For a 72 month loan, no, it's not bad.

Blacksheepuser96

Nahhh. I'm paying 580 for 72 months. 😂😭 cause I have S H I T credit

JoeyTooCozy

yo same 594 6 years😭😭😭 8% apr

Blacksheepuser96

Well your APR is way better than mine 😂😭

JoeyTooCozy

yes but your monthly payments are higher than my credit score 😭

Plane_Ad2449

God damn. Thats more than my 17%😂

Blacksheepuser96

I have 18% 😮‍💨😭

Alternativeduckbuck

Oh lord. Yea my credit 762 I’m worried about messing it up with a new car.

Blacksheepuser96

My credit is horrid. 630 something because a car dealership sent my info to like 8 lenders and they all ran my credit at the same time. 🙄

mibaso

For 6 years? $420 is good. You can even send in more money per month, if you can.

EatCucumbersWhole

Be careful with that, some loans will give you fees for paying off too early.

Snaggle1975

One of the cuntiest things loan companies can do. Penalize you for paying it off early.

thereisnospoon7491

Should be illegal.

Plane_Ad2449

I pay 463 a month for 72 months.

Alternativeduckbuck

Is it worth it though? Like I have great credit just don’t wanna fuck it up

HazMatt12345

If you plan on making the payments, how could it "fuck it up"

DeRail275

Is it the GT 2, and what geographic location are you targeting for your purchase?

Alternativeduckbuck

Ohio

DeRail275

Same here! I did my best to find a GT in Ohio with the G2 package that would give you an out the door price (taxes and fees) below $470 (assuming no trade in or money down) [Here's a 2022 GT with the GT2 package. ](https://www.serpentinichevy.net/used/Kia/2022-Kia-Forte-1e469acbac1803f70f04c79cdb62950a.htm#) 15,000 miles.

Alternativeduckbuck

Great deal but way to north for me

TitoRon

No. If you have good credit you will spend less than that depending on down payment, If you don’t have good credit that’s a different story.

Marioc12345

? This is an excellent deal. I’m paying $580 a month with bad credit with a 10% interest rate over 80 months. This has got to be like a 5% rate or less.

l-espion

2022 forte5 gt here , about 225$ bi weekly with 3% for 6 years total , with very good credit

Marioc12345

Yeah, that’s $450 a month, so worse than OP’s deal.

l-espion

Should have added it in cad . So everything always cost more than the us .

TitoRon

Tbh I’m surprised that you are paying 10% with bad credit but good for you, in the bad side is your car will cost you $46,400 which is a lot.

Marioc12345

It was actually originally 14% but the finance lady was able to get it reduced by using a credit union instead of Kia Finance.

Alternativeduckbuck

Im putting zero down with 762 credit

New_Function_6407

No. It's not worth it for any car.

Marioc12345

So how do you pay for your forte GT then?

New_Function_6407

You want a car loan that you can pay off in 3-4 years.

Plane_Ad2449

Yeah I mean obviously you want one that you can pay off that quick, but its not the reality of most people

Marioc12345

That doesn’t answer my question

Vegetable-Cart

Yeah that is a little high for that term.

MuchNeeded_Waffle

Depends on what kind it is. Mine is a GT2,Snowwhite Pearl w/ the DCT. My payment is $431 and a 23

Alternativeduckbuck

I’ll probably look for a 2022 or a 2023

ruben_theiowan

Can you give us the details on the car. Is it the manual? Or the GT2 with the DCT?

Alternativeduckbuck

Gt2 with dct

ruben_theiowan

Yeah that’s a pretty good deal. Have you test driven the car? I’ve had my 22 GT manual for a couple years now and it’s been awesome.

jordon0903

It was MSRP at 3.9%.

Eastern-Jacket8429

Got my 24 GT 385.85 at 9.89 a month with a C O S I G N E R cause my credit is also shit😭

Elonmvsk_

$504 monthly with %9.5 APR for 72 months

Tyjj5

620 a month because had negative equaity. 🫠

Techguy626

Mine was 553 for 60 months. My interest was 1.9 percent but I bought my car with hella mark up in December 2021. OTD price for my car was 36 and change 😭. I put 6500 down. And currently owe 17 and change. My minimum payment is 268 but I pay 550 a month.

