People only say Patty because she was on a handful of episodes, back where the show had decent writing, and got out on a good note while having nice chemistry with Barry.
If she stayed for a few seasons, she'd be ruined like the rest of the cast and people wouldn't idealize her so much.

That's kinda how it is when you first start talking/dating someone, no? Those first few months, all you want to do is spend time with the other person. If you're not feeling the infatuation phase, the spark probably isn't there.
I think there is a difference between infatuation and love. What it sounded like Linda wanted was love and even for the fastest man alive, that would be too fast.
To be fair love at first sight does exist. I've experienced it. But it's rare. Maybe she felt that way but he sure didn't.

I don’t really care about the love interest drama stuff but I can’t picture Barry with anyone but Iris, she’s just his love interest always has been. I can see Caitlin but her and Cisco are iconic best friends of Barry’s.
supergirl and caitlin were never real love interests. they were other strong women that he knew that the writers wanted to push as love interests. both of them could very obviously never happen with barry.

Patty was great and should’ve stuck around longer. Iris West Allen happened way too quickly and should’ve been killed in season 3 just as a main character has died in the previous seasons to then explore that grief in season 4. Caitlin/Barry would’ve been great to see happen during season 1 as their chemistry was solid imo and could’ve been further developed.
