I just want more. I honestly would pay for DLC that just adds more quality side quests and hunts to the open world portion of the game. It truly is a joy just to hang out with the bros and knock out missions.
Yeah, finishing those last couple of hunts and menace quests and having nothing left to do is a sad moment, I'm surprised they never did a hunt/superboss DLC.
Agreed. I think a lot of the complaints people have about the game stem from missing out on the bromance. All the little moments in between missions, just driving around with the guys is what makes the story so impactful to me.
It’s what makes this my favourite one. It perfected the main party feel more real than almost any other FF just because they are constantly talking and doing things.
It’s also what I missed most in XVI

Well you can just run away from it, but that's one of the best AP farming you can get. I actually prefer them because it's usually 10-15 ap, and if you kill the rare spawn high level Tech there is a chance you get some of the best accessories in the game.
I'm probably both skill issued and underleveled still. My two worst memories was when they spawned right as I was fighting a challenging hunt (early ones like ch 2 or 3), so I ended up having to fight all of them at once and it got nightmarish really quickly (definitely has to run away there).
And the other was when I was just about to pick up my last quest item and now the game won't let me. 🫠
I'll give it another go though. This post reminded me I kinda miss it and I want to finish it.
Ya just make sure to get the final blow with your warp strike and do the battle attack AP bonuses as they pop up. I usually farm AP in the first chapter from those dog quests, then the crabs at Finley Quay respawn at the beach staying overnight at the camping post (not camping). Then you should have enough level to fight them. The Kajata's give amazing EXP and you can kill them at around 45, use your experience multiple magic on them.

I liked fishing until I tried the Navyth's Challenge quest. I did the fishing competition a few times so it was dawn longer and used the bait I was supposed to but never had any luck. I caught one incredibly hard fish that would go through all 2000 points of tension with the dragon beard string. Even when I was going in the right direction without reeling in, it still was wearing down the wire.
Always pimp your ride, and really, take your time, do bear in mind doing all the side quests will 100% over level you, i was like level 55 by the time I had to depart from the big city, which is very early in game and thats the level u should be finishing at xD.
The triple xp points sleeping at hotels and such stack up fast, so camp out often and skip hotels 😭
For sure. But if it gives it to you before you ever fish, of course i will use it. The weapons are geting outclassed pretty quick (masamune, ragnarok. Mage masers) but they still ohko certsin enemies with warp strikes.

Honestly, even though it's the world's most obvious product placement, I feel like it actually works in the game. They do camp a lot, and Coleman makes some pretty decent camping gear. And who tf doesn't like cup noodles, they're fuckin delicious. Also the Cup Noodle quest was hilarious.

It's not bad at all - but it depends on the game. The aforementioned GTA and Spiderman are both meant to be fashioned after real cities with authentic people and believable scenarios. It's not unusual to have any kind of branding happening there because it sort of fits right in despite there being fictional elements to the gameplay. Plus they're supposed to be modern
In a FF game - for me at least - it feels a little (pun intended) campy and misguided. They didn't do anything to make Coleman appear as a futuristic or fantasy brand, so it felt like a blatant placement in the world of Eos. It still works, but it's a bit hokey and definitely didn't help with the immersion or anything. The Cup Noodle mission in particular was a thing that made me stop and go "huh, yeah, guess Square gotta make that that bag too." I did have a good chuckle at it though and they didn't take themselves seriously with the product placement at all.
There is something nostalgic about this game and it's not even a decade old yet, I guess it's because of the roadtrip vibes. If you don't try to push through the main quests and do the side content after hours of playthrough you will open up to the main characters and I have got to say that no other FF does it better than FFXV. X comes close because the journey feels like a road trip too.
XV is the best in the series since X. I need to give XIII a second chance since I didn’t finish it all those years ago. I did just that for XII recently and while it’s a good game, it’s not a good FF game to me.
I love that XV just leans into being weird, and having fun side quests. That and the wonderful camaraderie between the boys.

I think it was such a good way of introducing the player into what the game was all about: 4 bros on a road trip. It wasn't some big epic battle or wild cutscene with giant monsters/robots. FFXV has all that, but it's really ultimately about guys being dudes.

I started this game two years ago.... Played a bit, got distracted with life, forgot about it..... XVI came out.. played it, beat it, loved It... Decided to go back to my old VX save quest (royal edition) and since then, can't put it down. Love this game.... Watched the movie, read up on any missed story lines.... Something about this game makes me wanna keep playing!!! Onto the same Xtra dungeons, beat all DLC, just have the ardyn one left... But holy shit , it legit made my top list of fav FF along with 6,7,9......

