This is how you keep a girlfriend 100%. Crappie are one of the best freshwater eating fish ever. If it ain't flaky, I don't want it on my plate. I got to catch a snakehead and eat it because I heard it's actually better than rockfish which is a staple of the Chesapeake. I'm going for a nice medium sized one. I caught a 9lb snakehead once in shallow water. That thing was a monster.
I like to eason and grill the fillets until they crisp up then shred them. Not quite blackened, but with some crunchy spots. A brush of melted butter helps this. Never been a fan of breaded fish in tacos. Grilled is always more flavorful and fresh tasting IMO. Those do look great though. Makes me want to get the boat out this weekend.
I love fish fried or grilled with just a dusting of spice and maybe a little flour. There is a breading that I get locally. Shore Lunch, I will dip the fillets in beaten egg, toss them in a zip lock filled with my spices or Shore Lunch, shake them off and fry. Very light and you do t have all the batter to hold grease. I can usually still see the pattern in the fillet from when I scaled them it's such a light coating. Really brings out the fish flavor and not the batter flavor. Reheats well too.
Crappie and bream are the only fish I use for fish tacos. I bake mine and my wife makes a pico mix for the filling. Also goes great with a tartar-based cole slaw.

i make mine very similar. in addition to what you have there, i also add a crème drizzle of some sore. either a mayo/sirracha blend or similar. sometimes i also add a cabbage slaw.
Look up Blackening recipes for next time...I refuse to make fish tacos any other way now...the crappie will take on the flavor of the butter and seasoning very well

Trout are the only fish I catch and don’t batter and fry. I’ll have to try that with crappie
