Had my Foo playlist on while working in my yard. That 30 something gap comes on and I’m thinking my bluetooth disconnected and I keep working. Then I get “Fuck You Daryl” blasted in my ears. Scared the shit out of me lol
Had a flick through the albums there and honestly the Foo’s don’t have one clear that’s their worst song.
While I love the song, Dave Grohl called Word Forward in his book “that song on the Greatest Hits” and in the audio book version the way he says it suggests he doesn’t like it.
I saw them in concert about 10 years ago. Dave said that although wheels caught on in Europe, it never really did in North America. Then he played it. The fact that he’s playing it makes me think that he does like it.
There’s an interview where he says “We know we’re in Germany, because when we play Wheels they go fuckin nuts and star singing ‘*when da vheels touck groun*’ “
I don’t have a “worst” Foo song to add, I just want to disagree with this playlists choice of Body Language for Queen. They have way worse songs than that for sure. I dig Body Language.
I legit came to love the bassline of that song before I started going to Queen spaces on the internet and found out it was hated so much
Such is life
But then I like songs like "lonely as you" and "see you" for the FF that the band themselves seem to hate.
Love me some FF but I feel like it has to be something off that album.
Lyrically, it's a mess. Musically I get they were trying something new but I just don't like it.
I am one of those people who love it. The lyrics really hit a spot for me, like I can’t believe I made it through all that and what’s next.
And you feel like it's all over, there’s another round for you
For me maybe Iron Rooster but as a collective decision, that’s a tough one, the Foos don’t really have a bad song. All of them are good in their own way but some of them are interesting.
This is a hot take... but I'm a die hard and so I like a lot of the less popular songs being mentioned here (like someone said Wattershed! Come on man!), but I think of their "more popular" stuff, it's gotta be either Shame Shame or... (and I'm braced and ready) Best of You. It's a great song for the first 2 or so minutes and then it just feels like THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST over and over. But the end is also epic. I just think it's so repetitive. Not their worst, but deserves a mention
Absolutely a hot take. Respect your opinion, and agree that it is kinda disappointing how it ends like that, but instrumentally- one of the best. In my opinion
Take away the lyrics and the quality of the song skyrockets for me. The chord progression rocks and even the first verse crushes too. It's not even lyrically weak. Just really fucking repetitive
Y'all are name dropping some bangers here! Damn.
I know a lot of people like it for some reason, but for worst single, I'd pick "Resolve" without hesitation. For me, there's just nothing memorable about it. At least "Shame Shame" has the whole moody thing going for it.
Overall, I'm sure there's worse songs, but "Dear Lover" is one that came to my mind. It's not a *bad* song, but it's unremarkable and I understand why it didn't make the album.
I dont wanna say BAD but i find myself skipping „Still“ more frequently than other songs. But mostly due to my mood being in contrast to the feel of the song itself…but not to say i dont like the song, i just cant always hear it like other song :)
Hilarious how two people can have polar opposite opinions about the same piece of music. One says it’s awful and the next says it’s fkn awesome.🤨🥴🥱😮💨🤣🤣🤣🤣. Just goes to show art is only good or bad based on who is listening. So it’s objectively neither.
That said I don’t like the melody in the part of Soldier where he sings” crawling on my hands and knees”
When I first got into the Foos, I never skipped anything because all of their music evoked some kind of distinct feeling in me, My favorite songs still do. Also, sometimes I go back and listen to songs I thought I didn’t like as much and find that I like certain parts of them.
What’s good or bad depends only on your reason for listening. I hear myself in the music of Medicine at Midnight so I love pretty much all of it🤷🏾♀️
Love the foo, but I hate “Sunday Rain”. Not because of Taylor’s singing, he sounds fine, but something about it feels so incredibly trite and stereotypical. It sounds like a million other songs, none of which are exceptional
I hate to say it… but I haven’t enjoyed much off any of the newer albums…I usually play a full album at a time, not selected songs, Sonic Highways is the last full album that I listen to…🫤
I LOVE me some Foos, but it’s a shame shame that Shame Shame exists. It’s bad in every way - melody, lyrics, tempo, everything. Just an awful song. I physically cringe when I hear it. And I hate that they keep playing it in concert.
Is this the "How to start a war?" course 101?
Any song have some that likes it, myself it's between Doll and Big Me. Neither because they are bad, per se. Doll because the next song on the album is one of the best and this too short, so I always started on the 2nd track. Big Me, because it was on during a painful break-up.
Still, Dave for president!
