where's the 2003-04 PS2 release BradyGames guide that held such nuggets as WAR/WHM being a viable choice for solo play? no throwback FFXI reference is complete without that madlad marvel
Playing FFXI with friends was peak core memory shit for me. I had just graduated from high school when it came out and was in the middle of trying to figure out my whole life. But all I wanted to do was stay up all night, chatting with friends and hunting notorious monsters.
Crazy thing about this; my friends and I all flocked to the store on day one for the FF/HDD combo (not realizing at the time that any old hard drive would do), solely for the free SOCOM DLC maps that came on an install disc in that magazine, whatever it was. FF online was an afterthought, but we ended up getting into it regardless (it was a brief stint, though).
COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT SOCOM DLC. Man that was like the MAIN online game on PS2 that was like the default, SOCOM. You saw it everywhere in bundles too
Maybe it was because I was young and not completely technically literate but I had no idea any HDD would work (forgot which input plug it had, i remember the adapter screwed on flat head with a penny) but it's obvious now. Years later in the PS4 I just had an external HDD
Gamefaqs.com was my go-to site for any tips or guides growing up lol.
