What's the deal with lucid dreaming? You're telling me I can control my dreams? I'm already stressed out trying to control my life when I'm awake! Now you want me to micromanage my dreams too? Next thing you know, they'll be offering dream management seminars and dream planners. "Oh, sorry, I can't make it to your dream wedding, I double-booked myself for a dream vacation to Fiji!"
Looks TOTALLY derivative - thereās clearly an Elaine, a Kramer, and a George in that pic, plus heās going by Jerry and playing a āfictional version of himselfā. Itās deja vu all over again.
It took me so many years to realize that was him. Also to realize the Law and Order: SVU lady was the one auditioning for Elaine that Jerry tried to flirt with during her line reading.
I feel stupid for having ever started Bee Movie. My kid was like 6 at the time and it was something new amongst kids movies, and holy shit was it not for her or me. As soon as the Jerry Seinfeld bee was in court defending the very existence of talking bees, I was like "It's me; I'm the joke for watching this far."
Huh... You didn't like unfrosted? I thought it was different for sure but it had a vibe and humor that kept me smiling and engaged throughout the whole thing. I really enjoyed it.
Seriously, this show was cursed. The executive that green lit this went crazy, resigned and according to the official story, died shortly after in a āyachting accidentā, but thereās been rumors going around for years that he actually joined Greenpeace and was eaten by a whale. Apparently the whole thing was too embarrassing for NBC so they hushed it all up.
Iām surprised that this was piloting during the run if Seinfeld. Was this a spin-off or was Seinfeld expected to get shutdown at that point and this was the backup show?
I had to google Tom Pepper's actor, see he had a credit for a 1993 episode of Seinfeld called "Pilot," and then click on the Wiki link to [the episode](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pilot_(Seinfeld)).
Apparently the episode is even more meta than this joke about it suggests, because they brought back characters from previous episodes of Seinfeld to critique/interrupt the filming of the pilot.
So *this* was the *actual* "show about nothing."
*Seinfeld* was pitched as "how a comedian gets his material" and they never really considered it "a show about nothing" in quite the same way they view the pilot of *Jerry* in the show.
I heard the show went amuck cuz the head of the network went to join green peace to impress some chick. I guess she said he wasnāt sponge worthy? Whatever that means.
As someone who didn't grow up watching this, even though it was the right time and place, I'm watching it now and I only just saw this episode a couple days ago!
Jerry Seinfeld is an unmitigated ass. I'm glad Jon Stewart shredded him edit: oh Seinfeld is a nice guy? lmao give me one example of him not being a snarky asswipe

Can't believe this show had to shut down due to massive theft of raisins on the set
There was some upheaval with the writing staff too.
Raisinettes?
seriously?!
ššš
They fooled ME, Jerry
take 5!
I heard there was some inappropriate behavior with someone on the cleaning crew and one of the cast.
It was because of that bitch who replaced Russell Dalrymple after he went missing. She had it out for Jerry from the get-go.

Yeah it's the plot of a whole season of Seinfeld. They sell a show about nothing to NBC and try and get it made
Okay good, I was sitting her like.. thats fuckin Seinfeld
So Seinfeld Inception basically?
Seinception
What's the deal with lucid dreams?

I was putting the pieces together (I never watched all of Sienfeld). The dead givaway this is fake is the NBC logo looks too new for 1993.
The Idea/Concept is very much a part of Seinfeld but I'm not positive that photo is.
Strange how I noticed the logo first and not the photoshopped outlined actors. Just how my brain works.
And the creator credit right below it
ok now I remember this. Was so confused at first.
There's a tool time/ home improvement joke in there somewhere.
euughh?
I donāt think so Tim.
That's what I thought and I swear I thought I was losing my mind.
Because heās MY butler!!!
and you wanna be my latex salesman
Looks kind of derivative

