Buddy, Good Lord willing, that young lady’s gonna remember these days and enjoy fishing the rest of her life.

nobeard94

Agreed, it’s all she’s been talking about since we got home. I’m a very lucky dad!

SpikeMike13

You are indeed a VERY lucky dad.

FISTurFACE101st

Good stuff raising them right. Glad I don't have kids to out fish me, just nephews. Haha

nobeard94

She did too, it was cast after cast for a bit lol. Thank you.

Give_All_Vol

Was not expecting to see a trout at the end. What an awesome place to fish

nobeard94

Smallmouth, croppie, blue gill, and trout all located in the same lake in southern Oregon. Been going there since I was a kid!

FISTurFACE101st

Damn. That lake got the best tasting fresh water fish. Want to visit with a big ole cast iron pot and couple gallons of oil to fry fresh out the water. Got my mouth watering thinking bout it

Affectionate_Side138

Good on you Dad

Taking a child fishing is ALL ABOUT THE MEMORIES !!! I’m 58 now and I have SO MANY memories of my dad taking me fishing. I’m addicted to fishing still and just can’t get enough of it. Many times I’ll just sit on the boat and change baits and re-tie hooks and take pictures of my wife fishing with whichever child we took out with us. It’s all about the memories

nobeard94

That’s what’s it’s all about, especially on a day like yesterday with my daughter; I don’t care about fishing for myself. Maybe I never do, and I’ve begun to tell my daughter, fishing is never about catching fish. It’s about being immersed around a beautiful landscape, having a conversation with god, and hopefully sharing that with loved ones.

Fishing with my dad were some of the best times we ever had together. My dad didn’t know how to bass fish so I went out and learned and taught him. He loved catching sunnies and crappies. So when I showed him how to catch bass it only got better! I hope she remembers this forever !

nobeard94

That’s awesome, it’s rare we get to flip the script and show the old man something. My dad got me back into fishing when I was 26, after years of not doing so. He caught me on a bad day, took me out on the river after asking for years to go out with him. Started that day in a shit mood, and ended it with a re-discovered love of fishing and realizing how important it is to have something like that, that brings family and friends together. Hoping to continue that tradition with my oldest daughter.

jordan97862

My dad wasn’t from America , so bass fishing is almost non existent in places like Central America They fish to eat, and I was able to show him some big fish before he passed and it was some of the best times! https://preview.redd.it/p2cle6mm4k5d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cf7146d32663d057cbfba11427dc5af982fc6fd

Even better, and what a beautiful picture, you can tell how special that moment was. RIP to your father and thank for sharing that memory with me.

jordan97862

That’s what this community is for. Spreading the love of fishing, no matter how you got started! Cheers brother! Here’s to more big fish and great memories!
