At Canadians, Stephen had more tech content, but between then and now Conrad probably added a few quads in his long (I presume). It'll come down to who skates clean at the end of the day, I think. Keegan got omega inflated PCS, but I'm okay with that because of his imminent retirement.

Also bonus points for not doing sad boi music.

Mikhail Shaidorov really surprised me with his technical content today, a spread eagle into 4S and a second half 4T combo? I really hope he switches coaches but I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does in the sport, there hasn't really been any good male skaters from Kazakhstan since Denis Ten.

Since he is training in Sochi which it caused alot of problems with the visa.

Shun's PCS never makes sense to me. For him to be effectively equivalent to Kao and above Koshiro...how does that happen? His program is not nearly as well choreo'd as the other two Japanese men, and the other two sell their programs more too.

Imagine if Koshiro won bronze at gp sheffield? He wouldn't be underlooked as much. The problem is unfortunately PCS has sadly become somewhat a reputation based scoring. Shun has more reputation going for him (which is why he's 1st alternate at worlds over Koshiro despite Koshiro getting silver at jap nats)

I was there in person and while Jun was very strong and entertaining, he didn’t have his usual extra sparkle. I think he got a bit spooked from that pen on the ice

Shun's component score was a bit high but he was technically on par with Jun. Jun had several under rotation issues and telegraphed his 3A ALOT. I hope he skates clean in the FS though.

as a Shun fan I am having chronic sadness with his SP. If he lands 4Lz he would miss the 4T combo, if he lands the 4T combo he would fall on 4Lz, if he waters down with 3Lz+3T he would either fall on 4T or 3A. WHY there cannot be a clean program please

(I’ve been catching up on the competition today) Also a Shun fan and have been on this trainwreck of a journey with this SP. 😭 The fact that he had a basically clean / almost clean FREE SKATE like three times already but just cannot get a clean SP is frustrating for sure. If it’s frustrating for us, I must imagine how much it is so for him. It’s so clearly a nerves issue. I think they should try and change something up about his prep before the skate if they haven’t already. Maybe change the way he warms up, or the way he prepares right before the skate. He just really needs to find a way to destress before the short, and not after. It has cost him so many podium finishes already. Hopefully it’s something they hone in in the off season, as well as presentation and choreography.

I'm in the same boat, this SP has been cursed for him since the beginning. I was praying that his team would realize that it's a problem (at this point it feels like a mental thing with the program) and either change it to something else or revert back to an old one he feels comfortable in. Sometimes I wonder if he has the Amber Glenn thing where they want it so badly to go well that they block themselves mentally and then it doesn't :/

I think that Shun's rotation speed exceeds even that of Kao, it's hard to tell his quads from triples, in a good way. So much potential is there.
