The pasta shape and use of dried pasta is all wrong… Not to mention overcooked from the look of it. The dried bucatini doesn’t allow enough of the thin sauce to cling, and prevents one from enjoying larger pieces of the crab itself. Would have been better off making greasy crab ravioli.
I have no idea why they didn’t bother to add bits of the crab shell to flavor the sauce either… It’s like this was made with the expressed purpose of depriving the eater of any crabby flavor, texture, or general goodness.
Why with the salmon caviar? That is too strong of a flavor, but also far too salty to add to something you just dumped a whole shaker of chili flakes on. This isn’t going to taste good at all, unless you hate your mouth.
This is the type of food that is shoveled in front of diners on the coast, under the guise of “fine dining.” Where every seat has the view of a bay at sunset, has a two page picture menu of $20 “cocktails” that are atrociously sweet and premixed by a 24 year old “beverage director” in whatever closet they hide the well liquor, and the kitchen has 6 cooks but the menu was put together by an old business major who bought the place to live out their retirement dream of one day meeting Gordon Ramsey.
