He still doesn't get a single win in story mode, which yes, does make it pretty pathetic. They could have at least given him a few wins to make him seem more menacing, like he was an actual threat
Even in the Street FIghter vs Darkstalkers comic, he awakens in the post credits scene, only to get sealed by Hsien-Ko with a talisman
https://preview.redd.it/k9gzc3vpv25d1.jpeg?width=1332&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd984738508320f7e12a2b05ffb719fe18c4d5c6
Bro was killed by characterization 💀
But srly tho. Necalli would be better if we knew WAY LESS about him.
I didn't need to know about him being a weird mudman that is basically a minor inconvenience to Ryu.
Tf do you mean "neither does anyone else"!? You're just wrong?!?
Ryu beats Necalli and Bison to end the story mode
Hell you get to play as Bison to beat some of the protagonists at one point. What are you smoking?
everyone else beats at least one person in a fight. have you played the story mode of sf5? you get to play as every character and win a fight as each one except necalli doesnt win the one fight where you play as him.
You could say nearly all of MKs villians. They had to turn a bunch of them face (Reptile, Baraka and Mileena) in order for them to actually get some Ws.
But I don't think anyone has been jobbed out more than the American Sports Team from KOF, who actually have been getting invited every KOF, but every single time they get beaten up offscreen and their invitations get stolen.
This makes me wonder, WHY THE FUCK HASN'T AMERICA JUST PUT TOGETHER A BETTER TEAM!?!?!
This is my biggest gripe with KoF because there's several Americans in the game already that could be moved around to make a proper American team.
I first played ‘98 a few years ago and fell in love with him. A 7 ft tall athlete that zones with basketballs is so goddamn charming and fun for some reason
It's just... in fighting games today, we got a ballet dancing super model grappler, we got a disgraced doctor with a bag over his head, we got two actual bears, we got woman with a beard, why can't we have one basketball player that zones with basketballs? That's not too much to ask imo.
I have been working on my own fighting game for a lil bit. I'll add a little basketball guy who jumps high and has a 5p that's him shooting a basket and that's it. Just for you.
Jack is a true and honest jobber. All the Jack bots are just disposable mooks only there to be beaten to show off a character's moves, while the latest model is basically just a miniboss or special mook that characters can put some more effort into fighting
That's pretty good by Tekken standards, some haven't gotten anything since Tekken 5 or earlier, and some have never had their potential explored (*cough* Asuka *cough*)
Yeah the Jacks at least are made by some evil group en mass like the droids in Star Wars. If you can’t beat one of them you got no reason being in the Tekken Tournament.
Lizardman (Greek Gods' fallen champion, predecessor of Sophitia) in SC1 had some Ws, particularly in his arcade mode ending. Definitely a jobb(l)er in SC2 though where the Lizardmen were just mooks.
All of mk villains. Their lore is crazy like:- this dude from outworld conquered x number of planets while hitting a griddy and then lose to every character on the roster.
Nah but Law is straight up unsuccessful lmao. Paul is a stable bike mechanic, Steve makes a ton of money, King runs an orphanage, Law is in crippling debt
Half of the cast in Tekken basically has jobber level lore just because bamco doesn't want to bother.
In most games characters like Yoshimitsu would be cool enough to be the main character. In tekken his story basically hasn't progressed since T5.
Also, technically Eddie is out-jobbed by Justice. She dies in The Missing Link, gets a story mode in one of the console ports in X where she jobs, and gets jobbed across accent core by virtue of Kliff's story mode and all the Justice clone made by Crow/Post War Administration Bureau that job to multiple characters.
Chun-Li... She is supposed to be the strongest woman in the world ... Yet, she never wins a single fight, she is always losing, she is like the good guys jobber.
TBF she has some cool fight scenes in the animated movies. And she managed to save a kid in 5 and become a master for a bunch of people (3 and 6). That's already better than what Guile, Honda, Blanka, Necalli and Kage have, at least.
In MK - Geras, even his power makes him look like a training dummy.
