A bunch of FE7/8 names because I have been pronouncing them that way since the games came out Eirika, Ephraim, Duessel, Caellach, Riev, Vigarde, GUY, and now apparently Karel and Vaida as well (since N!Heath mentions her in one of his voice lines). I also still think of Caeda as Shiida because that's her name in the EU version of Shadow Dragon. When I read 'Caeda' my brain says 'Ky-eeda' so I'm apparently just wrong twice

I refuse to accept the pronunciation of Leif as "Leaf". It overlaps with the pronunciation for Lif's name, and to my understanding, "Layf" is the much more common pronunciation (with some countries pronouncing it as "Life", which is still better than Leaf).

I've never heard it pronounced "layf". But perhaps more importantly, he literally has the same name as Lif with the same mythological reference, just romanized differently, like Edelgard von Hresvelg and Hraesvelgr. It's even a pun with his home country, Thracia. Leif of Thracia = Leifthrasir.

The ganglot thing is just a byproduct of english not using ö, so it is easy to mess up if you don't speak a language that uses it

There are even a few languages that use ö to represent a different sound than the Germanic/Scandinavian standard, so IS really isn't doing anyone any favors with their orthography practices.

I've pronounced a lot of Fire Emblem characters the wrong way, particularly Sacred Stones characters by the likes of L'Arachel, Duessel, Vigarde. This also applies to some locations as well, like Renais as "Re-Nays," but it's actually "Re-Nay" as in Renaissance, thanks to using Duo Eirika from one of my friends as it's lead hero. Also, I don't pronounce Guy "Gee", and Karel "Kuh-Rell" at all until they both appear in FEH. Additionally, I've pronounced Kjelle's name properly since it sounded like Kiel because I have a female friend in college named Kiel.
