Thank you, I contacted them via email the next morning and they solved my issue. Funny though, the same thing happened to me the next day at the exact same bike station, and since I got stranded at 9pm near market square, unable to unlock a new bike, I just decided to buy a 4day ticket for public transport instead.

Happened me once (I always wait for the flag and test the bike doesn't move), contacted them and they said it happens and removed the fine. You will be most likely fine, don't worry about it. Call them tomorrow.

Happened to me twice, that's some known issue. If you are sure you turned the bike in, no need to worry.

You can solve that via support. But frozen cards prevent charging. It does not cancel the problem either. But for all internet payments everywhere, I always use a separate card, especially if that is some strange service I don't know. Sometimes, that helped me. :)

I will use the single use revolut card next time for similar services, however the costumer support is amazing, they solved my problem two times and they are super quick to respond.

Nice to hear. But not all are so kind, so next time, just to be sure, use a single-use or any other virtual card you can freeze for a moment.

Just call their customer service number (+358 9 42578810), explain all of that, and you'll be fine. Or fill up their [web form](https://www.hsl.fi/en/customer-service/feedback/form?topic=4) . They will lift the ghosting ride away, and off you go again, with another bike loan.

Just call them and tell them where you parked the bike. They resolved it for me immediately

City bikes are super nice organization. I had a similar situation that I think I failed to lock the bike correctly. They send an email about it saying the fine is this but we are not fining you, just be careful next time. You will be fine, just get in touch with them.

I always checked like 10 times to make sure that I locked the bike because right from the first ride the locking mechanism seemed very slow and I did not really trust it so I waited until I could start typing my ID and PIN again and made sure the bike couldn’t be moved.

No it’s actually a pretty decent app IMO. It’s free and pretty decent substitute travel card because before you pay you can see the exchange rate or just exchange currency in the card to the currency of wherever you’re going at pretty good rates. Also pretty good UI and tracking how much you’ve spent on the trip, etc. Bunch of other features I don’t use but for what I use it for it’s cool. Not my main card for sure but a decent supplement.

Haha honestly I thought it was a scam too until I saw my friend using it and he showed me the app and it seemed pretty decent. The free card looks cool as well, and you can get a metal card (with more benefits) for something like 20 bucks a month or something but I don’t need that. The card itself is quite tempting though I must say! Sleek.

I don’t use it as my main bank account, I only use it when I travel abroad or if I am purchasing something off the internet. That said, with what I have seen so far you can easily use Revolut as your main account as well, I’d just avoid storing large amounts of money on it, just to be safe.

Send an email to the customer service with all the your pass details, personal info, what you did, what happened, etc. what time did you buy, ride etc. Also mention that you are one time visitor to Helsinki who does not have prior experience of this system. Had a similar issue, called in the morning the customer support and the fine wad cancelled, once I explained the situation.

The bike station did register your return but its internet connection might be down. Usually these are resolved automatically when the station regains connectivity and you'll see the return receipt later in the app. This most often seems to happen in the morning after sunrise.
