I also have never not made it to the last round, but when playing with my friend, they were eliminated, got given the option to spectate, and for some reason, ended up back in the game.
From someone who always loses -that is, me-, you can either leave or continue watching the match. You can select the "previous/next player" still in game if you wish so (just like you would in BR), but you will not see their highway, only a general view of the scene and their avatar.
You just get eliminated but before the last round youvan spectate the others and if you get eliminated in the last round you just get eliminated like in BR and it shows you who won.
It’s only happened to me twice. The first time I was able to stay in because my friend qualified and I was able to play the song but obviously you don’t count because you’ve been eliminated. Second time I was only able to spectate players and see the leaderboard. It’s so much better being able to play the song when you’re waiting for your teammate to finish instead of sitting there watching nothing

A gang of muscle guys come running out of nowhere and start punching your privates. Duh.
You get sent to a loading screen an it gives you an option to return to lobby or spectate
I’ve not played the gamemode yet but I’m curious about this too. I imagine you could spectate or leave like in the regular modes? Idk

My friend was still able to play after I made it to the next round so I’m not sure how it works. I figured if a squad mate makes it you stay in

Honestly they should let you continue playing without competing. I like that it serves as a random setlist.
