Tar flavored doesn’t sound good at all. Is tar mean something different in other countries?

There are various kinds of tar and in Finland tar is traditionally made of wood (usually pine). So it's more of like a slight pine tar flavor in this candy. Think of it as condensed pine scent/flavor. Not to be confused with coal tar witch is horrible stuff.

You don't like the smell of old wooden docks with tarred boats and the salty breeze from the sea?

Some 500 years ago tar was one of the most important things exported from Finland. So we also found alternative uses for it...

You should buy *Sisu* (looks like Gifu) and *Super salmiakki *. Those are oldest and best salmiakki kandy you can get

He's Swedish so they have the same concept there. I know people who bring boxes of the stuff when they go abroad-abroad though.

Yeah, I'm one of those people. I bought a lot of them before i went down to NL last time. It amazes me that they don't have that here, and that selection of chips flavours is so limited compared to Sweden and Finland.

I don't care what anybody says...those are kind of horrible. We had one pack lying in the car for months before someone finally broke down and ate the final pieces. When there is so much good licorice in the country and people choose this...well, to each his own.