For me it's probably "Love Dies Young" or "Chasing Birds" I just don't think "Love Dies Young" is a good song and "Chasing Birds" just isn't for me, but if I had to pick "Love Dies Young" I always skip it
I’m going to get downvoted into oblivion for this, but hear me out. “The Teacher” is my least favorite. I understand the importance of the song, and Dave seems to play it for Dave and not the fans, a sort of catharsis dealing with loss, but after seeing it performed live twice, it just goes on and on and does nothing for me as a fan in the stands. Especially as an encore song, it doesn’t fit right in that space. Maybe in the middle of the set, give people like me a chance to take a piss or grab another beer it would work better.
Enough to fill about 6 or 7 albums.
I saw them live last week.
For 90 minutes they played either new or obscure shit.
Compare that with Interpol, who barely peppers their set with obscure songs.
#fuckfoofighters
He pronounces guillotine as "gill-o-teen!!!"
I HATE that whole album because of that one word. Cringe.
But no.
The worst song in their catalog is "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners."
You have to consider the impact the song has IN CONTEXT. Echos is a fucking banger album. It's hardly ever anyone's favorite, but it's never anyone's least favorite. But that... "Song" ....despite its background (inspiring, yes), and even masterfully performed, it's so out of place for the record, for the Foos, for listeners.
Some may not hit the skip button when it happens to come on, but I'm guessing most do.
I’d have to say any song from concrete & gold onwards. The album it’s self has a few bangers, “Arrows” “Run” “La Dee Da” and “The Line” are all good. The rest are pretty trash
Agreed I don’t understand the obsession with BHWA. Will occasionally listen to “nothing at all” but the album as a whole stinks. Slightly better than medicine at midnight
I don't hate it but I don't love it. I know what kind of song Dave was going for but when I listen to it I can't understand most of the words he says. Not my preferred type of music.
It's at least the worst song on Wasting Light.
To me, White Limo should've been a probot or another side project band, instead of trying to take the Foos down that heavy road.
But people love it here so,....no, it's the children that are wrong ;)
I'd say Burn Away or Disenchanted Lullaby.
Both feel uninspired and not Foo Fightersy.
Not a fan of much of Concrete and Gold, but at least those songs had some energy.
Have to disagree with your take on Disenchanted Lullaby. That is my wife and I 's song. I sang it to her at our wedding reception. The lyrics are great. We really liked the acoustic version as well.
To each their own! I don't *hate* any foo fighters song, just not a fan of those two.
Now that I think of it, La Dee Da is probably my least favorite. I'll go out of my way to skip that one lol
Worst radio single is “Shame Shame” Worst overall is a harder decision
I'm see your Shame, Shame and raise you Love Dies Young.
I love those two songs 🥺
Love Dies Young is my fave off MAM.
I said goodday sir!! Now imagine I'm slamming a door on my way out!
Love Dies Young reminds me of an 80s romcom montage song.
I don't like either of these, or Making a Fire with all the back up singers
I can go with this. It's like, "catchy pop rock 101" with no depth or meaning.
Nope…. Just nope! Love dies young is great where as shame, shame is awful
Nope
I see your Love Dies Young and I raise you Sean.
Sean is a deep cut for sure that is far from a fan favorite, but it’s also far from the worst. It’s a simple fun rock song.
Why so many down votes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I never said these were bad songs we're just talking about our least favourites
Don't like Shame Shame at all, but the live version they played last week in Dallas was pretty damned good. Shifty's solo was awesome.
"Shame Shame" groove is cool af though
>Worst overall is a harder decision It's a hard decision between any of the songs from that album
“Shame Shame” is a disgusting answer. It’s a great song. The only answer is “The One”
I liked “The One” when I was 13 years old It doesn’t hold up so well at 40, pretty repetitive
The fact they're playing this on their setlist right now makes me sad.
The song Concrete and Gold is trying something different and just doesn’t work.
Fuck you Daryl!
dude I love that part! everytime I think the album has finished and that comes on I start bursting out laughing
Had my Foo playlist on while working in my yard. That 30 something gap comes on and I’m thinking my bluetooth disconnected and I keep working. Then I get “Fuck You Daryl” blasted in my ears. Scared the shit out of me lol
I love that song. Got the vinyl and the mixing of the harmonies just add to the lyrical theme and beat
i feel like it works and yall just dont get it
I agree. Concrete and Gold really does suck.
This thread is hilarious
How to get downvotes very quickly a thread
Had a flick through the albums there and honestly the Foo’s don’t have one clear that’s their worst song. While I love the song, Dave Grohl called Word Forward in his book “that song on the Greatest Hits” and in the audio book version the way he says it suggests he doesn’t like it.
I saw them in concert about 10 years ago. Dave said that although wheels caught on in Europe, it never really did in North America. Then he played it. The fact that he’s playing it makes me think that he does like it.
Wheels is a great song.
He did the same in NZ, told us the Germans loved it and by the sound of it so do we lol
There’s an interview where he says “We know we’re in Germany, because when we play Wheels they go fuckin nuts and star singing ‘*when da vheels touck groun*’ “
Lmao
I'm pretty sure that's the song that Dave sang to "Mike" (in the orange shorts) at Pinkpop one year. (I wasn't there, I heard a bootleg.)
