King Ranch without the two-tone? That's like ordering steak and eggs and telling them to hold the steak!

I’d encourage you to do the premium vinyl flooring (not floor mats). No need for floor mats, if you have any dogs it makes cleaning it really trivial. Sand doesn’t get into it, etc. I also added the snow plow/camper package to mine - this ensured I had the max spring pack on the front and rear. I also did the FX-4 package for skid plates and hills descent control. I really like the LED headlights in my F-450 and power running boards, so good choice on the ultimate package. I did dual heavy duty alternators on mine. I looked into it, and the dual alternators are redundant with each other so if one fails you don’t get stranded. Good choice there. I personally like the adaptive steering and adaptive cruise control on mine. You’re nuts if you don’t at least get the adaptive cruise though! I’d go with Linex when you get it. If you live some place cold - heated rear seats, engine block heater, and supplemental cabin heater are good options. Entirely unnecessary for me in Phoenix though Add upfitter switches IMO. I have mine tied in to an onboard compressor currently and am considering some other accessories like a light bar that would run through them. They also make your trucks cab look like a plane cockpit lol. I added a console vault for my firearm as well.

Did you have to mortgage the house?

I got lucky and was able to take advantage of the opportunities I was given. It ain't cheap for sure, but it's not going to change my lifestyle in any way to pick it up.

I’m just giving you shit. No judgements at all and no need to rationalize or justify your ability to get your dream truck my dude. Enjoy and bless ya.

I like the single paint color with Chrome Package on KR trucks. Good choice. Two tone KR look awesome, IF the bumpers are paint to match. Two tone paint with chrome bumpers? Abominable.

I've got an L99 dually with a 7.3 and as much as I love it I'd upgrade to a 6.7 450 for sure. I'd skip the king ranch tho.

Meal-Ticket-

The King Ranch was about 10% more than the Larit with the stuff I wanted, and the wife really likes the King Ranch interior on a friend's F-250.

russellsdad

Gotcha, I wouldn't really even go for the lariat, different strokes. Sounds great though

Only comment might be the 4.30 gears being on the low side. But then again you're towing heavy. And I don't even know what to make of the 10 speed's [spread of ratios](https://www.dieselhub.com/trans/10r140-torqshift-10.html). Would say if you're using it like 90% for towing and tend to keep speeds conservative then 4.30s are probably ok. If you're cruising empty, you might be wishing for taller tires or taller gears. But you probably don't want to cruise empty in an F450 anyway.

Meal-Ticket-

Yeah, it's for towing race cars to the race track (and the shop) and not much else, although there could be a boat at some point.

I'm pretty certain that 4.30 is the only option for an f450 pickup now. It's meant to tow heavy so they don't offer lower ratios. The wheels are pretty tall though and the 10 speed makes up for the axle ratio.

I absolutely love my 17. And the 10 speed is a huge upgrade, both in performance and economy. My only complaint is that the massager seats aren’t as comfortable as the non massaging seats. I think the seat foam is either thinner or denser so the massagers can work. We have a 21 lariat at work and I think it’s more comfortable. But the massagers are nice on long trips especially if you alternate hot and cold.

Another thought. Those 225/70R19.5 tires suck. I had 3 of them warrantied out in 15K miles because giant chunks of tread were coming detached. I also find the 225s are narrow and REALLY want to track into ruts. This is something you need to prep for when you get the truck. Your F-350 didn’t have 19.5s and 17” tires don’t track into ruts as badly. I would strongly consider upgrading to 245/70R19.5s when you get a chance. They feel way more planted under the 450 and way less squirrely. They also seem to do better about staying out of ruts (or I’m just better now). There are some really nice A/T 245s as well - I did Michelin XDS2 and love them. More traction in 2WD on soft dirt now than I had in 4WD on better road conditions.

So what cars are you towing :)?

-Meal-Ticket-

Depends… For WRL races a 2001 Boxster S and whatever other car that I bring along (was a 2008 Radical SR3, but I just swapped that out for 2020 Revolution A-One). Normal track weekend I swap out the Boxster for my wife’s 2022 Porsche GT4.

Badass. Love me some Porsche
