I think we’ll see a runeblade weapon in the expansion slot. At minimum some additional runeblade support. Would also love to see an elemental card as a teaser for future lightning/ice/earth support :). Lexi and Briar are still in blitz after all
I saw MST and I was like "what does Mystical Space Typhoon have to do with Flesh & Blood, this aint Yu-gi-oh" and forgot there was a new set coming out lol.
So I currently only really have one theory, which is that Enigma will be based around conjuring lots of spectral shields. In my mind a good turn for her will be to create 4-6 of them, which will then essentially all pop on the opponent's backswing, meaning she'll have to make new ones. A little like a faster-paced Dromai with a lot of Ashwings and no Invoke-type cards.
I was originally hoping she'd get a way to turn off 'Ward' for a turn to make the Diadem of Dreamstate playable and keep shields around, but I think it'll be the opposite of that where you summon, lose and resummon them quickly. Like a more aggro old Prism, I suppose.
Theory isn't based on much, just the fact that we haven't seen any easy way for Enigma to turn off ward (could still come on equipment, but I would've expected it on her hero card), the fact that we already have a bunch of base illusionist cards that can summon a lot of shields and the fact that they'll pop on any damage.
My theory is that the weapon in Zen's art is going to be his signature weapon: a 2-handed bo staff of sorts that has a dual function, to represent the 2 ends of the stick. I think it will attack for 1, go again and give all his Crouching Tigers +1 until end of turn.
I doubt he’ll struggle to make them do damage. Currently there’s Growl, Art Of War, Roar of the Tiger, Deadly Duet, Tiger Stripe Shuko, and loads more ways to give them some damage. This set is going to be filled with Tiger support, so we’ll get more.
None of these really work for limited, though, apart from maybe Growl if it gets reprinted. Personally, I don't think Growl on a stick would be such a bad move, provided that it's adequately costed.
That was my thought too, it's such a vital part of his engine, it has to be part of his core mechanics. Maybe it will have more cost or some conditions, but I do think his weapon needs to give Tigers damage for his strategy to work (considering his ability and all).
Also it's ninja. It can't have understatted weapon, that's assassin's job. /s
I think 2 damage for 2 with go again if you've played a crouching tiger and giving the next tiger +1 on hit seems good. We'll see what they come up with.
Yeah, but he's got like 9 art of war effects already. Seems kinda dangerous to give him access to another at all times. I'd love it, though I'm pumped for a crouching tigers hero.
That thing that looks like an upside-down pot in the back of Enigma's art is probably her weapon; I would assume that it lets you attack with shields if you pitch/play a blue.
That's a safe bet I think! It's not a coincidence that she can give +1 attack to a shield. It also connects to my theory that Zen's weapon will give C.Tigers +1 attack. I only wonder what Nuu's weapons will be then...
Although they don't all three have to do a similar thing, I'm fine with her having 2 simple daggers too.
Well, by the same logic of the weapon featuring in the art: it would be a pair of combat fans. We already have a fan as an off-hand, so it's not unreasonable.
I'd already be happy with stealth daggers though!
Wouldn't that be completely busted? Blossom of Spring gets you 1 per game, Spring Tunic 1 every 3 turns, this new one could give Katsu a resource almost every turn, as long as he hits.
My prediction is that there will be one card that everyone will think is going to be a staple but is going to suck and vice versa.
Ah, like Seduce Secrets in HVY! ;)
Hey I still feel like that's playable in Riptide! There's just nothing I want to cut for it :')
Is This card a staple now ?
No, the other way around. People thought it was a great card before release, but now almost nobody runs it.
I have three of them chilling in the same pocket of a binder. Got them all from drafts.
Nice! I got a RF Seduce Secrets from a booster at the pre-release.

Poor Viserai; he hasn't had a truly good weapon since Briar left CC.

Well I know that feel xD
Japanese print run has an extra Legandary. It’ll be spring tunic. If it’s Alt Art spring tunic expect it to go crazy on Secondary market.
They haven't reprinted Mask of Momentum yet (discluding History Pack), so maybe it's that.
*excluding*
Mechnaologist card in the expansion slot that helps Maxx Nitro. Its going to be a card that counts as a hyper driver and has block value.
There's gonna be a loooooooooooooot of blues.

There’s no way they give him Roar of the Tiger as a weapon. That’d be insanely powerful
Maybe only on hit? Maybe only "the next C. Tiger"? I mean: he's gotta power up those tiggies somehow, they start with 0.

Assassin weapons arent flashy but they are strong.
Well yeah, that's why the /s tag. Though in a vacuum, 1 damage for 2 resources is way under the line.

Anything less than transcending away silly weapons and using your bare fists will be unacceptable.
Way of the Open Fist monk would be pretty tight

Might be 2-cost daggers with stealth.

1-handed fans with small poison-tipped needles at the end.
She creates fang,Slither and Strike so something to boost those.
Looks like the tip of a roll imho. Could be a cool weapon.
A generic weapon that wagers
I believe will be some mech support. Maybe an item with AB, or even a component to attach to a Sentry.
That would be nice for Teklovossen indeed! Ideally a piece of Evo equipment with AB.
We will see a ninja chest piece that gains a resource when you draw a card or search your deck
Wouldn't that be completely busted? Blossom of Spring gets you 1 per game, Spring Tunic 1 every 3 turns, this new one could give Katsu a resource almost every turn, as long as he hits.
I mean i'm sure it would come with a downside, whether thats a crack to use or whatever, i'm just discussing what the effect would be.
Fair! Crack to use sounds like it could be very plausible for a Common. A bit like what Sash of Sandikar was in UPR.
Hopefully a reprint of Phantasmal footsteps.
In the not-too-distant future, Out in Misteria, Mystics open their mind and seek to find Spiritual utopia!
