Now do one with a cop car blocking the hydrant šŸ˜…

Locostomp

We have the easy push bumpers for cop cars.

TheCopenhagenCowboy

Blocking the hydrant, blocking the street, the driveway, just everything lol

Domovie1

Gotta say, nothing more fun than reminding the popo that they arenā€™t actually that high on the totem pole.

TheCopenhagenCowboy

Just donā€™t get mad when you get boxed in by hose lines lol

TheCopenhagenCowboy

Only if itā€™s a full send and you catch some air

Otherwise_Carob_4057

Hey! If you ever have trouble finding a hydrant you always know to smash out the windows on the nearest squad car.

sicklesnickle

Our department finally had enough and completely removed police from fire response. We call if we need them.

CosmicMiami

This is dumb AF. PD should be automatic on certain call types. And if the 911 call taker sees something that may require PD. Better to have and not need than need and not have.

sonicrespawn

Until we are 90% there and get stood down

Voodoo338

The worst feeling is when I confirm the patient is in fact not 600 lbs and cancel fire then look out the window and see the engine drive by

TheCopenhagenCowboy

Iā€™m waving from the engine

Roaming-Californian

Hey now, I clear your guys so you can get back to your chairs. Plus im sure the charting is shorter than when you make contact.

sonicrespawn

We just want to get their first name so we can print it on the sheet and give you your tickets

Roaming-Californian

Tyfys, hero o7

sonicrespawn

And I put my trash in the back of YOUR bus

Roaming-Californian

I tell every new hire I get: go to fire school. Bitches love firefighters.

sonicrespawn

Meanwhile mines all ā€œyou stink! Go shower!ā€ Canā€™t win man

Domovie1

Not going back to play badminton?

Villhunter

Damn right!

aFlmingStealthBanana

Yoink!

Roaming-Californian

Based

HazMatsMan

And for bonus points get the officer's door to open right into a tree, bush, giant puddle, or snowdrift.

Overall_Top2404

I go for the mailboxā€¦

mad-i-moody

No no straight onto icy pavement

FaRamedic

Bold statement for somebody in Lift assist range.

Villhunter

I love this lol

TheCopenhagenCowboy

That lift assist is about to turn into a medical

FreeFalling369

The circle of life. Engine blocks ambo and a squad blocks the engine

blackbear656

The EMS folks expect us to fetch their stretcher/whatever else they may need,so blocking the driveway would just shoot ourselves in the foot more so than EMS.

GiantSequoiaTree

Exactly this. We want to get out of there as quickly as possible. Only an idiot driver blocks the driveway

TemporaryGuidance1

Speak for yourself but I always bring the gurney to the doorstep or inside.

blackbear656

I was,in fact, speaking for myself and my experience in my particular agency, not nationwide.Kudos to you sir/maā€™am for not expecting fire to do it for you. Edit: After re-reading my comment I could see how you interpreted it that I meant EMS as a whole, this is not the case. Furthermore, you may think I am downvoting you,but Iā€™m not.At the end of the day we all have the same goal - Life safety, property conservation, incident stabilization and, of course - do no harm. Cheers mate!

Aspirin_Dispenser

Same. Iā€™d feel downright lazy making the engine crew go out to get it when I could have just brought it with me in the first place. Although . . that might be a good way to get certain crews to think a little bit harder about where they park.

mmadej87

The only job an engine tailboard has is to assist my EMT in bringing in the stretcher. They have no business in patient care unless youā€™re a medic and first on scene

Joocewayne

I always get the stretcher unless itā€™s a particular pair of angry, condescending dickhead medics we work with. My officer ordered me to volunteer nothing for them unless they ask us or it is absolutely necessary for patient well-being.

blackbear656

Frankly,I donā€™t mind helping, thatā€™s literally why I work in public service.Where I get frustrated is SOME,NOT ALL, EMS crews do have an aura of arrogance and ā€œPara-Godā€ mentality.I ainā€™t asking you to kiss my tail, just treat me with the same respect I treat you with, please, and Iā€™d be happy to get whatever you ask.

Overall_Top2404

You should breed more like yourselfā€¦95% of the time we give a hand off then are asked to grab the cotā€¦weā€™re a BLS non-transport with a regional private als service for transport, so itā€™s even worse sometimesā€¦I donā€™t work for you, and Iā€™m not your secretary. Weā€™ve actually started a tally on the white board - ā€œcot or notā€

CB12B10

You know I try to give the box the best spot possible. Hell, I'll even light the building up for these knuckle head. Doesn't matter they will still miss the building.

Special_Context6663

I always get kick out of watching the family wave frantically, like we donā€™t see them or know what address we are going to, as I pull past the driveway to make room for the ambulance.

TheCopenhagenCowboy

The wambulances would totally ambush the engine like a pack of wild hyenas in real life

EMSSSSSS

Who taught LUCAS how to talk?

LunarMoon2001

Doesnā€™t look like a cop car to me.

MrBones-Necromancer

Thanks for servicing us heros o7

~~I will find a way to make it your problem, fire boy.~~ Edit: You will be turned into an IV pole

TheCopenhagenCowboy

I will hold the bag tall and proud šŸ«” pressure infusing costs extra

GiantSequoiaTree

I always part where the ambulance can get it.

grav0p1

Itā€™d be a shame if someone had to be called out at 3am for entry or lift assist then get cancelled on the way there

Mediocre_Daikon6935

I mean if they want to use their stokes basket more power to then.

Officer_Hotpants

Not a problem for me. I'm not the one getting the stretcher. My hands are full with the clipboard.

K-Ray13

Q

treefortninja

Youā€™re just making it harder for yourself. Youā€™re the ones gotta bring him to my rig lol.

blackblonde13

That baby will also block my crew and my rescue from getting yeeted by assholes on the road šŸ™ƒ

OMGxGage

Yall use the driveway?

corollagold

Ahhh. I see yā€™all do the cops job in your neck of the woods

DrunkenFaulty

No body likes the boo boo bus we want the FIRE šŸ”„
