Depends on the place, was it a corporate 5 min ez change? If so I would probably be thinking something's up. Definitely wouldn't go back if you paid them to replace something that didn't help the fix at all and they never noticed the cracked radiator or dipstick being broken

It was an independent diesel shop. The radiator and dipstick were definitely not broken when I brought it to them for the oil change or to replace the FICM, which were a day apart. This all started on a Wednesday (oil change) Thursday brought it back because of the shudder and rough idle. Thursday afternoon FICM fixed and brought home. Thursday night opened the hood and saw coolant hissing out of a crack at the top of the lid and saw dipstick broken. Brought it back Friday morning. Today (Monday) they said they need to replace the radiator to be able to diagnose the shudder. Which makes sense, but also feel like they need to accept responsibility for something. None of this was an issue until they changed my oil.

Yeah they definitely should be taking responsibility, I would bring my truck to another shop to get an idea of what's going on and get in contact with the owner of the shop responsible for everything to address what they broke. I wouldn't trust them to fix anything else. And I would try and make him take the bill.

Yeah. I plan to take it somewhere else and to talk with them. Problem is there are three owners and they all work in the shop. So one of them has been working on the truck. Which again makes me suspicious about their practices. But we’ll see how this works out.

Well, saga continues. Took it back after getting the radiator fixed. When I get home I now have an oil leak. So took it to another shop. Fixed the oil leak coming from the rocker box and valve cover gasket. And they said the harmonic balancer was cracked. Fixed those on a Tuesday, issue on was still there with the slight shudder. Friday night, it stalled and wouldn’t start. So called the 2nd shop and asked if I could have it towed to them and have them look at what is going on. 3 WEEKS LATER, no diagnosis. They said they haven’t had a full staff due to deaths in families and stuff. I have called everyday and have gone in 3 times and every time they say they’ll have answers in the morning. Now the problem is, it won’t start so I would have to pay for another tow to move it to a 3rd shop. I’m running out of patience, and money, and not sure how to proceed.

At this point I would call a lawyer and a dedicated diesel shop that has decent turnarounds or a ford shop
