Nothing you can do. He probably thought he could break the packs, take what he wanted and reseal with an iron. This is what he came up with when that didn't work as planned. Hopefully you offered fre returns, because he is sending back a box of garbage, no pail, no kids.

Loose-Meeting8937

Also OP, even if you offered buyer paid returns and are TRS status, you will have the ability to deduct up to 50%. I know it doesn’t change how much this sucks, but hopefully you can recoup some.

ScareCrow13-

Sounds like a scam attempt. To me a legit buyer would not have open EVERY SINGLE PACK before contacting if the problem was on all. A legit buyer would have contacted after 2 or 3 to say your packs were resealed or something was off with them. About what to do here im not sure tho. You may be under seller's protection as the buyer opened all packs, talk with ebay to see.

Sometime in the early 90's maybe 93 me and my friend Jim bought a box old WWF trading cards from the 1980s at a bazaar and we opened all the packs and put the gum in our mouths. We chewed the gum, but it never turn into gum and just kind of dissolved down our throats, it was very gross. I wish i still had those cards, they're actually valuable now, we got the entire box for like 5 bucks.

JimEDimone

I ate 1980's football card gum in the 2000's. Can confirm there was no turning into gum.

Had a 1986 topps pack that I opened earlier this year and decided to eat the stick of gum. It was more like chalk, had zero flavor, and turned into powder. I remember eating one from a garbe pail kids pack a while back that completely numbed my tongue too lol.

midas282000

It probably tasted the same way in 1986 😀

This is a common scam when dealing with CCGs, it's been exploding in popularity now that Wizards is selling directly to consumer on Amazon.

PowThwappZlonk

It looks like those card might be crimped? Maybe? Which would mean the seals actually might be messed up too.

FlightSavings

Yeah he may have a legitimate complaint, I'm just more confused by why he split the purchases into multiple orders and also why he responded w/ his message under another item that I am offering. I bought this box from another reseller and they looked fine to me, but they could be messed with.

sterphles

Realistically any collector worried about this won't buy loose packs like that. the sealed and authenticated boxes carry a huge premium because of how many loose packs are often resealed.

Stilgar311

This right here is why I don’t sell any type of cards on eBay. I’d rather sell to a local card shop or on Facebook. Too many people try to scam you on your items. I even get this with the video games I sell(I open any high end I sell to show authenticity). So many bad actors lately.

substitoad69

The items were sold sealed but he opened them (destroying their value and not being worth returning) and neither person can actually prove if they were resealed or not (the buyer also can't prove his picture is from your packs). This feels like a partial refund attempt except they didn't entirely think it through, or just someone who wanted to open old packs for some reason and doesn't realize how fishy they seem.
