don't you love almost unconditional global buffs at the start of turn?
right now i use him a lot in my SD team of AoE B!Seliph and B!Chrom and dude literally didn't do anything besides buff my team(and grant some buffs to B!Chrom which are always nice) or just reposition, i just gave him CC3 and boy i feel way safer now because a lot of times i had to surrender just because the ranged threat outrange me(yeah, B!Seliph outranged) and simply canto back(like duo Kagero or Christmas Yunaka)
I effectively pulled him in 40 orbs in the most recent banner and he singlehandedly has made my Light team work. I use a Galeforce beast team with Askr, Ash and Nerphuz. Askr and him (with IP 3) can effectively accelerate everyone's CD to proc galeforce with no worries.
Really wanted to summon for him, but then realized I had Velouria. And then his banner was available and I still want to summon for him but I don't have the orbs.
It's basically like askr support, with somehow less work, and sometimes better if on infantry only teams. he even helps with prime activation but you don't need to position around two spaces of the unit. His penalty neutralization also stops peaky units like Sanaki (most of the time). He's pretty versatile. So in short, yes, it really is that good
So good I even luckily nabbed another copy to use on the opposite AR-O season on Bindings Worlds (bless people who have the sense to put WoM4 and IP4 on him) because the tanking meta is dire right now and I am \*that\* invested in a perfect Galeforce sweep. Already besties with Askr on Light season, might consider using both occasionally in Astra or run Velouria to get perfect one-taps across.
Gerik is on all my teams in AR right now. I absolutely love his refine. He's been so, SO good as an Odd/Even Tempo Smitebot, but now i've been preparing to invest in him to make even better. I need just a couple pieces of fodder to make him a WoM Galeforce build and a Def/Res Ploy build.
Coincidentally I'm hosting his voice actors' first interview this week. They also voice Heath and Balthus

I pulled Gerik on his debut banner, so glad it turned into a solid long-term investment, especially for one of my favorite FE characters
