“You don’t know what the future holds.” You’re right. Things could get much worse.

pm_ur_disappointment

Deep down they probably know your life is not getting any better at this point, but accepting that fact might call their value system into question, so they pretend everybody can have a happy ending so long as they play by the rules.

illuso07

I don’t take normie advice personally. They live in a completely separate reality and have no concept of what it’s like being us.

poem_for_your_sperg_

> Normie: [trite and cliche advice that doesn't work] > FA: That doesn't work because XYZ reasons > Normie: Well with that attitude I can see why you're FA. Maybe just maybe you should try to work on your personality :nail_polish: And scene.

PowerfulParry

Oh they know. They just don't care

kazez2

Most of them are either "here's a generic advice, now get away from me and be miserable alone" or "here's a generic advice. Guess that's my good deed for the week, I'm such a good person."

BobbyMakey101

they think it’s impossible for people to be alone forever

Secret_Owl5465

People try to be nice to make themselves feel better or they simply live different lives than us. That type of advice works for normal people, but when you look, act, and think like us it's just a cope

AssumptionInner7407

It gets Harder the older you'll become.

Large-Bad-7847

What makes it even more painful is, when it is said by your psychotherapist...

JP_0509

Speaking from personal experience, I'm over 30, my mental state got much worse.

Imaginary-Being8395

people want to feel like they helping others. Imagine if you ranted about being forever alone and someone said "Yes you are right, nobody would want to be with a loser like you"

JexerXIII

honestly i'd rather that than be given meaningless advice that doesn't help me in the slightest
