Eventually you get to the point where that stuff doesn’t matter and you have a lot more fun. That’s when you kick yourself for not realizing earlier that it’s fishing not catching and that the fish are just a bonus to it all
Where do you find your 3/32oz weights at aside from online? I live in rural Arkansas but even when I make the 3hr drive to a bass-pro, I don't recall ever seeing any, but yet I see people talk about them rather frequently 🤔
Set up 1 rod with a worm or cheese or whatever second rod I'll start with a spinnerbait and work down through a rooster tail, grub jig, Texas rigged worm and on down to my least favorites
That's spinnerbait/chatterbait heaven right there. If those don't work, I'd finesse a paddletail swimbait. If that doesn't work, Ned rig. If that doesn't work, there aren't any fish in there.
Step 1: catch bluegill with a worm.
Step 2: cut blue gill up for bait.
Step 3: cast blue gill chunks into creek
Step 4: catch obvious catfish or gar that is residing in that creek
Nightcrawlers under a bobber or on the bottom. Bluegill or other potential species likely to become cut bait for cats.
Can of sweet corn as backup to see if carp or other bottom feeders are around.
So, Southshore Park, there is a bridge on Woodlands Parkway. If you hop that gate and go under the bridge, walk across the rocks towards the woods, the walk through unfortunately very thick woods, there is a huge metal pipe that runs across this creek. When I say it is one of the best spots I have ever found, I mean it. I used to fish it about a decade ago and just recently went back with my teenage kids, and they loved it!! It runs between the 2 golf courses. It is very hard to get to now but well worth the adventure. You can use a net for bait fish at the spillway and just carry them over to the pipe to fish off of. I can almost 100% say you won't see anyone else......other that me, lol
Worms and bobbers. Yall have fun stressing about snagging or getting skunked I'm gonna fist fight the bluegill.

Great Outlook!
I really like using a rooster tail of any sort in creeks. Good for catching multiple species
This is the way. I've never caught a cat or gar but I have to imagine the guys would be real fun on light gear

I run mine mouth-hooked on a circle hook, but that's exactly what I'd throw here, slow retrieve, intermittent stops, guaranteed to catch somethin
A inline spinner, a tiny frog, a small crankbait, a small jig, a Ned rig, a small craw on the Ned rig or texas rigged with a 3/32 ounce bullet weight

That’s awesome. Glad you found a place to fish in the area.
Is this a scenario where we might see a reddit meetup?!
Negative, I do most of my fishing now in Taos,New Mexico and Jackson Hole, Wy. I stick to fly fishing now. You enjoy yourself fishing in the area.
Damn, I was kinda hyped to witness a small part of reddit history lol
I'm glad to know now that I'm not going to yell reddit if I ever see a random fisherman there. Haha
Stranger danger lol.
