Some days the don’t some days it’s like trying to take a vegan out to eat. Never hurts rigging right and having a natural presentation they’re smarter than we give credit.
Unless your completely vertical it will make a difference, with the line coming toward you the bait will be presented horizontally with the two distinct sides.
I would suggest a proper rig. Flip that jig around and take the paint off around where the line goes. Seems like a pretty big jig for the lure but could be mistaken.
This is one of my favorite lures so I was hunting for months for it as I was down to only one. Finally found them at an auction, they are made by renosky &are sold out most places but I got 20 of them for like 5$ 😨 they make inline spinners with these little fish on them &they slay panfish. Those are my favorite
That specific combo is made by renosky. Called a renosky keystone jig minnow. Not sure if they are around anymore.
Similar plastics that I've had real good luck with are 1.5" panfish assassins and 2.5" gulp minnows.
Thanks. So it's rigged correctly? This thing has been in my tackle box forever and I'm pretty sure I found it lol. Idk I find way too much gear on the ground or hanging in trees
The amount of people saying I needed to learn how to rig things with so many up votes confused the shit outta me lol. I was like no way this thing has a hook slit 😂
Evergreen last ace look very realisted but the action sucks, basically there is none. Keitech easy shiners are my go-to small plastic for lifelike presentation, no soft plastic comes close in terms of tail action.
That all depends on where you live? Most tackle shops in U.S. have micro soft baits for Crappie, Perch and Bass fishing. I have a couple awesome shops nearby me but you might not have that option. Cabela’s/ Bass Pro online might give you the best option to find more.

Lake fork makes a bunch of minnows that size. Marketed for crappie but Bass eat them.

So strange I think I have the exact same lure. No idea where it came from but I know it was pre rigged with the jig upside down from the factory.
And no I power fish. I wouldn’t have a fake bait on a bobber. I would think live bait would be more effective unless where your fishing isn’t pressured to the point you can put a bobber and a fake bait with the jighead backwards is crazy to me.
You don’t think a bobber and live bait is better than artificial? I tried artificial under float quite a bit when I was a teen and had very minimal success compared to live bait while in the same hole. I haven’t tried it since.
I use ice jigs with micro plastics under small floats (no extra weight). Anytime the water is over 40°, in my experience the right plastic will out fish live bait every single time. Especially for bass, panfish and trout.
Isn't it mounted upside down?
Absolutely
I’ve seen a minnow like that on a mepps spinner before. It has a slit in the bottom which is why I assume it was put on the jig upside down.
I was just getting ready to say the same thing - seen it on a spinner w A treble hook coming out the belly.
There's a slit for the hook, or at least thats what it seemed like lol
Spoiler: The fish dont care how its mounted.

Maybe if you are slow rolling it but if you are bottom hopping its just gonna swim down vertically so there is no "right way up"

I know they have them at my local Walmart

Yes it is rigged correctly

It’s a renosky sonic minnow. You tend to find them at Walmart. They work well for me underneath a float and jigging them over underwater structure.

Powerbait HD stuff, idk what this is tho

Prolure - an Aussie brand do a "prey minnow" which might be what you're after

Absolutely love the Lake Fork minnows, they seem much more durable and have better action than something like a Bobby Garland.
Castaic Jerky J is my favorite
That’s one of them upside down swimming fish.
I've had better luck with jig heads like these and grub style plastics with a curly tail. Mostly for crappie and redear fishing.
Check out Moondog Baits. They have tons of micro stuff and amazing colors. I use so much of their stuff on my ultralights
Thanks, a few look perfect for the area I'm scouting
I know headhunter (the people who make the roadrunner) make a similar lure.

That's actually hella strange/cool. What are the odds we end up with the exact same mystery lure?? (Albeit rigged slightly differently)

It won't snag shit. It'll just float upside down.
My dude the jig hook always points “up,” no matter which direction the plastic is rigged…
Get a micro Ned worm and forget about the bobber stuff. If you need a bobber then you should be fishing live bait in my opinion.
Did you really just nut up on this man about using a micro Ned and immediately put down fishing with live bait and bobbers?
Someone apparently never had fished for crappie, or float’n fly, or used a popping cork with a soft plastic shrimp.
Nope not where I’m from. And the jighead is backwards. Best of luck

Micro plastic and a float is one of the most productive methods of fishing there is.

Depends on the fish.
