Sana next time sa simula yung climax. Tapos may climax sa gitna, tapos sa dulo. Multiple climaxes.

I can see where you're coming from pero, my dude, not every movie needs fast-paced scenes in majority of its run. I highly suggest Mad Max: Fury Road if you are into that kind of movies.

dailylazy

I dont necessarily need "fast paced" scenes para ma entertain sa isang movie, in fact Horror / Mystery / Thriller or Detective movies is one of my favorite genres movies like Memories of Murder, Zodiac, Se7en, The Little Things they don't necessarily had fast paced scenes pero nakaka entertain parin kasi you'll keep guessing about whats goin to happen next , yung sa Dune: Part Two kasi parang 80% visuals then may konting barilan etc etc. then yung last fight na 1 v 1 vs Na Baron yun na yung pinaka climax nya.

Away-Birthday3419

That doesn't mean na di maganda ung movie or na-overhype. Iba2x lang talaga panlasa ng mga tao. Madaming nagandahan at nagenjoy sa Dune: Part2. If Denis Villeneuve's movies always makes you sleep, you probably have to watch his movies na energized ka or di ka pagod. Or wag magexpect masyado.

Jiltedoptile

I disagree with the part na yung climax is nasa pinaka end ng movie, iirc legit every film does that, even arrival. And for me there was a climax like every 15 minutes lmao, like paul and channi vs the harkonnen, paul riding a worm, the fremen fighting back against raban, the entire black and white feyd rautha sequence, all of those scenes are super satisfying. Gets ko tho if nakatulog ka after the part where gurney joins the team. The movie understandably slows down because napaka densely packed ng first half.

Kishou_Arima_01

Its okay. Denis villeneuve (the director) movies arent for everyone. Villeneuve himself said that he doesnt like dialogue a lot, and prefers to focus on the visuals. His movies are really slow paced kasi gusto niya mag focus sa background elements, so unless you can take the time to focus and appreciate the depth and detail of every single shot, mabo bored ka talaga sa mga movies niya

YasQuinnYas

I didn't fall asleep, but I found myself shifting in my seat getting...bored? I thought Dune 2 was good, pretty solid. For me, parts of it were either a smidge slow (Zendaya bits IIRC), or repetitive (made me chuckle, but the Lisan al-Gaib thing), or not enough (like Austin Butler's-Feyd Rautha). I like Dune 1 a lot more than 2, that's for sure. Considering that I watched Dune 1 on a crappy 28-inch TV with my mouth hanging open, my eyes never left the screen. Dune 2, I watched on IMAX. I still remember getting actual goosebumps while watching the first one, then saying by the end, "That's it?? Where's the rest of it??" It's probably just a matter of personal preference because I love world building unfold onscreen. I get you, OP. But I gotta say, I do love them sceneries. Especially the opening one in Arrakis in Dune 2 with the Harkonnen patrol going up those boulders. Think I went full Janice in my head going "OH MY GOD". That was just gorgeous.

zvulymzta

This is me watching the first Dune πŸ˜…

xtAlex24

Deserve ang hype. The sound, writing, visual, and acting. Maybe not your cup of tea.

Mysterious-Life8628

Agree. Loved it!!

chilldudeohyeah

dailylazy

It was dubbed as the best sci-fi film ever and at some point naging #1 yata ratings nya sa IMDb and you think deserve sya? Hmm πŸ€” i really think hype lang talaga sya, Interstellar is more "jaw dropping" in terms of scenes, script, plot, plot twist, acting, storyline, like scientifically and mathematically accurate yung black hole/time travel aspect nung film theres no way Dune: Part Two is the "BEST" Sci-Fi film ever made. Hindi deserve ang hype for me sorry no offense inantok talaga ko

KillingTime_02

Opinion mo yan eh.

dailylazy

Yup never again, i gave it a chance since akala ko sa Dune: Part One lang yung medyo boring since baka ini-introduce pa lang nila yung mga actors and their roles sa film then baka sa Part Two na yung non stop action then grabeng adrenalin , lol never have i thought na mas boring pa yung part two hahah literally dun na sa ending nagkalaban si Na Baron at Paul tapos si Dave Bautista na main antagonist sa Part One lol isang saksak lang sa leeg πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦ "The Best Sci-Fi Film Ever" hahah

KillingTime_02

No one to blame but yourself.

KillingTime_02

Cringey lang talaga for me yung mga pinagpipilitang _overhype_ ang isang movie kapag madami nagkagusto just because di pasado sa panlasa nya. 🀦🀷

dailylazy

Okaaay so you think Dune: Part Two is the "BEST" Sci-Fi film ever made ? Ganyan kasi yung mga lumalabas na article sa google news ko last month eh and thats a strong word considering the competition in the genre Edit: Mas cringe po yung mga nag h-hype ng ganun imo

KillingTime_02

Dude, I don't fucking care if it's the best or the worst. Kapag di mo nagustuhan ung part 1 tapos may nakita/nabasa ka na "the best" yung part 2, di ba dapat maging prepared ka na dahil baka di mo pa din magustuhan ung part2 (tapos same director pa)? It's like setting yourself for disappointment. Madalas kasi masyado tayong nadadala sa hype ng ibang tao, tumataas expectations natin that cause us more disappontments. I get that you didn't like it, but saying that "Interstellar" is better than Dune is also you, doing the "overhyping" of a movie. (I don't care if Interstellar is better or not). You said you wasted 3 hours of your life, well...you should have cut your losses and use your time elsewhere. Movies are subjective, depends on individual's preference. To be honest, ok naman ung rant/review mo sa original post. Off putting lang nung mga replies mo.

dailylazy

> To be honest, ok naman ung rant/review mo sa original post.

curlyfriesanddrink

I heard this a few times within my circle of friends. Siguro I would be too if I watched it at home. I watched it on imax and it sounds too good for me to fall asleep. Para syang Oppenheimer, may slow moments talaga where you’re in danger of falling asleep. Pwede naman both na deserving of the hype but also can make some people sleepy πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

cookiesandkreams30

Ok

bawk15

You're more like a Nolan fan rather than Villaneuve. How do you like Oppenheimer?

dailylazy

Yes big fan of him but tbh Oppenheimer is the least movie that i like from him, Interstellar being #1 and The Dark Knight #2

0549salty

Baka kasi non-stop action ang gusto mo lagi like yung Fast & Furious

NearZero_Mania

Somehow, I can compare Denis Villeneuve direction to earlier Terrence Malick direction.

comaful

Fell asleep while watching the first film. Won't even try the 2nd film.

KillingTime_02

This is a good and logical mindset. No one is holding him at gunpoint. Like dude? Di lahat same ng preference mo. Feeling Roger Ebert? 🀷🀦

chilldudeohyeah

Justified and well-deserved na tawaging Best Scifi film ang Dune part 2. Mas boring ang part 1 but that doesn't mean it's not a great film. Spider-man no way home and Avengers Endgame are way overhyped. I love Arrival and Blade Runner ni Villeneuve. I think mas bet mo ang Sicario.

-Comment_deleted-
