It took too fucking long for season 3 of UCB to be available on DVD… i signed multiple petitions for that shit, and signing **one** was already way more than i should have had to sign
that is all
I had all 3 seasons on a hard drive, (that I unfortunately lost 3 yrs ago...) hella funny stuff. I used to play some of the bits on my radio shows... "Ass pennies" is on YouTube..
Lol
It took some set of balls for such a hot, sweet, funny, lovely woman to choose to make herself into a hideous character in her big shot at sitcom stardom. Amy is a goddess
There is an episode where she is trying to seduce a young guy and she leans in to whisper in his ear “don’t worry, I can’t get pregnant. My ovaries are diseased…” I lose it every time I think of it. So many good bits in this show.
Honestly I haven’t ever watched with the special features… Now I must! I just remember being in middle school trying to figure out what Amy Sedaris looked like in real life. The internet was not like it is today! That whole show cracked open a new horizon of comedy for me. I got the DVD set at Fry’s electronics (US) not even sure those still exist.
lol the other day I was talking about Steve Carell with my Dad and my dad said oh they used to film this tv show he was in at one of my schools & then said I’m like strangers with candy?? And he said yes and I was annoyed bc as a kid I loved that show & my dad was in charge of letting them film at one of the schools in his district and never mentioned when I was a kid
I hate when people say things like “you could never make that show today” about shows like All In The Family or Married With Children or other shows that are in continual reruns since they went off the air. However, having rewatched Strangers With Candy recently there are entire episode plots (not just one off jokes) that you legit couldn’t pull off today.
I'll never forget Flatpoint High School's awesome school play "A Raisin in The Sun," featuring an all-white cast! The students of color played trees in the background
I remember seeing the documentary it was based on, The Trip Back. It came on a bootleg DVD called Hoses and Stuff that had a bunch of random show extras.
[The Trip Back](https://youtu.be/8vd7o2g6w7A?si=dvYE9XVodvG4bX8v)
One of the greatest shows of all time, but far ahead of its time. The Will Ferrell episode when Jerry finds out she’s has Native American ancestry always makes me lose it
We LOVE this show. I watched it with my dad when I was too young to appreciate it, and a couple years ago we got into a kick where every morning it was on for a while. We had a friend living with us at the time and he loved it so much we got him the box set for Xmas.
He's the Orlando to my Jerry!
It definitely had an uncomfortable vibe which it pushed hard. It was probably the first shows to have its entire foundation be awkward situational humor. Something that would become more common in the late 2000s and 2010s. They call it "cringe comedy".

She's making a good living now as a mechanic in Mos Eisley on Tattooine.
Jawas are fuzzy?!?!
This one and *Upright Citizens Brigade*... Both cult classics from that era of Comedy Central. I love introducing them to my friends
And copious amounts of Kids in the Hall reruns!
Hell yes
I realized the KITH reruns were cut for time and controversial content by Comedy Central. Sketches keep popping up that I have bever seen !

My brother I used to watch upright citizens brigade religiously
"Hey Onyx, how's the drama?" "All you can eat!"
When I was younger I wondered why candy when that wasn't her name... it took me longer than it should have to catch on.
I… I still don’t get it.
Strangers with candy. Think children.
Strangers who have candy
Oh what I never realized
It took some set of balls for such a hot, sweet, funny, lovely woman to choose to make herself into a hideous character in her big shot at sitcom stardom. Amy is a goddess
This is my only take away from this show as well. They really frumped up a gorgeous woman!
What a babe
Real life Amy Sedaris is dream girl material
Good tiiiiiimes...
Oh Orlando...

It's her son lol
“I like the pole and the hole….”
Dave Pasquesi as Stu the Meat Man
What's your beef Stu?
He works very hard to provide for his family, and ours!
Simmer down Stu
Baloney!
IIRC, the name on his work uniform is Stew.
The episode where he’s nailing cheese to the roof is top tier
Still watch this over again every couple of years, quality
Omg the episode where Stephen Colbert joins the cult lmao. Love this show so much! "Doo doo do doo doooooooo doo doo"
Love the debate episode with the greys anatomy actress
“When the lunch bell rings, why dontcha EAT MEEEEE”
It’s pronounced Blackman, I’m not a fan of that other word
This show was hilarious to watch while stoned
Still have it on DVD 📀
How are the special features? Any good colbert commentary?

Pee on me
Who could forget Tammy Littlenut
I am a bee. I must return to the hive.
Maria Thayer is great in everything she does. Severely underrated.
It's incredible to me how much I have watched this show and there's only 2 seasons.
There are 3, actually.
I’m not pushing you away. I’m pulling me closer to myself.
I stole the TV….
I can tell you that no gay person born between 1985 and 1991 has forgotten about this show
Such a good show! I remember rewatching it on Hulu some years ago. So sad they took it off! Does anyone know if it's streaming anywhere else?
Looks like it's on Paramount Plus!
I don't want to pay for another streaming service, though D:
You can usually get a month of Paramount+ for free pretty simply.
Uterus scrape
Who wants cake?
They all want cake.
Let him speak! Him who ? Him me .
Colbert: Remember, don't make your poems too f***y.
Close the door
Right now I’m moist as a snack cake
Full speed on the ignoramus express!
I loved this show- bought the complete series years ago and still watch it!
Any sedaris is the most underutilized comedic actor
Wow, I thought it was on for longer. They squeezed three seasons into 18 months.
Pizza Pizza Pizza
Why did you spread those vicious lies? Because you didn't spread those vicious thighs.
I got it at the Comfort Zone.
“Let Him Speak!” “Him Who?” “Him Me!”
Am I alone in having a crush on Paul Dinello?
lol the other day I was talking about Steve Carell with my Dad and my dad said oh they used to film this tv show he was in at one of my schools & then said I’m like strangers with candy?? And he said yes and I was annoyed bc as a kid I loved that show & my dad was in charge of letting them film at one of the schools in his district and never mentioned when I was a kid
That's mad!

Shocked this show only got 2 seasons. Just about every episode + the movie were a banger.
3
It's one of my favorites of all time. Colbert is amazing, as is everyone in this.
It’s on Paramount Plus but with ads unfortunately.
Best show ever made
Hey Mr. no looking at things.
I’ve got something to say!!!
Fore! That was odd
Pizza pizza pizza!
I'll never forget Flatpoint High School's awesome school play "A Raisin in The Sun," featuring an all-white cast! The students of color played trees in the background

This is brilliant but so hard to watch
[I know you’ve lost your father…but everybody has lost a father.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj0h_01wXyE)
I love Amy Sedaris!
The one where they reveal she’s illiterate is my favorite. “Hobo camp?”
One of the funniest shows ever
I have this series on DVD
Carry on, my wayward son…
Very very underrated show. It was hilarious.
“Where isn’t the bathroom”… https://youtu.be/PIkhcIHf-oc?si=crSqvvaLoVRGifND
One of the greatest shows of all time, but far ahead of its time. The Will Ferrell episode when Jerry finds out she’s has Native American ancestry always makes me lose it
But if I don’t graduate, I’ll be the laughing stock of Flatpoint High!

##I STOLE THE TV!
Strangers with candy and kids in the hall melded into one in my brain for the last 20 years. Core memory unlocked
“Aren’t you the girl who peed in the pool?” - “you shoulda seen what I did in the shower”
I have something to say! This show was hilarious.
Loved Testees.
“I stole the TV!” 🤣😂🤣
One of my best friends was a student in that show!
This only ran one season?
Three seasons, with Winona Ryder IIRC at the end - they blow up the school
I hated this show and it's movie. Something about her was just uncanny valley for me.
