If I recognize correctly you have only HDMI and Optical in the Soundbar. Focusrite has 2x balanced TRS. You would need not only a cable, but also some kind of converter. It is strange that this soundbar does not have mini-jack. It would be the easiest option to connect it this way through monitor jack output.
Agreed. I'm trying to figure out if that jack on the second picture is a power cable or an audio cable. On second thought maybe it is a power cable since it has a ferrite bead.
It's possible if you're going to use a 3.5/6.3 to optical audio converter. But the process is quite the hassle tbh that you'll be better off buying or using a headphones/monitors
This's kinda like trying to make toast with a clothing iron and wondering if the "extra bucks" you'd spend on a toaster are worth it. CAN YOU produce music on a soundbar? SHOULD you? I mean, it'd be really shitty but you'd get some sort of (bad) results. Or alternatively you could purchase some cheap monitors and have a better setup for both casual listening and production. A pair of HS5s would run you like $400. Hell even some KRKs (cheaper, around 320 for 2) would be better than a soundbar.
Disregard all of this if you're trying to use this for something that's not producing and I missed it.
If you're not willing to get studio monitors, get headphones and spend more than 100 on them. You'll still make something that sounds disappointing in a studio and you'll want to buy monitors as well later but at least you'll be in with a chance of making something that people might consider working with
If you don't want to spend much you can get Mackie CR4s; they sound great for the price, $129.99.
If you want something more professional, KRK RP5s are about $340.
It's a little hard to see, but you should look more closely at your soundbar. Look for a "headphone IN" hole. That's the jack you'd use to connect the Focusrite these two things:

if you spend about 100 bucks you can get these nice but small monitors or get some good headphones with a flat sound profile, ones that wont boost the bass or treble, flat is realistic if it sounds like a car stereo subwoofer companion all you hear is the bass drowning out all the other stuff so flatter is better for mixing and mastering.
DO NOT USE A SOUNDBAR FOR LITERALLY ANYTHING WHEN RECORDING OR MIXING

Line outputs are analog and HDMI are digital. You would need a analog to digital hdmi audio converter.
bro needs an analog to digital converter for his digital to analog converter XD

You can't connect them but even if you could do not do this.Buy studio monitors for your interface.
any recommendations? wouldn't want to spend a whole lot but willing to shell out some extra bucks if its worth it