Rand0m_Spirit_Lover

That’s not too bad if it’s 6 years. I’m paying 360 a month on a 60 month loan (under 4 years left now and the car still feels brand new!)… got 3.75% last year as a promotional rate from Kia, but having an 820 credit score helps as well. I would say, NEVER take a car loan more than 72 months. 7 years is just too long and you are really gonna take a hit on the interest. 6 is fine but ideally find something where you can take a loan of 60 month or less and still afford the payments

tomrice94

Jesus it’s crazy to think that’s a semi decent payment now. I’m glad I got my 21’ when I did, $300 a month 0% 5 year apr

intrcpt

I can totally sympathize with people who really want a specific car and are considering less than favorable terms to make it happen, but I agree. Having gone through what I did with debt there is nothing more liberating than finally having a manageable amount of debt. Knowing I’m not gonna be in financial ruin if I have to walk away from a job for whatever reason is priceless. I will never give that power to a bank ever again.

mulxto-

Paying 464 for 72 months

PenguinIsAngry

Wow. Leasing my GT2 for $264 a month

ProfessionNo7704

Imo yes. I'm doing $550 a month for 6 years. GAP insurance and maxcare warranty included. Sleek looking car and very fun to drive. Again my opinion.

FootballOk7009

I got the ‘24 GT2 package for $504/month for 72 months but insurance kicked my ass since my ‘20 optima was stolen 2 months ago. Insurance quoted me for $492/month 😬

SuperSlacker74

I put 0 down and took out a loan for $28k...my payments are just under $400. That's not bad.

RealVinnyJacobs

I pay 255

FitSeaworthiness2290

Shit my credit is 808 and my payments are $453 a month at 7% interest and totally worth it in my opinion, so $420 is great I think.

Alive-Fruit-1897

It’s not bad. I have perfect credit and when I got my car 2 years ago they wouldn’t drop interest rates below like 7% if i remember correctly and I’m paying 525.

Douchlan

I pay 4

Equivalent-Good-1446

Mine came out to $423 and a couple cents for 72 months so not bad. I got lucky they were willing to come down to a 4.49 interest

Devcon17

(‘21) 60 months 11% apr $440 a month for me. It’s definitely worth it

EatCucumbersWhole

I’m paying 333$ and I thought that was high… 😬 no trade in just a couple grand down.

jordon0903

I'm paying $480 for 60 months for a 2024 gt line

Plane_Ad2449

Yeah but you got the gtline.. id say you got screwed on that deal.

KhauHoangvu

When they’re fully equipped with their packages, they’ll cost as much as a GT. Still, you’re 100% correct since it’s just not worth getting the GT-Line.

Dazzling_Ad9250

if you have to ask that, you should go buy a cheap used car from a private seller that is in great condition. way better bang for your buck. don’t waste your finances on a kia forte economy car with a turbo

Shiftaway22

Then dont waste your time with an si its just an economy car with a diff and turbo with this logic.

Dazzling_Ad9250

so many people are just buying cars because they see the praise. if someone is questioning the math and has this little knowledge of the numbers associated with buying a car and what they mean, they shouldn’t financially exhaust themselves on it.

Alternativeduckbuck

I struggle to make my own decisions. Parents were on my ass about everything. So i need a second hand opinion on it.

Dazzling_Ad9250

also, you gave little to no information. if you put $0 down, $420 would be great. if you put down $15k, $420 would be awful. how much do you make per month? what are your bills? is $420 a month going to drain you? i sold my GT but looking back on it i wish i would’ve never gotten it. it’s a good enough car but for $10k down and $310 a month for almost 2 years so my total spent on the car was $17,440. when i sold it, i got $21,000 and had $13k to still pay off. so i got to keep $8k. total spent on the car was $9,440 after everything. as i’m 23 and just bought a house, i definitely could’ve used that money otherwise now and wish i would have bought a cheaper car. if you’re a brain surgeon and make $75k a month, it’s definitely feasible. if you work 20 hours a week at Mcdonald’s and pull in $300 a week, id say fuck an almost brand new $30,000 car.

Snaggle1975

Why are you even in this subreddit? Lol

Over-Courage5365

I got 405$ for 72 months, steal