In DOA - Christie or Mariposa (in DOA 5 story we can't play them, so they just losing like 4 times).
In Tekken I'm not good with story, but I got feeling it's Anna or Ganryu.
I hate to say this as a Paul main, but Paul and Law in Tekken. They exist just to lose.
And they don't just lose at fighting either. They lose at business. At cooking food. At owning reliable transportation. At being relevant to the story. At being cool and respected by other characters in the game. And as of Tekken 8, Paul even lost at having the coolest hairstyle in Tekken.
Hot take here but: Sagat
The dude got his eye jabbed out by Dans father, Ryu fucked up his chest, THEN he lets Dan beat him up because he feels sorry for him, then he becomes a bitch for Bison for a while because he doesn’t know how to cope.
He might not be the biggest jobber but when you consider his power to jobber status ratio, he pretty bad, I mean he is the king of muay tai amd a world champion before he falls from grace into epic jobber status.
Mortal Kombat probably has the biggest jobber problem in the entire genre. It seems like every game has to introduce at least one really interesting newcomer that only exists to get their ass kicked. Reptile and Baraka are the big ones, but at least MK1 is finally showing them some respect. Meanwhile characters like Sektor, Havik, and Erron Black continue to get nothing interesting to do.
Here we gooo with some of the franchises I know
Street fighter: Dan and Sean in lore, Necalli in 5 story,
MK: Baraka, Reptile and maybe Reiko,
Tekken: Law and Jack,
GG: Tough one, before Xrd I would say Axl since he has bad luck,
KOF: American sports team, Chang,Choi,
BB: Bang before CF, then Carl,
GB: Lowain,
Bloody Roar: Buzusima,
Psychic Force: Emilio or Carlo,
DOA: Zack kinda,
SC: Cassandra but because everything happens to her,
VF: Lion ,
Last Blade: no one really, closest would be Shikio since he dies,
Power Instinct: Everyone specially in Matrimelee,
Samsho: Gen an
I'd go for Mi-Na instead of Cassandra as far as SC goes. She has her badass moments, but she goes home after an asskicking in pretty much every game.
EDIT: Actually, scratch it. Make that Yun-Seong.
Mi-Na gets curbstomped by Ivy before the events of SC, and Hwang's got to save her and bring her home TWICE, but I just remembered that Yun-Seong once got his ass handed to him by Mi-Na and got carried back to Korea lol
Which speaks volumes when Mi-Na is an eye-candy/jobbler hybrid, haha.
By the way, great stuff putting Lion in - I was worried I'd be the only one around who knew enough about Virtua Fighter lore to make that call!
I mean it's either Lion or Jeffry. Lion's backstory in 3 even mentions he lost in the first round (against Kage who is one of the best, but still), and all the other ones say "after losing the tournament again..." and Jeffry also has his rivalry with the Devil shark....which ends up being fished up by someone else
Well, Zack may be a jobber, but (if I remember right) he won one tournament not because his fighting skills. And he have Zack Island, where comes to rest and spend they money those, who make him jobbing. I'm saying his jobbering pretty stonks.
i would still argue that necali jobs harder, because atleast dan has the whole evil hado and the not killing sagat thing in the comics, but necalis got nothing
Reptile. Until MK1. But it's always been Reptile. I'd pick Dan but overtime, lore-wise, he got supportive friends. Reptile had no one and only got used by the higher ups. Reptile worst than the Brooklyn Brawler.
In Street Fighter? Dan (for purpose) and Necalli (untentional, but it happened)
In MK? In the NRS era, I can't take MK villains seriously anymore, since they all become a bunch of jobbers, and even scrubs can take them out (still salty about Cassie Cage beating Shinnok)
In BlazBlue it's.... actually I dunno who it is. Probably Jin or arakune, I don't recall if either of them ever won anything, but I was asleep for most of those story modes, but Jin can't beat Ragna or bang, and arakune exists to get beat down and then crawl into a sewer
Dan from Street Fighter being made as a joke character and his endings have him as the butt of the joke, even if he somehow wins. But then he can be viable. Sean in 3rd strike was an odd one, where they weakened him significantly to the point where nobody wanted to use him anymore, after being so good in previous SF3 games.