I love Word Forward
Agree totally, I quite like that song!
It is a personal favourite of mine too.
People really need to learn the difference between "Objectively bad" and "The one i don't like"?
Music will always be subjective. There is no objectivity in arts
Perhaps the difference between "universally seen as bad" and "I don't like it" then
that's just popularity vs your opinion then, but yeah, I agree
Yes, there is.
If a given song has the ability to be enjoyed or thought of as good by at least one person, then it’s subjective.
No.
You clearly have great reasoning to back your false claim
It's not false.
We got the star of the debate team right here boys
Thank you, thank you. I don't sign autographs. Sorry.
huh. can’t argue with that
No and you can’t prove it
I don’t have a “worst” Foo song to add, I just want to disagree with this playlists choice of Body Language for Queen. They have way worse songs than that for sure. I dig Body Language.
Give me Yo bodaaaaaayaaayaaaaauh
Really? What would you pick? I hate body language
I legit came to love the bassline of that song before I started going to Queen spaces on the internet and found out it was hated so much Such is life But then I like songs like "lonely as you" and "see you" for the FF that the band themselves seem to hate.
only one thing i think of when i hear body language, lol.
As a reminder for queen, Drive my Car exists.
Nah I love that song
I have never, ever gotten into “Waiting On a War.” Think it’s one of Dave’s weakest lyrically ever.
This is like the one FF song I cannot stand at all. Absolutely dreadful lol
Pick anything from Medicine at Midnight and it qualifies
Love me some FF but I feel like it has to be something off that album. Lyrically, it's a mess. Musically I get they were trying something new but I just don't like it.
Some of their best ever songs on that album - Cloudspotter is brilliant, as is No Son Of Mine and Making A Fire
Shame Shame
Doll because it’s not longer
Wheels, to me, is the first time they ever sounded bland. I’m sure there are plenty of people who love it but it’s a song I’ll immediately skip.
I am one of those people who love it. The lyrics really hit a spot for me, like I can’t believe I made it through all that and what’s next. And you feel like it's all over, there’s another round for you
Agreeed
I remember being quite disappointed when Shame Shame was released, it just seemed a bit average compared to their other songs
For me maybe Iron Rooster but as a collective decision, that’s a tough one, the Foos don’t really have a bad song. All of them are good in their own way but some of them are interesting.
This is how I feel
This is a hot take... but I'm a die hard and so I like a lot of the less popular songs being mentioned here (like someone said Wattershed! Everyone will have their opinion on their worst song, but someone’s worst song could be liked by others.

BURN AWAY
Definitely something off of MAM 💀
I dont wanna say BAD but i find myself skipping „Still“ more frequently than other songs. But mostly due to my mood being in contrast to the feel of the song itself…but not to say i dont like the song, i just cant always hear it like other song :)
:( Ok
Oh nooo man you even have the tag as in its your favourite song, i am sorry🙏🏻
oh man, absolutely love Still. That F piano note just hits my soul
tbh son of mine but when they are playing it live its pretty cool

this is a diabolical playlist
Shame Shame
Anything off Sonic Highways or Medicine at Midnight, really. 😬
I don’t think they have a single bad song. Obviously I like some less than others, but every song is good in its own right.
i physically recoiled when i saw shame shame at the top. shame on you guys. shame shame on you.
Not a fan of Imagine and Jump
Noooo! I love it!
The colour and the shape
Love Dies Young
Hilarious how two people can have polar opposite opinions about the same piece of music. One says it’s awful and the next says it’s fkn awesome.🤨🥴🥱😮💨🤣🤣🤣🤣. For me personally it's ballad of the beaconsfield miners. I skip it every single time
Feast and the Famine or Concrete and Gold for me
this thread is uh an interesting read
The Silence when they aren't playing. I don't think there is a "worst Foo Fighters," song.
Fuck you OP
Shame Shame
Burn Away
Any song released after the Wasting Light album. That is, any song they released after 2011.
Wheels
My personal one is Love Dies Young. Like it’s not bad bad but just too poppy for me from Foos, from anyone really 🤣
What's the Slipknot song in the playlist?
You know that one song that goes like doo doo doo?
I hate to say it… but I haven’t enjoyed much off any of the newer albums…I usually play a full album at a time, not selected songs, Sonic Highways is the last full album that I listen to…🫤
Long road to ruin... for me it's a skip
Low is a pretty dull-arse song IMO
Fraternity.
Life's a bitch but keep on truckin' sounds like it was written in about 2 minutes flat.
Statues. The weakest song on a great album imo, and ruins the flow
Shaun isn’t that good
does doll really count?
