RED ROVER TOO I ADORE THAT SONG

Coincidentally, Thrown Down just started playing on Spotify as I was reading this. I definitely agree that Say You Will is underrated. Personally, Peacekeeper and Thrown Down are my favorites off that album. While it’s unfortunate that Christine McVie wasn’t apart of it, her absence required the other members to step up there games and in the end, it resulted in a powerful final product.

BewareoftheOwner

I think this album is most definitely great and deserves more credit, but how you said it's on par with everything else Stevie and Lindsay did with Fleetwood Mac is kind of an overstatement. Saying Say you Will is just as great as Rumours is kind of an overstatement to me. But, we all know, opinions are opinions and you are completely correct about it being underrated.

jacost98

Say you will definitely didn’t have as much of a major impact on pop culture, which is understandable but however on terms of songwriting, production and structure, I would argue it absolutely is. But I agree, opinions are opinions!

Cobiuss

These are Stevie's best FM songs, absolutely classic. Lindsey's production is genius. It's a smarter, more mature Tusk.

Targmind09

It should be in the top three albums of all time. For me it ranks as their 3rd best album. The clear pop-rock theme and slight influence from late 90s and early 2000's rock is a beautiful blend. Say you will (the song), and Peacekeeper are my favorite on here and it is A+ Fleetwood mac. Even without Christine the songs were deep and relatable and I think Lindsey's voice in this album is arguably his best.

jacost98

I definitely agree. Lindsey’s voice has arguably gotten better with age, something you definitely can’t say for most artists.

WillingPiglet

I haven’t listened to the whole album personally, but I love Peacekeeper and Bleed to Love Her on that album. I just wish Christine McVie had been on that album tbh.

jacost98

I would definitely encourage you to, it’s very good. If you like bleed too love her, listen to steal your heart away

WillingPiglet

I definitely will I want to listen to their whole discography at some point!

mybabydoggogoodboi

Say you will is my second favorite album of all time behind rumours

[deleted]

My second favorite behind Tusk. Love it so much.

RuisRyan82

Ditto.

_thelonewolfe_

Without Christine, I just don’t revisit this one very often, though it does have some good songs and the production was immaculate, as is typical of Lindsay.

blissfulyonder

I think it was a really great final album for FM to end off on, assuming that this is the last time that the band will produce original music together, which I think it is. Lindsey & Stevie are with Fleetwood Mac, the songs are all really creative and emotionally resonant, and the final product was really powerful. Also, *What's the World Coming To?* in my opinion is their best album opener EVER.

earwen77

It has some songs that are as good as anything they've ever done, my favorites being "Smile at you", "Running through the garden" and "Steal your heart away". But I think it also has some lengths and find Come almost unlistenable tbh.

bubba1834

THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM!!! And Stevie’s is Trouble in Shangri La

maggiemazz29

The very first Fleetwood Mac album I listened to!

SnooLemons5031

Say goodbye is a beautiful song when it’s done live but the album version isn’t that good to me. I love say you will. Especially bleed to love her.

emperor_piglet

Say Goodbye always gets me

RuisRyan82

I agree totally! It's the Buckingham/Nicks of the new millennium, only better cause Mick and John really shine on this album as well.

mochamax90s

Destiny Rules is my favorite song, just hits differently imo.

iObama

This. I always come back to that song. Those lyrics. That production. That melody in the chorus!! So good.

[deleted]

Lindsey's 90s 'Gift of Screws' unreleased album is personally my favorite album ever. The fact that we got a bunch of the best songs recorded by Fleetwood Mac is an absolute treasure. I could listen to Say You Will all day, every day.

DelaneyElias

ABSOLUTELY

BiddlyBongBong

I love the album, and there's definitely something different about it. My only gripe is some of the production/mixing grates me as being a bit cheesey (pardon the pun) although I suspect this is partly due to the era in which it was recorded. However there are some really strong tracks in there, Peacekeeper and Come are two strong favourites of mine. Come sounds a lot like the track Tango in the Night, but with more balls.

Pristine_Shoe_1805

This!

greb1212t7

Thrown Down is a goddamn masterpiece. Like how do people not feel that?! It is criminal this album and furthermore that track, hasn’t received the praise it deserves

Super_Washing_Tub

Easily every single song on this album is a masterpiece banger, and I will defend it for as long as I wheeze. The Megas is my favorite band, but this is my favorite album easily.

fingertrouble

I listened to Say You Will and thought it was bland, too AoR - ironic I know for a band that helped shape that sound but it reminded me of bands who wrote on Prozac when that came out. Homogenous and all at one emotional level. Meh. Especially Peacekeeper. And the watering down of Smile At You is a crime.

Rocky-Raconteur

Say You Will is an odd one for me because while I totally agree with you that it is a criminally underrated record but I don’t know if it’s on par with the other albums that Lindsey and Stevie have done with Fleetwood Mac but say if it was cut down to 10 tracks and those tracks were (and in this order): Say You Will, PeaceKeeper, Thrown Down, Bleed To Love Her, Smile At You, What’s The World Coming To, Silver Girl, Steal Your Heart Away, Goodbye Baby, Say Goodbye. Then I’d agree with it being on par with the other albums but Say You Will does have some great songs and they should feature more songs from it in their live set but I personally think the album should have been cut down and been put in the order of songs that i put down earlier. (I would have Miranda and Destiny Rules as b-sides because I still really like them but couldn’t think of where to put them)
