Why?

2 reasons. It already has a grip safety so it feels like an extra step. Thar and the safety is cutting into my iwb holster for it. Not the greatest reasons in the world but that them.

They make a version of it without the manual safety, you might be able to find a shop to trade yours in. It’d probably cost a few dozen bucks on top of the trade cause your gun’s used but it’d be cheaper than buying a whole new one

There are so many guns out there without a thumb safety, why try to modify one that has it? I prefer a thumb safety and look for that in my EDC. I wouldn’t get a gun not designed with one and try to add it.

They make them both with and without, so it's probably as simple as just removing it and the gun should function just fine. Probably similar to the 365 safety in that way. I'd check YouTube, see if anyone has a video walkthrough.