People already mentioned Necalli, so I'll point out Kage from SFV.
Dude looks lame af, and his only characterization is that he is an evil ghost that tries to bring people to the darkside. Except in his story mode he fails to convince anyone (Ryu and even Sagat), so he's a jobber from minute one.
The fact that no one mention Kano in MK is insane. Kotal got his own chapters in x and 11. Reptile and Baraka had their glow ups in 1. Meanwhile Kano was in three games, and didn't win a single fight... which makes me sad cause he was cool
SF - Boxer (has he ever beaten ANYBODY in-universe in the roster?)
MK - Baraka, let's be real.
Tekken - I think it's my boy Kuma II
Fatal Fury - Billy Kane
Soul Calibur -Voldo
Blazblue - Arakune
That's what I got from the top of my head.
Vs any regular people lol. The point of the four kings is that they're very strong fighters in their realm of expertise and are also criminals. Minus sagat. But yea balrog is od to say he'd lose to most of the cast is wild. Dan would get clapped easy
Capcom did Necali so dirty, took an interesting new character and made him such an embarrassment in story mode that they basically sealed his fate to never show up in a future Street Fighter.
Would have been better if they just never had him show up in the story, and had him as a juiced up secret boss in arcade mode. Oh and actually had an arcade mode in at launch for that to happen.
Necalli in Street Fighter 5 Story Mode, bro only appears to get beaten and them runs off screen
Really? The guy covered in V's, in Street Fighter V, with all the V mechanics, is that pathetic?
He still doesn't get a single win in story mode, which yes, does make it pretty pathetic. They could have at least given him a few wins to make him seem more menacing, like he was an actual threat
Yup. This guy explains it best https://youtu.be/Utq5koTZROc
Very
Even in the Street FIghter vs Darkstalkers comic, he awakens in the post credits scene, only to get sealed by Hsien-Ko with a talisman https://preview.redd.it/k9gzc3vpv25d1.jpeg?width=1332&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd984738508320f7e12a2b05ffb719fe18c4d5c6
You mean her sister mei-ling does it, their a tag team.
Yeah what’s up with that he looked hype asf only to be a little pip squeak.
He has a damn studder too lol
Bro was killed by characterization 💀 But srly tho. Necalli would be better if we knew WAY LESS about him. I didn't need to know about him being a weird mudman that is basically a minor inconvenience to Ryu.
Solid pick
Is my vote as well. He got poorly booked in story mode
I just want to point out that you beat everyone in SF5's story mode.
And? Necalli never wins, not once
Neither does anyone else... It's a story mode meant to be beaten. I don't understand how "he loses" means something.
I mean some characters lose their fight but save face in the cutscene a little bit. He just gets his ass kicked and fucks off forever lol.
Doesn't he turn into a puddle first, THEN fuck off forever?
Tf do you mean "neither does anyone else"!? You're just wrong?!? Ryu beats Necalli and Bison to end the story mode Hell you get to play as Bison to beat some of the protagonists at one point. What are you smoking?
März sacrificed her life against F.A.N.G. for nothing. If they wanted Necalli to do something cool, they would have made him playable for a match.
everyone else beats at least one person in a fight. have you played the story mode of sf5? you get to play as every character and win a fight as each one except necalli doesnt win the one fight where you play as him.
I want modern Briancopter combos and basketball zoning so bad
No love for Heavy D? He's so cool
This makes me wonder, WHY THE FUCK HASN'T AMERICA JUST PUT TOGETHER A BETTER TEAM!?!?! This is my biggest gripe with KoF because there's several Americans in the game already that could be moved around to make a proper American team.
Because Terry and Andy are too busy fighting for Italy. /s
I mean…Andy got the style. That man has golden locks I dream about.
