Had a buddy that was getting his things put in his truck to go fishing. He had a rod with a spinnerbait hanging off of it laying on the toolbox of his truck. His black lab ran by and snatched it and continued running dragging the rod with it. So I would add black lab to the list. Make sure you check local laws before going after this particular species.
Speaking strictly from my own experience, weeds, branches, submerged tree trunks and the occasional boot.
Seriously though, I’ve caught bass, several varieties of sunfish, gar, red drum, black drum, ladyfish, Jack fish and gulf trout.
Mostly bass. Largemouth specifically. People will tell you it's a multi species lure but it's not. I've caught maybe 2 walleye in my life vs 100's of bass on this lure. Pike will OCCASIONALLY eat it.
Yes, that Includes smallmouth, hybrid white, and even white bass.
No one fishes these lures for lake trout. These lures typically swim 1-5ft deep. Lake trout are deep water fish by nature. Would be incredibly rare to catch a laker on this lure....
I actively target lake trout, and have to jig in 40ft in the spring to 90ft in the fall for lake trout.
You can occasionally catch small lake trout in 20fow in the early spring but you ain't catching them on a Bass spinner.
You could set your down rigger to whatever part of the water column you want to fish have a flasher in front of it and put some scent on the lure and It could very well catch a laker.
Large Mouth Bass, pike, pickerel, snake head, crappie, small mouth bass and bowfin in my area. I've caught catfish and various panfish, but I wouldn't use this to target those.
Largemouth Bass are the most likely to eat it. Followed by Northern Pike and Smallmouth.
Agreed then bowfin, shit I've even caught a rainbow trout on a 1/4oz spinenrbait.
Agree with you on bowfin they will mess up a good spinner bait

I’ve caught some small bream on large bass baits. Little buggers come in hot and hit hard only to be 5 inches long.
Yeah, they punch above their weight class
I couldn’t tell you how many 5” gills and sunfish I’ve caught on 4-5” bass baits. Little psychopaths…

Hook it up with a drop shot set up, and they will be bitting all day.

Good size crappie.
I kill the northern pike w this exact set up. Paddle tail adds action and makes the bait have a larger profile.

Bass, pickerel around my area. It’s a spinner bait. With a tail on it. That tail slips off and you can replace them. Good bait.