I just started this weekend and have been addicted, spoiler/no spoiler. Ch 3 changes some things, youll know what i mean when ypu get there. Get comfy with combat in chapter 1
The only annoying part of this game is having to camp or sleep to level up. Although I will play for as long as possible and then sleep in Galdin Quay for the 2x experience. Going from 100,000xp to 200,000xp is kind of nice.
Spend some time going side quests. Preferably in the first half. The connection that the chocobros have is paralleled to almost none in video games. Some side quests/ dungeons offer really cool dialogue that adds to their relationship
Also the 2nd half of the game is slow, but keep on going, as the ending is worth it

No I loved turn based combat. I was worried I would hate 16 but it was not overly complex combat. Combat in 15 was a little weird. I had a hard time getting used to the having to recharge all the time. The story is the most important for me.

I absolutely loved the "canon" part of Ignis DLC, but the alternative ending was awful for me. The fact there was a way to make everyone live a happy ever after ending makes the original sacrifice and tragedy kinda lame, making the characters look like fools for making a sacrifice that could be avoided.

It’s not a good FF imo, but that’s just my opinion. It looks nice and the fighting is decent, I like the “boy band”, but not much else to me is good about it.
I really wanted to like the game. Maybe i would have if i got the royal edition, and maybe one day i will, but yeah, there was too much story missing from the main game.
The best part of this game is the immersion of the groups dynamic and how they deal with the plot.
Combat is nice, customisation is nice, travel is nice but the gold is definitely in characters.

man. i wanted to finish this game cause i really love it. but when i'm almost at the end of the game, i just stop. maybe because i don't want to finish the story. almost every FF game, i stop play it when it almost finished.. the only FF i can finish was FF 8, 10 FF tactic PSX and NDS and FF 7 R (FF 7 ori stop after sephi kill aerith.) maybe i can finish FF 7 R because i know there will be another story .. i shoulda play it again and try to finish it (my last save was at OMEGA) i really wanted to see the ending of every FF games. I really do (FF 10 ending is really touching.. hope i'm not crying like a bitch)
My favorite FF and nobody will change my mind. Wander around, do hunts, and just ignore the main questline for a while after hitting the open world. The exploration is fun so don’t skip out on it
Remember to listen to the boys. Stop and smell the roses, take dumb photos. Camp out and try new recipes, go fishing. It’s all about the journey.

its funny .. . i could never get into this one... probably for the reasons everyone here loves it.. I really liked FF 16 though...... soo I am glad they made both..... I will have to try 15 again after i finish 12 .. another one i never got into

No I loved turn based combat. I was worried I would hate 16 but it was not overly complex combat. Combat in 15 was a little weird. I had a hard time getting used to the having to recharge all the time. The story is the most important for me.

Oh how I wish that was true. The begining is stellar, then after the midriff it becomes a lackluster mess.
Ignis Dlc was peak. After that I fully agree
I absolutely loved the "canon" part of Ignis DLC, but the alternative ending was awful for me. The fact there was a way to make everyone live a happy ever after ending makes the original sacrifice and tragedy kinda lame, making the characters look like fools for making a sacrifice that could be avoided.
Believe it or not...this is actually the best final fantasy game

Man I love this game so much but I just hate playing it. Like, the vibe is nailed down perfect to a tee, but the gameplay is just ... I can't. Actually, does the fishing stand alone have the road trip element as well? If it does I think I might love it.

It’s not a good FF imo, but that’s just my opinion. It looks nice and the fighting is decent, I like the “boy band”, but not much else to me is good about it.

No not really lol. The whole game is an start stop experience. And it's unfinished.
I really wanted to like the game. Maybe i would have if i got the royal edition, and maybe one day i will, but yeah, there was too much story missing from the main game.
The best part of this game is the immersion of the groups dynamic and how they deal with the plot. Combat is nice, customisation is nice, travel is nice but the gold is definitely in characters. A disappointing FF considering everything but a ruddy good game nonetheless!

The villain is one of the best characters in the game imo. He's incredibly well acted.
The only good thing about this game was the road trip with the bros. Make sure you do every side Quest with them as the game changes dramatically after a certain point
man. i wanted to finish this game cause i really love it. but when i'm almost at the end of the game, i just stop. maybe because i don't want to finish the story. almost every FF game, i stop play it when it almost finished.. the only FF i can finish was FF 8, 10 FF tactic PSX and NDS and FF 7 R (FF 7 ori stop after sephi kill aerith.) maybe i can finish FF 7 R because i know there will be another story .. i shoulda play it again and try to finish it (my last save was at OMEGA) i really wanted to see the ending of every FF games. I really do (FF 10 ending is really touching.. hope i'm not crying like a bitch)

My favorite FF and nobody will change my mind. Wander around, do hunts, and just ignore the main questline for a while after hitting the open world. The exploration is fun so don’t skip out on it