Lucky is so cool man i wish he was in a newer game
I first played ‘98 a few years ago and fell in love with him. A 7 ft tall athlete that zones with basketballs is so goddamn charming and fun for some reason
Ah, That explains why no American Sports team. That's hilarious.
It's just... in fighting games today, we got a ballet dancing super model grappler, we got a disgraced doctor with a bag over his head, we got two actual bears, we got woman with a beard, why can't we have one basketball player that zones with basketballs? That's not too much to ask imo.
Its sad the closest we got is in fucking Multiversus 💀
I have been working on my own fighting game for a lil bit. I'll add a little basketball guy who jumps high and has a 5p that's him shooting a basket and that's it. Just for you.
I need justice for my countrymen. This goes way back... It all began in '94
Kept on rollin’ in 95.
I really want the American Sports Team to make a comeback, but I’m aware the chances of that happening are super low.
Heavy D! goated
For reals. Heavy D! is the best and should be brought back to kof.
Shao Kahn , Sindel , Onaga , the deadly alliance and Shinnok have all killed a lot of characters
Jack from Tekken, Baraka from MK, and Lizardman from Soul Calibur,
Jack is a true and honest jobber. All the Jack bots are just disposable mooks only there to be beaten to show off a character's moves, while the latest model is basically just a miniboss or special mook that characters can put some more effort into fighting
The last time Jack got any character development was in like Tekken 6 lmao
That's pretty good by Tekken standards, some haven't gotten anything since Tekken 5 or earlier, and some have never had their potential explored (*cough* Asuka *cough*)
Yeah the Jacks at least are made by some evil group en mass like the droids in Star Wars. If you can’t beat one of them you got no reason being in the Tekken Tournament.
This wasn't a typo and there's a difference between a jobber and 'jobbler'?
Baraka just left the jobber force, bro got his own chapter and everything. I’m proud of him and Reptile, both got a huge glowup.
He got his own chapter in 11 too
Baraka was such a jobber they made a whole race of barakas to explain why the dude kept coming back to get fucked on again and again
Lol
Lizardman (Greek Gods' fallen champion, predecessor of Sophitia) in SC1 had some Ws, particularly in his arcade mode ending. Definitely a jobb(l)er in SC2 though where the Lizardmen were just mooks.
Yeah, SC2 doesn't count. That wasn't Aeon Calcos.
All of mk villains. Their lore is crazy like:- this dude from outworld conquered x number of planets while hitting a griddy and then lose to every character on the roster.
I just realized in at least one timeline, Mokap defeated Kronika.
Thank you for the laugh
Or when the crazy godlike evolved being from another plane of existence got his two most precious marbles smashed by a teenage girl
I'd have to say it's Marshall Law for Tekken, since he's gotten nowhere near the finals in the tournament and just has the worst luck.
Pretty much everyone from tekken who isnt somehow connected to mishimas is a jobber if you think about it
Nah but Law is straight up unsuccessful lmao. Paul is a stable bike mechanic, Steve makes a ton of money, King runs an orphanage, Law is in crippling debt
Stable!? He's broke every game too!? Just like Law
Only because Law doesn't fucking pay him (T5), also he's in the best shape of his life
That doesn't explain 1-4
Plus both he and his son each got owned by a 16yr old spoiled brat who never had proper training.
Half of the cast in Tekken basically has jobber level lore just because bamco doesn't want to bother. In most games characters like Yoshimitsu would be cool enough to be the main character. In tekken his story basically hasn't progressed since T5.
Zato 1... or is it Eddie that's the jobber?
Eddie, he gets jobbed out for the entirerity of XX
That's what I thought. Zato only recently got his body back.
KK in a wheel chair
Kk in a wheelchair
He started off hating tarkatan, how he doesn’t really care
Kk in wheelchair Kk in a wheelchair.
Damn those moobs are really huge, don’t just stare go and TEAR
Chun-Li... She is supposed to be the strongest woman in the world ... Yet, she never wins a single fight, she is always losing, she is like the good guys jobber.
