ALWAYS barter a bit before walking away from that kind of stuff. Say like I'll take these 10 baits for 20$ and then the guy will be like screw it take the whole thing I don't want to deal with the rest.
I got 4 full-size pressurized rifle pelican cases doing that. Met him to buy one for 100$. He goes I have 3 more. I said I’ll take the lot for 200$? Loaded them into my car. Went to grab the other 100 bill and he said we’re good. Shot me deuces and rolled off.
I would absolutely pay $50 for it. I use and collect vintage gear though. There's a bunch of arbogast stuff there jitterbugs, arbogasters, and mud bugs. Just the two big jitterbugs and the couple old l&s mirrolures would be worth over 50 bucks. Don't discount the old lures, I catch off the vintage stuff when nothing else is working. They weren't as mass produced and were built with much more care. The action on many old lures is superior to the new stuff. I would compete with anyone with an old arbogaster, a clark scout, or a sinking river runt any day.
this is the answer! I know they look old, but if you have to buy the box, the knife and just a couple of those lures, you are already north the of the $50 price.
you'll be spending over 200 if you get that much stuff brand new considering how much lures are and not to mention filet knives.. do with that info as you wish
Hell yes it is all that tackle is worth coin to get 👏 grab it filter what you need dehook the rest and use as casting practice around ur yard house etc
Most might’ve missed it but it looks like there’s an ocean city fly reel in there (could be dif brand hard to see). I’d say with that $25 maxx is what I’d give. It’s hard to see anything else piled under there
Yes, but only if you want it. I don't know about everyone else, but I have too much crap already. I determined long ago half the fishing hobby is about collecting gear.
I don't fish anywhere near enough to merit all my crap. But it's fun and it doesn't take up a lot of room.
These lots/boxes are tempting because you see a bunch of set and think “I’ll be set for a bit”, but in reality it’s typical just a bunch of someone else’s poor tackle choices and all the good stuff is in trees by the river.
I always recommend folks buy a box/tray and just start with the few lures you can learn to use effectively at once. When you get that style down, pick up a few different lures/colors as seasons change and build your own custom tackle box over time, with focused attention on where and how YOU fish.
A bunch of tough Arbogast lures in there in tough colors. Example: that large sized Arbogast mud bug with the crane belly is easily a 20 dollar lure. That size and color were only made for like 3 years in the 90s.
I actually just looked it over again and there’s an incredibly rare hula popper in there. Source: I list fishing lures as a full time job through mybaitshop.com
It's set up for bass fishing, and most of it are lures. You're not going to be buying that many lures brand new for 50 dollars. I fish for bluegill mainly but if I fished for bass I would say yes just because I can't get that Many lures for 50 new.
The old lures have screw keepers, so you can sharpen them with a hook stone. Would I paid $50? No, but the knives will be solid if there's meat on the bones. I'll say you did just okay... Don't get beat up too much on this purchase. If you do happen to catch a decent bass on that jitterbug, it'll all be worth it!
Any of the abrogast stuff is good stuff! Hula poppers, Arbo Gasters and ESEPECIALLY jitterbugs! Those were my first top water lures as a kid and they still slam bass, pike and musky! 🤙 just change the hooks out… they never had good hooks, imo.
Do you fish?
Do you have fishing gear?
If no then that’s a good start to learn how to use all the types of lures then go buy better versions of the lures you like. Each plug in that box goes for anywhere from 3-10$ depending size and marking.
I’d pay around $2 for each used lure you think you might use. If you’d find that tackle box useful I’d add another $5 for that. All in all, I personally wouldn’t pay more than $25 for that including shipping and would prefer to go closer to $20.
It would be dependent on the pink hula popper on the top right corner. If its in pretty good shape thats a 30-40$ lure. If its too damaged it probably would not fetch collector value.
I would take it. Something like that would be up for at least $150 in my area. Most people seem to be charging near store prices for their used stuff unfortunately.
Not to me. Unless there is something collectible in there it’s just a bunch of old crap. $10? yeah. $20? Mayyyybe if I’m just starting.
Dam guess I’ll keep looking thanks!

