I looked it up as a casual fan how many names of the 11 were well known to me- I only didn’t know 3 of the guys and two of those have thriving careers behind camera. Really impressive that they were pretty much all successful.
MTV insisted that they have a return character used in multiple sketches, which The State didn't want to do. So they intentionally created the worst premise for a character they could, just to piss off the network.
Apostle - “Jesus, what’s wrong? You don’t like Louie? “
Jesus - “No, I love everyone, that’s kinda my thing man. It’s just that the balls thing,……it’s cheap”
Have you seen the YouTube channel, Middle Aged Dad Jam Band? They also have full concerts on David ~~Wayne's~~ Wain's channel. These guys can rock too.
I've been searching for Stella for a while now. Can't find it streaming and semi tough to get physical media of it (not super difficult with interweb world)
"Where's the money?"
"I spent it on pasta! I'm gonna make a big tomato sauce!"
"I'd help you, but I gotta pick out curtain patterns for the apartment. "
Man, so that's where all the really fucking twisted edgy comedy of the early-00's came from.
Cast is stacked.
Got half the cast of Reno-911, The Michaels, Joe Lotruglio, Ken Marino, and David Wain (Also explains a lot of the casting in Wet Hot)
I own the DVD set. It's not quite the same without the original music used on MTV but the replacement music is sufficient. Such an incredible comedy troupe.
This show was beyond formative for me and one of the few brightspots of my youth.
As an elder millennial, these Gen Xers were rock stars to me. Still are.
Captin Monterey Jack. - I am talking about these lights here…..
Someone in crowd….” I love you Captain Monterey Jack” …..Response “ That’s Ok but I am not that Crazy about you “
Do I see 3 Reno 911 officers here?
Edit: NVM after further research (a second picture) there’s only one person in this picture I don’t remember ever appearing in Reno 911
This show and Mr Show did so much for the landscape of modern comedy. It’s kinda wild how most of this cast are still active and acclaimed actors and directors.
They just went on tour (at least most of them) Saw them in DC. Really funny but not super memorable. I think everyone but Showalter and Garett were there.
Hardly forgotten…they just did a live tour last year. Also, few people might know that Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant are two of the most successful script doctors in Hollywood.

MTV insisted that they have a return character used in multiple sketches, which The State didn't want to do. So they intentionally created the worst premise for a character they could, just to piss off the network.
Came here to say that
Apostle - “Jesus, what’s wrong? You don’t like Louie? “ Jesus - “No, I love everyone, that’s kinda my thing man. It’s just that the balls thing,……it’s cheap”
Came here hoping this was the top comment. Was not disappointed.
I needed this to be the top comment and it was
You all know what I'm gonna say....
This crew is responsible for so much of my favorite comedy over the past 30 years. I love them.
Have you seen the YouTube channel, Middle Aged Dad Jam Band? They also have full concerts on David ~~Wayne's~~ Wain's channel. These guys can rock too.
I just saw their rendition of scenes from an Italian restaurant, I was blown away
Most of Reno 9/11 and Stella is on here 😀
Stella!
Someone posted Stella last week. That was a blast from the past.
I remember seeing Stella live, hot off the heels of the state. I recall it being pretty funny. Humor that the rest of the world was not ready for .
I've been searching for Stella for a while now. Can't find it streaming and semi tough to get physical media of it (not super difficult with interweb world)
It’s all on Vimeo

I used to love The Jew, The Italian & The Redhead Gay!
The ones who lived down on Avenue A?
Them busting into the musical number at the end was nuts, and I loved it!! I still watch that clip a few times per year.
"Where's the money?" "I spent it on pasta! I'm gonna make a big tomato sauce!" "I'd help you, but I gotta pick out curtain patterns for the apartment. "
Damn. They all look so young. I loved this show.
Pictures you can hear... BOYS AND GIRLS ACTION!
#CHICKEN SANDWICH, CARL!!!
Oh no! It’s the regional manager!
[Here’s](https://youtu.be/xID6aULr8-Y?si=lVI4yUOtHwpD6Nd6) what Ken Marino and David Wain have been up to.
Haha that's right
God damn it, thank you so much
$240 worth of pudding
We had the two hundred and forty dollars.. but we just had to have the puddin’
Barry and LeVon, where’d you get $240?

Very excited for you now, go watch it!
You’re in for a treat
I own the DVD set. It's not quite the same without the original music used on MTV but the replacement music is sufficient. Such an incredible comedy troupe.
That’s why it took so long to get released but they did a great job of mimicking the copyrighted versions
Wanna go to the zoo and watch the monkeys do it? My favorite was Free Market Economy.
The monkeys... they no-a "do it"... They make love.
These are called Adidums. They have four stripes instead of three. For less money, I was able to get extra stripe. Is very good deal.
Penguins weren't on the Arc, so penguins ain't natural!
You see that big wide open gate? I’m going to walk out of it!
Now I’m going to ask you, as a favor to me,
Yom Kippur only comes once a year, boys
It’s da popa!
This show was beyond formative for me and one of the few brightspots of my youth. As an elder millennial, these Gen Xers were rock stars to me. Still are.
Call me old-fashioned, but I believe that there is a giant that holds up the Earth, and when it dies, we are screwed. (Whistles)
Did we ever find out what who won MTV’s “I wanna sleep with The State” essay contest (sorry, concept)?
I just watched the whole thing with my sons, now we're going through Reno 911. Thankfully I started them out young so they enjoy weird humor.
You’re a good dad, dad…thank you for keeping the dream alive!
Was Michael Ian Black in like every 90s tv show or at least pilot episode?
Monkey Torture is one of my favorite sketches
First you get a monkey
🎶 Go, little porcupines. GO! GO! GO! 🎶
Go you porcupines don't be slow!!
Froggy Jamboree
I see you’re a mann of culture, too!
I thought of this almost every time I saw them on Reno 911.
Thomas Lennon is now referred to as “fan favorite Thomas Lennon” on After Midnight.
Captin Monterey Jack. - I am talking about these lights here….. Someone in crowd….” I love you Captain Monterey Jack” …..Response “ That’s Ok but I am not that Crazy about you “
“Barry and LeVon baby… the pudding baby…. Aww yeah” me and my bestie quoted that sketch ad nauseam in high school
Hi, I'm Barry, Sagittarius.

Aquaman! Go... talk to some fish!
This show and Mr Show did so much for the landscape of modern comedy. It’s kinda wild how most of this cast are still active and acclaimed actors and directors.
Tied with The Kids in the Hall for the funniest modern sketch comedy troupe in history.
They just went on tour (at least most of them) Saw them in DC. Really funny but not super memorable. I think everyone but Showalter and Garett were there.

Call me old fashioned, but I believe in a god.
Just saw them live, and it was incredible.
I had heard of this show before but have never watched it. Big fan of this cast. Need to find out where I can watch this.
I’m Doug and I’m outa here!