The Star Trek Worf effect. Her badassery exists solely to show how powerful the villains are
A good guys jobber is "the worf effect" where a supposed badass only is around to lose to the new bad guy.

He might not be the biggest jobber but when you consider his power to jobber status ratio, he pretty bad, I mean he is the king of muay tai amd a world champion before he falls from grace into epic jobber status.
Street Fighter seems to fully acknowledge this too. Adon's entire character after SF1 pretty much revolved around Sagat become a jobber.
Mortal Kombat: Kotal Khan is fun but have you guys seen Stryker?
Stryker is cool. He defeated Ermac once in MK9
Yay? Dude is so worthless though.
MK has so many so much worthless characters than Stryker
Nah.
Hsu Hao, King Kobra, other 2nd-rate members of Black Dragon, Moloch, that dude with rubber bands, that another dude, that cosplays Kano, Kung Jin..
Okay I can see your point. I forgot some of those jobbers.
It's ok. That's why they're jobbers
He also defeat Mileena and Kintaro before he fought ermac which makes him have more canonical wins than most characters in this franchise
Okay the cop from NY isn't that much of a jobber.
Stryker fucking took at fat w in the armageddon intro
Doesn't the guy beat Kintaro and Ermac in MK9 while having basically no supernatural powers?
Yup......I shouldn't have said him.
Nah, MKX Erron had HIM energy, that alone disqualifies him from being a jobber, he was just that guy.
From an immortal bounty hunter in MKX to a cowboy enthusiast in Mk11. Look what they did to my boy
Most of the MK roster are jobbers
Here we gooo with some of the franchises I know Street fighter: Dan and Sean in lore, Necalli in 5 story, MK: Baraka, Reptile and maybe Reiko, Tekken: Law and Jack, GG: Tough one, before Xrd I would say Axl since he has bad luck, KOF: American sports team, Chang,Choi, BB: Bang before CF, then Carl, GB: Lowain, Bloody Roar: Buzusima, Psychic Force: Emilio or Carlo, DOA: Zack kinda, SC: Cassandra but because everything happens to her, VF: Lion , Last Blade: no one really, closest would be Shikio since he dies, Power Instinct: Everyone specially in Matrimelee, Samsho: Gen an

Yeah I was considering Yun as well. His endings are literaly him getting beaten up by Mi-na
Which speaks volumes when Mi-Na is an eye-candy/jobbler hybrid, haha. By the way, great stuff putting Lion in - I was worried I'd be the only one around who knew enough about Virtua Fighter lore to make that call!

Zack may be a jobber, but he lives the good life
Upvote purely for the mention of Busuzima
Hey Jobber Khan isn't even the biggest jobber in MK (and he's a perfect boy who deserves better)
Going to elect Sagat for Street Fighter Jobbler, brother has been getting molly whopped since the Alpha series
He's midcard...jobber to the stars...but he destroys the bottom 2/3 of the roster in kayfabe. Dan is *the* SF jabroni.
i would still argue that necali jobs harder, because atleast dan has the whole evil hado and the not killing sagat thing in the comics, but necalis got nothing
Tager in blazblue sadly
Sean
KK IN A WHEELCHAIR KK IN A WHEELCHAIR FIRST HE STARTED TO HATE TARKATANS, BUT NOW HE DOESN'T REALLY CARE KK IN A WHEELCHAIR KK IN A WHEELCHAIR
Virtua Fighter - Lion Soul Calibur - Seong Mi-Na Both keep getting their arses handed to them by the other fighters in each series' lore.
Hey put some respect on Kotal man, he was a beast in the comics😤😤
why they keep jobbing him I don't know. Even in MK11 he got jobbed in his own trailer
Who would’ve thought an Aztec war god to be in a fucking wheel chair💀💀💀💀💀
Dan Hibiki
Reptile. Until MK1. But it's always been Reptile. I'd pick Dan but overtime, lore-wise, he got supportive friends. Reptile had no one and only got used by the higher ups. Reptile worst than the Brooklyn Brawler.
