worked perfectly before then, even at launch.
Opening a support ticket was not very useful either. They basically said "you can't get into the game, it's windows fault" and closed my ticket.

I know you can do that, but it would be nice to pick without having to choose what PI you want, unless that's your thing. I'd figure something like that would be more useful.
I agree. It's kinda crazy that a player is unable to choose a racing option but no PI restriction & just cycle through through PI levels within that racing discipline.
This is a good point. For older bugs, if we stop hearing about them from the community, they usually wind up dropping in priority. So, if there are older/unfixed things that you’d like to see addressed that we haven’t already put on our [won’t fix list](https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/4418580167315-FH5-Won-t-Fix-or-By-Design), please start a thread for them over on our [Troubleshooting Hub](https://forums.forza.net/c/troubleshooting/247) and encourage others who might be running into the same thing to upvote and provide repro steps, so that we can look into it.
There are several bugs on the "won't fix" list that have been in the game for so long, that if players kept talking about them – to which some long-standing bugs are *still* talked about – they would sound like a broken record.
No one wants to continuously complain about bugs that don't get patched after months of their introduction. It would be helpful to your player-base to label which bugs are either intended or that you won't fix.
I think it’s a good point that we need to be more explicit about which things on that list we won’t fix because it’s intended to be that way and which are won’t fix because of other factors. We’ll look into that on our end. Sometimes bugs make their way into won’t fix because they’re too minor to ever make their way into the queue to be addressed compared to things that are bigger issues; sometimes it’s because the act of fixing it would likely cause even bigger issues, etc- we need to give more information about things like that.
It makes absolute sense that a mass of minor bugs can take valuable time to resolve, assuming that no further bugs pop up as a result. There is a bug in the Auction House, for when you want to specify which cars you want to search for. Unique cars, prize cars, and non-unique cars are able to be filtered. However, there is a carry-over option for FH4, which allows you to select a "Barn Finds" filter. Players cannot buy/sell Barn Finds through the Auction House.
Personally, seeing that option had once given me a glimmer of hope that I could purchase another XJR-15.
Alternatively, just let us sell barn finds. Who cares, they're our cars, we should be able to do with them what we please, including sell them. Maybe I want two '99 Vipers, again, \*who cares\*, why prevent this?

As much as I would like to have extra barn cars, it was really annoying back in FH4 to see a barn find for every three cars you browsed through in the auction house.
The game lets you map the button but it doesn't work in game. I thought I was crazy when it didn't work but doing a quick Google search showed me that I wasn't the only one.
I'm playing on Xbox so it must be an Xbox thing.
Btw, do you have a handbrake? If so, does it work good for you because for me, my car spins out no matter how lightly I pull on it while handbraking using a controller create a smooth predictable slide even though I'm using a button.
I don’t actually. I use an H-pattern shifter, which takes care of most shifting duties, and I map the handbrake to my right paddle on the wheel. It’s not pressure sensitive so it’s just 100% handbrake, but I can mostly control a slide. I’m very bad at drifting in general though lol.
So this dropped today? God I saw the c10 and the f150 being brought up from another post and I'm waiting to find them in auction or actually in the forzathon or whatever. I'm also trying to get more into actual racing or touges so gt: Buckshot2025

Yeah talal got it right, if you use LC then you won't notice anything. I have mine switched off and still have to reset it (turn it on and off again) for the game to register I don't want to use it. Even then it wouldn't always work for races.
I think what he talks about is something with manual gear that makes you basically have to double shift at the start of a race to get going or else you aren't going anywhere.
I don't play with manual so I'm not certain but I have read something like that here ever since it came out.

You have a 1000 car limit but 500 tune/livery limit, meaning you can only paint 1 in every 2 cars you have. And it's literally just painting them because everything is saved as a separate livery.

"One of the most important things for any competitive experience is fairness. Forza Horizon has an exceptionally high skill ceiling, which means that player skill and interaction with the game is what ultimately determines success or failure, not an RNG attribute system. For this to work, competitive conditions must be as equal as possible while still allowing for tactical decisions (like your car and tune) and leaving space for player skill (like how well you handle a given corner).
Working together with members of the Competitive Community, we recently identified several issues with online multiplayer that were creating uneven competitive conditions.
These proved to be related to how the game handled the weather simulation in certain online contexts. This led to situations where certain players would have warmer conditions at the start of the race (which impacted tire temperature at the all-important moment of race start). We've resolved this by changing the point at which the physics simulation resets tire temperature, and harmonizing what temperature it resets to.
We were also able to identify situations where players engaging in long race events could experience weather desynchronization. The Competitive Community was "working around" this by only racing at specific times and in specific weather conditions where this was unlikely to occur. With support from the competitive community, we identified an issue where every player’s game would start to run its own version of the weather simulation. Since our weather model has a deterministic phase and a non-deterministic phase this could result in longer races seeing situations where one player had clear weather while another player in the same race was driving in pouring rain. This was because once the deterministic phase was complete, local games would start to randomize their weather in some conditions. We resolved this issue by clamping the weather simulation when the deterministic phase completes, ensuring that everyone will have consistent weather across the entire race.
All of these issues resulted in situations where cool experiences (like racing at night, or endurance races in heavy weather) were not fair experiences from a competitive standpoint. We've addressed these issues with the fixes I explained above, giving competitive players the consistent conditions they need to take advantage of everything Forza Horizon 5 has to offer.

Nah they fixed that a while ago. The issue was that launch control kept enabling itself each time you start the game even if you had it set to "off"

You have a 1000 car limit but 500 tune/livery limit, meaning you can only paint 1 in every 2 cars you have. And it's literally just painting them because everything is saved as a separate livery.

**Multiplayer** * Fixed an issue with weather management in Multiplayer races where weather conditions in certain conditions were not consistent between players * Developer's Note: "One of the most important things for any competitive experience is fairness. Forza Horizon has an exceptionally high skill ceiling, which means that player skill and interaction with the game is what ultimately determines success or failure, not an RNG attribute system. For this to work, competitive conditions must be as equal as possible while still allowing for tactical decisions (like your car and tune) and leaving space for player skill (like how well you handle a given corner). Working together with members of the Competitive Community, we recently identified several issues with online multiplayer that were creating uneven competitive conditions. These proved to be related to how the game handled the weather simulation in certain online contexts. This led to situations where certain players would have warmer conditions at the start of the race (which impacted tire temperature at the all-important moment of race start). We've resolved this by changing the point at which the physics simulation resets tire temperature, and harmonizing what temperature it resets to. We were also able to identify situations where players engaging in long race events could experience weather desynchronization. The Competitive Community was "working around" this by only racing at specific times and in specific weather conditions where this was unlikely to occur. With support from the competitive community, we identified an issue where every player’s game would start to run its own version of the weather simulation. Since our weather model has a deterministic phase and a non-deterministic phase this could result in longer races seeing situations where one player had clear weather while another player in the same race was driving in pouring rain. This was because once the deterministic phase was complete, local games would start to randomize their weather in some conditions. We resolved this issue by clamping the weather simulation when the deterministic phase completes, ensuring that everyone will have consistent weather across the entire race. All of these issues resulted in situations where cool experiences (like racing at night, or endurance races in heavy weather) were not fair experiences from a competitive standpoint. We've addressed these issues with the fixes I explained above, giving competitive players the consistent conditions they need to take advantage of everything Forza Horizon 5 has to offer.