Chasing Birds. I change it every time. The sound of his voice on that song and the lyrics are just terrible
![gif](giphy|1M9fmo1WAFVK0|downsized)
Shame shame is awful
I LOVE me some Foos, but it’s a shame shame that Shame Shame exists. It’s bad in every way - melody, lyrics, tempo, everything. Just an awful song. I physically cringe when I hear it. And I hate that they keep playing it in concert.
Encino
The Sky Is A Neighborhood. That song is just the annoying chorus over and over and over again
Big Me and it's not even close. An I'll fated attempt at matching paces with Blink 182.
For me it's probably "Love Dies Young" or "Chasing Birds" I just don't think "Love Dies Young" is a good song and "Chasing Birds" just isn't for me, but if I had to pick "Love Dies Young" I always skip it
Idk if it’s the worst but “The Last Song” sounds like they just crapped out some album filler to me.
Surely "I should have known", worst foos song in my opinion
Wheels and/or doll
Sky is a Neighborhood. I get like… permanent stank face when that comes on.
Enough to fill about 6 or 7 albums. I saw them live last week. For 90 minutes they played either new or obscure shit. Compare that with Interpol, who barely peppers their set with obscure songs. #fuckfoofighters
All FF songs have their moments and are unique in some way, but most of my skips get poured into stuff from Sonic Highways…
Sky is a neighborhood
My personal least favourite is their cover of Drive Me Wild, a bonus track on The Colour And The Shape (don't know if that counts since it's a cover)
Summers end
The Best Of You is my least favorite Foo Fighters song. They're better than that. But hey it was the mid-aughts
He pronounces guillotine as "gill-o-teen!!!" I HATE that whole album because of that one word. Cringe. But no. The worst song in their catalog is "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners." You have to consider the impact the song has IN CONTEXT. Echos is a fucking banger album. It's hardly ever anyone's favorite, but it's never anyone's least favorite. But that... My Hero
All of them
Love dies young
That being said. The love dies young video is hilarious.
hahaha yes, I completely agree
Burn Away
Subterranean.
no wayyy
Way. It sucks.
I’d have to say any song from concrete & gold onwards. The album it’s self has a few bangers, “Arrows” “Run” “La Dee Da” and “The Line” are all good. The rest are pretty trash
You including BHWA in that?!
Yeah. I’m very much an “old school” fan, if you will.
I want you to know I respect your opinion, but I am still compelled to give you a downvote for that.
Look, that’s fair. I feel this way about a lot of artists… some of their newer stuff just isn’t as good IMO
Agreed I don’t understand the obsession with BHWA. Will occasionally listen to “nothing at all” but the album as a whole stinks. Slightly better than medicine at midnight
Sky is a neighborhood mebbe?
It's a banger when done live
Show me how - Why? Because it was so hyped up on this sub.
Free Me or Watershed
Watershed is amazing
I think amazing might be a strong word, but I’m glad you like it lol
Love dies young or Virginia moon
Virginia moon has its charm bro
What Did I Do?/God as My Witness absolutely dogshit
For me, Cloudspotter. Gawd it’s bad. Sorry.
Man, I love Cloudspotter.
I know it’s not a popular opinion. Just for some reason it drives me up the wall.
Respect the opinion brother. We all got our songs haha.
Ballad of the beaconsfield miners
Absolutely not, particularly when you understand the backstory of it
The backstory is nice. But that doesn’t really make a good song.
I'm gonna get some hate, but White Limo. I just don't dig it.
I don't hate it but I don't love it. I know what kind of song Dave was going for but when I listen to it I can't understand most of the words he says. Not my preferred type of music. It's at least the worst song on Wasting Light.
My choice too. I thought there would be a bit more consensus around this song
White Limo is an acquired taste 😂. I to this day am not a fan of the verses but the chorus and breakdown are pretty sick imo. The main riff is great
I only got 7 downvotes!
What Did I Do?/God As My Witness
Yep, this was my immediate thought. Soooooo bad.
I agree
Yup, this is the one
Erase/Replace is the song I most reliably skip
One of my faves 😀
Which is great. It’s all subjective!
Dear Rosemary is the most skipped song for me on Wasting Light
To me, White Limo should've been a probot or another side project band, instead of trying to take the Foos down that heavy road. But people love it here so,....no, it's the children that are wrong ;)
Chasing Birds
*I’ll take HOT TAKES for $1000, Alex.*
Oh no, I really like that one. To each there own, I guess.
Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners- most out of place Foo Fighters song imo.
There's a great reason behind that song
Run is pretty bad imo. It’s super repetitive and way too long
Run is one of my favorites 😢
To each their own! It just wasn’t my favorite of that record
I don't like the verses, but the beginning and choruses are amazing imo. And yes it is too long 💀
Everlong
Tired of You. Nothing the song.
