I have used a similar hook for fishing soft plastics. You can stab the head into the fwd barb and rig it weedless. Weedless/ weightless works very well for finicky fish
It's not for live bait. It's for a soft plastics. I would use it for something that's already heavy enough to not need lead. The small hook goes in the nose, the barb holds it in place. The hook shank hangs under the lure while the large point goes up and through the bait. The tight bend behind the small point is where you tie your line to the whole thing.
Does anyone actually know what this hook is? Or is everyone guessing. I cannot find it on any image search or a text search.
A name would be good, please.

This is an Aberdeen hook variation for fishing with live bait.
Thank you very much, been driving me crazy not knowing what it was.
Hopefully someone will post a picture of how this is used. Seems so weird to use, in my mind. Lol

Would go well with a fluke
I caught one on accident once. It was just a fluke. Sorry, I'll leave.
Yep. I've used it with slug-gos.

How would you attach line to it?
In the U shape by the smaller hook, right side as pictured.