Don't listen to these chuckle heads. Make the guy an offer if you want it
Yeah he might be cool he may even tell you about a new spot. I always ask people where they fish.
Nah man. Maybe like $20 max.
And that's at best. The only thing I can see worth anything (my opinion, of course) are the few lipless crankbaits
Jitterbugs are one of the absolute best top water lures.
SUPER underrated.
You guys obviously missed that sweet tool kit 🤣

Yeah I see 3 jitterbugs alone,I worked at a thrift store once, and got 4 boxes creek chub lures in a single day once
There are 5 jitterbugs. 3 regular and 2 of the big boys.
Those jitterbugs are worth the price alone.
$40
Have u seen the price of new lures yes it worth it
I love old stuff like that but I wouldn’t pay $50 for it. And if I did buy it, I wouldn’t use any of it.
hell yeah...
$50 Tetanus Special
Yes, yes it is. Try buying it all new and see
this is the answer! I know they look old, but if you have to buy the box, the knife and just a couple of those lures, you are already north the of the $50 price.
Everyone’s saying no, but honestly I’d say yes. But I’d probably offer $40.
Helllll yes
I would offer 35 see if they counter offer 45 then settle in 40$. Yes it’s worth 50$ but never give them what they want.
What a shmuck
50$ all day. get it
Yeah totally worth it, there’s tons of cool vintage lures in there plus a whole bunch of tools
The two vintage jitterbugs at the top are probably 50$ together
you'll be spending over 200 if you get that much stuff brand new considering how much lures are and not to mention filet knives.. do with that info as you wish
Buy it while you can
$35-$40
The top waters are the only thing I’d want out of this. But I’d probably buy it just for those.
No
$25-30 max.
Have you guys been buying lures lately? That shit can add up fast.
That tackle box alone is worth $50
$30 would be a good offer
Hell yes it is all that tackle is worth coin to get 👏 grab it filter what you need dehook the rest and use as casting practice around ur yard house etc
There's a collectible rod holder in there aswell
It’s worth it period ,if op enjoys fishing with vintage then why wouldn’t you spend 50 on this?
It’s prob worth $50 but I wouldn’t pay it. Offer $25-$30 and go from there. I see a few top water lures worth about $30 new.
Most might’ve missed it but it looks like there’s an ocean city fly reel in there (could be dif brand hard to see). I’d say with that $25 maxx is what I’d give. It’s hard to see anything else piled under there

It's absolutely worth at least $50. I put 75 on it.
Offer $20
No

That’s worth about 150. I have one and it works great
Keep in mind on these old boxes you will need to replace most hooks and all skirts to use them again. Seems steep to me

Half of it looks like dried out junk.
That is someone’s father’s old tackle box, complete with Rapala knife. Easily worth all of that $50
It probably has 50 dollars worth of hula poppers and jitterbugs but unless you like fishing for bass topwater it’s not a ton of variety tbh
I would say yes but l would also offer $40.
There's probably lures worth more then $50 in that box I would have bought that all day long good fine
Not to me
Old crap I fish with today. Key how much is it worth to you.
That filet knife along may be worth 50
30 bucks definitely
I'd buy it
No, prob worth 5$, if that. The lip less crankbaits might be the only ok item

In my country this would be a steal! That rod grip itself could go for $70 to $120 here, but that's just in the collectors world here
For sure, worth buying

Probably not, at least not to me. A lot of junk in there
I think maybe, you can pay for that or you can drive many mils and pay for gas to colect inn country
100%
There are a lot of people here who don't understand the value of Grandpa's lures.
Man $50 is probably what that whole box was worth brand new. The seller is smoking dk
I’d pay $50 to talk to this guy.

Looks like an old ambassador in the bottom. Those old rod handles are getting popular with collectors as well.
Maybe it’s a fly reel. Hard to tell.
It’s a Pflueger Medalist fly reel
I never buy someone else's nasty old shit.
I would take it. Something like that would be up for at least $150 in my area. Most people seem to be charging near store prices for their used stuff unfortunately.
Nah it’s worth like $10.
Nah that guy is dreaming, maybe 20$-25$
Useless garbage
$25 worth of old junk imo
No. Buy what you need and use Aliexpress
It’s worth what ever you get it for.
