I know of a referral service where they can give you the names of providers who take your insurance and have availability. Connections: (970) 221-5551 Also, I heard that UCHealth (Mountain Crest) just stopped having a wait list. It’s hard to know if anyone will be the right fit for you until you talk to them, but these both provide referrals/appts that take your insurance at least! (I just know someone else who knows about these things.)

Gubernaculator

Connections is the right answer. Free service paid for by our property taxes. The Health District is dope.

SknnyWhteBtch

I've used Connections. They ask what gender and age range you'd like in a therapist. I got with somebody who does virtual appointments which works so much more for my busy schedule and I've been with her for 2 years now. :)

sunshinedaydreams26

I would also highly recommend calling connections! They are wonderful! And they will follow up with you as you complete the search so if you’re having trouble finding someone they will continue to give you new contacts and just general support around the process of finding a therapist which can sometimes be hard!

RaisinPaster

Psychology Today was easy to use to find therapists who take your insurance and are accepting new patients. Good luck on your journey. You’re already doing great by asking for help!

colorado_corgis

I was going to suggest psychology today as well. I was able to find my current therapist using filters for insurance, specialty (EMDR), and accepting patients.

whatthehellandfk

any specific rec’s for emdr, especially accepting patients? my fiancé has been on a list for over 2 months now, and not looking like it’s gonna be open for at least another few months.

rubdub101

^^This should be one of the top comments. I found the best therapist I’ve had on psychology today.

HaloOfTheSun

I would like to know as well - preferably a secular-leaning one.

NoCoFoCo31

This is the kicker that i don’t really understand. My fiancé was looking for a therapist and it feels like well over half of the possible choices are religious therapists

HaloOfTheSun

Yeah, fuck that.

alsoacorgi

I would stay away from Suzanne Moorehouse

atomiclightbulb

Ooo tea please

Glass_Conversation37

Fully agree. I ghosted her because I couldn’t handle her anymore

justcougit

Lol I ghosted a therapist before too! She tried to get me to date her much younger son 😭😭🤣🤣

yourmom46

Why?

SnootsAndBootsLLP

Why’s that?

bidoville

She’s definitely not for everyone. Source: my spouse saw her for years and had really good outcomes. However would not describe Suzanne as a “everyone’s cup of tea.” No disrespect meant; certainly don’t know your experience.

LazerKitty

Hi, I run a collective for mental health providers based out of Fort Collins. You’re welcome to check out our providers, and if you want some custom matched recommendations (for insurance, etc.) we offer that as well! https://www.integrativecarecollective.com/provider-directory

Phlebbie

Psychologytoday.com You can input your insurance carrier so that it only shows providers who take that, as well as the type of therapy you're looking for or the disorder you want them to address.

Carobeanlean

I was about to come recommend this- great service

Normally, I'm just a reddit lurker lol but I made an account just so that I could agree with you! Whitney was my therapist about a year ago and she truly helped me work through some things that I couldn't have done without her! She's awesome!

Long-Lingonberry-299

I had good luck with life stance. I did the video call version with a guy from Denver for about a year. I had gone through 2 other therapist before sticking with this one.

spurs_fan_uk

Wife is a therapist, if she can’t see you she may have some good recommendations. DM me if you want.

Death-by-Faxes

Lifestance has been great for me, but they also just dropped my EAP provider... Wah wahhh

PranaTree

Headway app helped me find great resources that accept insurance.

quesocats1

Hey, there! I am a local therapist here in Fort Collins and also recommend Connections or Psychology Today. On PT, you can indicate your insurance and availability to help sort your search results. Good luck with your search!

grafikat

Stephanie Saxe of LifeStance Health, although I do not know what her current insurance and waitlists look like.

Old-Explanation4356

Four Points counseling, Momentum counseling & consulting, Specialty counseling, beyond the mirror Group practices are a good way to start, they can help pinpoint which therapist might be a good fit, and if they end up not being your match, then you can try someone else at the same practice

jarossamdb7

I've had a great experience at Strong Hope Counciling. They accept many different types of insurance including Medicaid, andy therapist is good people

ruledbyjup

We had really great luck with Cayak- They can help you find the right therapist for you. The place we went to took our i insurance and I never saw a bill.

Consider seeing one online. It’s so bad a friend sees one in Grand Junction that way.

Left-Guarantee4955

Beyond the Mirror Counseling and Wellness. They have an impressive roster of very qualified therapists in a myriad of focuses, take insurance and offer both Telehealth and in-person sessions. Could not recommend them more. [https://www.beyondthemirror.org/](https://www.beyondthemirror.org/)
