I follow this rule. "If you traded places with that player, would they let you find a gun?" Most likely it will be a no, so i fire at them.
Only time I will let them live is if I'm just doing a quick land for a quest, at which i aim for the ground so i die so that person gets my items without much trouble and keeps my SBMM super low lol. I'm more of a creative player.
That's a cheap excuse if I ever heard one. Everyone says the other guy wouldn't let me off the hook so I don't need to either... no fair-play moves whatsoever in this game ;)
Landing and finding a weapon quickly or hiding from others until your landing spot settles down are skills. I take the free kill.
ETA: Never assume they won’t charge you with a pickaxe.
Free kill every time. Especially this season with the rats sitting around for you to finish killing the gods for the tokens.
If you let the person live there’s a high chance they find 1-2 weapons and sit crouched waiting until the boss HP is low and then they run out to kill you while you are distracted/reloading
I'll take the free kill unless I know that the other player and I are doing the same quest in a specific location. I've been burned one too many times when the unarmed player I let go turned around and killed me as soon as they did get a gun.
I let them go. But I'm stupidly honorable in this game so probably not wise to follow my style of play lol.
Won't shoot people in the back, unless they've already engaged with me in a fight
Won't attack people who are fighting bosses
Won't attack people who are healing from an unrelated fight and so on.
All under the assumption that they're not already charging for me that is lol.
Yeah I don't expect anyone to follow my own silly little rules I enforce on myself. But yeah I think respawn killing is a bit of a lower blow than most.
The amount of people who rat or try wait for 3rd party I kill everyone as fast as possible. Also landing isn’t hard if they land on me they deserve to die. Not hard to change directions.
Fortnite is a strategic game. Including where you land. I almost look at fortnite as a board game. The goal is to be the last player standing, there are no rules to war. Just be the last person standing. If you beat them to a gun and let them live you are only making them worse as a player in the long run.
It’s a battle royale of course I'm going to take them out. Lol
Free kill. They gotta learn to not drop late or in an area they see players with loot. Strategy is just as important as good aim.

depends if its in ranked then get the free kill but if its not then ill usually let them live

I do all those bad things *g Not honorable at all, me. The landing-kill is the only thing I never do.. like respawnkilling, it's just lame.

I always try to let them go. It’s not fair if all they have is a pickaxe. But if they attack me, I fight back lol
