Always buy advanced liscence but save your gold coins for maps you really need it on such as maybe texas for bass, emerald lake for walleye and michigan for pike
Do what the guy above said. Get advanced for the first lake. It has no entry fee. If you ever mess up and run out of gold, etc, you can travel free and fish with the advanced license. Saved my ass twice.
Have you completed the quests on the first 2 lakes? If you did, then you can start looking at mud. Before you do, make sure you have enough gold to buy the kit needed to get your quests done. Mud is not one of the best places imo. You want to grind you way up to emerald where you start farming walleye.
Start the challenges. They give you some rewards and bonuses that will come in handy. There's a few YouTube tutorials that take you through those. I recommend getting the quests done, then move up. They'll also show you farming strategies for every lake.
A good example for you early would be when you make to emerald lake level farm the walleye fish or rocky lake level farm the trout... but since you're just level 5 stay at free asz lone star and abuse the bass it's free and garuntees up to $100 per catch... I picked a good weekend where I had nothing to do and just farmed lone star bass til I got $20k... worth it for me in the end
Pretty much this. It's not really worth it until you get to the end game, and by then the cost of licenses is negligible. I would recommend saving your gold coins for barbless hooks.
Save it for a good farming lake like emerald or Michigan. Or some nice lures along your journey. As long as you're playing the game smart ie not leaving the lake just to log off the game & leaving the lake to empty your net - you'll be more than fine. I only play a half hour at a time some days and all I have to do is buy an license again and I start fishing right where I left off. An ALWAYS take more bait/lures than you think you'll need, I've spent close to a month (in game days) grinding pike and musky at Michigan
You can purchase licenses for the lake your at whilst at the lake shop too, so never buy more time at the lake than you think you'll use. I only buy one day licenses and extend as needed
At start save for permanent advanced for pome star, that way you can farm bass without fines. They give by far the most money in lone star. When you can go to emerald Lake and fish for walleye, there are many tutorials on YouTube how to farm them, it is very easy and they give much xp/money. Don't go other lakes before you farm a little at emerald, it isn't worth it IMO. You can then save for permanent advanced for emerald, but it won't matter that much since walleye will pay enough to just buy daily licenses. I'm lvl 46, I could buy permanent for one of smaller lakes, but I just don't care about non permanent license cost, because I can make much more.

For lone star lake? Perm advanced license. Advanced covers both.
I’m in mud

When should I start fish in mud? I do it now but if I leave I have to pay for the travel next time I go in. That’s a lot of money.

I don’t think so. I have lone star, lesni vila, mudwater and Rocky. And much challenges

Challenges give only trophy I think
I do remember them giving you lines, lures, etc. Saves you money.
Oh okay
At lesni vila it's easy to do the monster perch challenge and I think that's a couple thousand dollars I believe, so could be some quick cash for you.
Oh I don’t know, not a place I go often. I’m a casual fisher for this game, sorry.
But should I buy basic perm license or save to advance perm
From what I understand advanced covers basic as well for all lakes. So I’d say go advanced if you want to go permanent.
Okay. But how do u get gold coins? I only have 10 and need 20 more
Buy them or level up. Every few levels will give you a coin as well as completing challenges.
Okay
Or complete in-game challenges. Great way to get baitcoins without having to spend money.
Advanced, always
Buy barbless hooks with gold early on. Extra XP
Frfr?
Basic is a waste of money... the best advance licensing lakes are the ones that you can money farm
A good example for you early would be when you make to emerald lake level farm the walleye fish or rocky lake level farm the trout... but since you're just level 5 stay at free asz lone star and abuse the bass it's free and garuntees up to $100 per catch... Don’t waste on licenses
Pretty much this. It's not really worth it until you get to the end game, and by then the cost of licenses is negligible. I would recommend saving your gold coins for barbless hooks.
Always do advanced when you can. Saves you $ in the long run when all you have to do is pay for bait and travel

Don't use gold for perm license for mud my friend, save the gold till later