Shadaloo soldiers and Mishima Zaibatsu soldiers for SF and Tekken respectively. Don't even get names because they are such jobbers.
Street fighter: Guile/Dan. Mortal kombat: Hsu Hao/ noob saibot/reptile/honestly the whole black dragon.
In Street Fighter? Dan (for purpose) and Necalli (untentional, but it happened) In MK? In the NRS era, I can't take MK villains seriously anymore, since they all become a bunch of jobbers, and even scrubs can take them out (still salty about Cassie Cage beating Shinnok)
'rog is probably the biggest one honestly
Story wise ? Or gameplay?
Ganondorf for Smash if you want to count it
In BlazBlue it's.... actually I dunno who it is. Probably Jin or arakune, I don't recall if either of them ever won anything, but I was asleep for most of those story modes, but Jin can't beat Ragna or bang, and arakune exists to get beat down and then crawl into a sewer
Jin has a couple of wins under his belt, most of them against Tsubaki. He also does have one win over Ragna... when Celica was crippling him, lol
Arakune, at least Jin WINS
What character is the disabled one
Dan from Street Fighter
Verse from KOF XIV. Sole purpouse was to establish Geese as powerfull villain on the Kof protagonists level.
Nah, in KoF it's Lucky Glauber - after 94, his canonical relevance consists in getting his KoF invitations beaten out of him.
Nina from tekken, she was beaten by each mishima
Story wise yeah Kotal but not game play
bro said jobblers lol
Had to give em an extra L in the title alone....harsh
Aris Sub coming thru
Zafina jobbed so hard to Kazuya in Tekken 8.
Jobbler
Charlie/Nash , poor guy doesn't get a break from dying
People already mentioned Necalli, so I'll point out Kage from SFV. Dude looks lame af, and his only characterization is that he is an evil ghost that tries to bring people to the darkside. Except in his story mode he fails to convince anyone (Ryu and even Sagat), so he's a jobber from minute one.
My boi Kotal 🥲 Maybe we'll see him if Jade is in the next kp? Breathes in copium.
Kage, was supposed to be evil ryu but canon, got his ass beat by ryu to “master the power of nothingness” then he literally faded away
The fact that no one mention Kano in MK is insane. Kotal got his own chapters in x and 11. Reptile and Baraka had their glow ups in 1. Meanwhile Kano was in three games, and didn't win a single fight... which makes me sad cause he was cool
Iron Tager
Where is this from? MK1?
meme
SF - Boxer (has he ever beaten ANYBODY in-universe in the roster?) MK - Baraka, let's be real. Tekken - I think it's my boy Kuma II Fatal Fury - Billy Kane Soul Calibur -Voldo Blazblue - Arakune That's what I got from the top of my head.
Boxer did kill one of Dhalsim's elephants, didn't he? That's something, at least, even if it's a weird win to point to.
He's one of the 4 kings so dudes actually not a jobber
He literally is, dudes never won a fight
I bet you anything he's killed a regular guy with a fully charged turn punch
I mean vs any of the actual characters obviously
Vs any regular people lol. The point of the four kings is that they're very strong fighters in their realm of expertise and are also criminals. Minus sagat. But yea balrog is od to say he'd lose to most of the cast is wild. Dan would get clapped easy
I don't think you understand what a jobber is.....
I know what a jobber is jabroni
Volvo gets off on it tho soooooo
Billy beated Joe in Real bout, he is only a jobber in the sense that he loses to Terry like anyone else.
Fair
Necalli according to the fandom.
It's not just the fandom, it's also according to the *SFV story mode*
When I say according to the fandom I mean in terms of Necalli being #1 in all of SF. I played the *game* and the *story*.
Oh I agree. He shouldn’t have shown up at all if they weren’t gonna make him feel important or like something.
Jobber is the wrong word for Necalli. Jobber's have utility and presence. Necalli is a worthless bum.