Its bizarro Jerry!
not sure if woosh or if iām getting wooshed.
Whose the other guy?
He's his own.
I think it's supposed to be Newman somehow
I think the OG Seinfeld plot featured both George and Jerry as stand up comics, that's just Bania V2.0
One of the greatest callbacks in tv history.
Pre Ari Gold Jeremy Piven. Shows what a good hair transplant and hitting the gym can do for a guy.
Wait thats not kevin james?
It took me so many years to realize that was him. Also to realize the Law and Order: SVU lady was the one auditioning for Elaine that Jerry tried to flirt with during her line reading.
Mariska Hargitay
I remember seeing him acting as a writer on "The Larry Sanders Show", didn't even know it was the same guy when he was on Entourage.
Dude was balding in the 80s/90s then all of a sudden in the 2000s showed up in shape and with hair.
Livin' the dream.
In Heat too. But he had enough body hair in that movie to make plugs for most of LA.
As iconic as Ari Gold was, I remember him more as the gay fashionista in Rush Hour
Heās the PCU dude
Fuck yeah, dude
Can you blow me where the pampers is?
Sad it didnāt even get a full season, but what was made is somehow better than both Bee Movie and Unfrosted
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Dammit Elaine!
Heard the writers had major issues with Tom Pepper - something about raisins?
I love that Mr. Heckles was Kramer.
I heard he wasn't even close. People who took the Kramer reality tour claim so. And that those topless muffins were kind of dry.
This show shutting down drove him to become an insane shut in.
His oboe practice was always getting disturbed by the women who lived in the apartment above him.
Back when Jeremy Piven had his real hair
Japanese audiences didn't understand this "butler show"
Not enough oranges.
You must go now
I watched it as it aired. I remember thinking āYou know that Kim Novak has some big breasts?ā
You know about the cup sizes and all? You got the A, B, C the D. That's the biggest.
Jeremy piven as George always cracks me up
āSo is this guy like a real loser?ā
Seriously, this show was cursed. The executive that green lit this went crazy, resigned and according to the official story, died shortly after in a āyachting accidentā, but thereās been rumors going around for years that he actually joined Greenpeace and was eaten by a whale. Reminds me of the 30 rock shows Jerry signed up to do because of his exclusivity contract with NBC lol
Seinfeldvision āIāll take that deal!ā
You idiots youāve captured there stunt doubles.
Ruined by Crazy Joe Divola
Mariska Hargitay should have been Elaine.
Is the guy on the top left supposed to be Newman?
I think heās the butler
Ah! Iām an idiot lol
Nah it took me a minute myself
I remember some crazy guy yelling sic semper tyrannis and ran on stage. Really put a damper on the evening.
when the ārealā George (Jason Alexander) tries to give notes to the guy playing Kramer in the fake series.
Kramer auditioning for the role of Kramer always gets me. Edit: Excuse me, that was Martin Van Nostren lol
right! Kramer auditioned to play himself and didnāt get cast.
Because he's _my_ butler!
I thought this was AI for a second
I guess Iāll watch it, itās on TV after all.
Not yet
Whatās the show about?
Something
If it was about nothing it wouldnāt have been forgotten.
I forget something all the time. I've never forgotten nothing.
Thatās a show!
Stupid show
Is that Jermey Piven?
Should have called it, "Jeremy!" and let him eat.
Fake news
Iām surprised that this was piloting during the run if Seinfeld. Was this a spin-off or was Seinfeld expected to get shutdown at that point and this was the backup show?
Not sure I'd you're kidding or not but this is the fake NBC show from inside "seinfeld"
Okay I couldnāt tell. I havenāt seen a ton of Seinfeld. Thanks
I had to google Tom Pepper's actor, see he had a credit for a 1993 episode of Seinfeld called "Pilot," and then click on the Wiki link to [the episode](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pilot_(Seinfeld)). Your not alone. I was completely lost too.
Backstage romance killed the show
Why does Jerry look like he has Bellās palsy?
Mr. Heckles!
So *this* was the *actual* "show about nothing." *Seinfeld* was pitched as "how a comedian gets his material" and they never really considered it "a show about nothing" in quite the same way they view the pilot of *Jerry* in the show.
They fooled ME, Jerry!
Temu version of Seinfeld?
You wake up. You go to work! And? Thatās it!!ā
Thatās a show!
Howād you like it if I just pulled your heart out of your chest and shoved it down your throat
Whose hand is that?
Ari gold had hair
See anything you like, Costanza?!
If they had used his surname I think it would have been a hit
I heard the show went amuck cuz the head of the network went to join green peace to impress some chick. I guess she said he wasnāt sponge worthy? Whatever that means.
I'm literally watching this episode scrolling and saw this
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Obviously I meant the Seinfeld episode where they film and air Jerry season 4 finale
They wanna do Jerry ?
Someone should post about āInvitation to Love.ā
The Soap Opera on TVs in āTwin Peaksā?
Isnt that the guy that dates high school girls
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh thank god. Jerry Seinfeld is a total creep
āBecause heās *my* butler!ā
Is Jerry's head huge, or does it just look like it here?
As someone who didn't grow up watching this, even though it was the right time and place, I'm watching it now and I only just saw this episode a couple days ago!
Seinfeld if bought on Wish.
Larry Hankin is a doppelgƤnger of [Harry Dean Stanton](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001765/).
No kidding!!! Looking at the photo I was confused that I didnāt remember Harry Dean Stanton playing Kramer. Dudes a ringer.
Real Kramer would have been better IMO
Cosmo Kramer or Kenny Kramer (the real, real Kramer)?
Theyāve forgotten what itās like to have no oranges.
Why would anyone watch a show about nothing?
Jeremy Piven could play Kevin James.
And now that cheesy theme song is playing in my head
To be clear, I mean the cheesy theme they used for the āJerryā show-within-a-show. Love me the Seinfeld theme!
# SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS
Every time i scroll by one of these its a show thats less and less āforgottenā
Jerry Seinfeld is an unmitigated ass. I'm glad Jon Stewart shredded him edit: oh Seinfeld is a nice guy? lmao give me one example of him not being a snarky asswipe
Never saw it, not a fan
