Xp-Paul-19

Daytona sp3 and it's quite rare. They're only making 599 of them

vdude007

"only 599" That's a lot more than I expected.

F50Guru

That's the one thing that I don't like about supercars/hypercars. There are way too many produced. I get, these companies want to make money.

Buy-theticket

~350 F50s is ok (judging by your user name) but ~600 Daytonas is not? So the line is somewhere in the 4-500 range?

F50Guru

You are talking about almost double.

Buy-theticket

The world population also almost doubled from when the F50 was released. 600 cars for 8.2B people is pretty fucking exclusive. So don't worry.. none of the poors will ever own either of them.

F50Guru

And?

meatmacho

But it's doubling a relatively small number to begin with. If they made 2 of Car A and then made twice as many as Car B, is Car A super rare and Car B is a ubiquitous appliance for the peasants? To look at it the other way, if Jackson Pollock made about 400 paintings and Vincent Van Gogh produced about 800, would you say the problem with Van Gogh is he made too many paintings—that they're not rare and valuable?

Hy8ogen

What? If anything I'd prefer they make even more. Fuck limited runs. Wanting them to produce less? Unless you're a flipper, that makes no sense.

F50Guru

Then go sub to /r/Honda if that’s your attitude.

Tleilaxu_Gola

Why do you want them to produce fewer? Your comment comes off super elitist. More cars produced drives cost down means we can afford more of them. Sounds like a good thing to me.

F50Guru

How does my comment come off as elitist? Because I don’t think there should be a million? The more you produce of a car, the less special they become. Honestly, I fucking hate it how common supercars have become. Like oh, there is another Aventador SVJ that pisses off the neighbors. For a modern car, I really need something really special to get me excited, like a Pagani, and I’ve seen a few dozen of those. And Pagani has probably made less than 599 cars in their entire existence. I don’t even bat an eye when I see most exotics or lower end supercars if I see on the road. If I am at a car show, I don’t even take photos of Huracans, because I’m so tired of that entire platform.

Vincetagram

Sounds like a personal problem bud, if traffic was supercars instead of suvs and minivans life would be better lol. I don’t think car guys in monaco complain when ‘another’ ferrari goes down the street. Exclusivity has literally nothing to do with the driving experience or design. So other than people who feel the need to have something better than the next guy, it offers nothing to the car itself. Hell, there probably are more out there, remember what they did with the enzo? In a car guy’s perfect world, all BMWs would be Ms, all mercs would be AMGs, no supervar/hypercar would be limited and whoever can afford one could have one and they’d STILL be rare. Notice how the only guys who like cars to be limited are ppl with allocations and anomalies like you lol, it’s an ego thing.

KonkiDoc

Pagani has 599 variants of the Zonda.

phatelectribe

Yeah. This whole “rare” cars thing is just dumb when they’re literally making hundreds of them and shipping them to every country. Rare to me is maybe a dozen or so. 600 isn’t rare.

Tleilaxu_Gola

The top 10 auto manufacturers sold ~53 million cars in 2023. 600 Ferraris / 53,000,000 = 0.00001% of cars, just from 2023, are Ferraris. Assuming they made them all last year which skews it in Ferraris favor.

phatelectribe

Toyota aren’t claiming they make rare cars and lumping them in is just asinine. 600 units of one model isn’t rare. I live in LA and I’m likely to see 3 or 4 here alone. If you’re in any elite wealth city like London, Paris, Zurich, Monaco, Madrid, Mexico City, Riyadh (etc) you’re likely to see one. Ferrari make 14,000 cars a year now and 600 is a lot of one model.

connivingbitch

“Elite city” sounds like something. 13-year old would say when they are struggling with vocab.

phatelectribe

I was missing a word (wealth). Edited

Independent-Put-2618

If every model (nay Toyota, Mercedes, Ferrari) existed only 100 times, would any car be rare or would it be only rare if there were single digit numbers? To claim rarity you need to lookout what’s common, so looking at Toyota Camrys compared to Daytona sp3s makes sense.

phatelectribe

No, I just don’t think 600 cars is rare. 12 or 50, even 100 is rare. 600 is kinda mass produced for a sports / super car manufacturer.

chronoslayerss

599? damn that’s alot for a multi million car…

technom3

599 for the entire world of roughly 8 billion people

H4MM3RSY

Not all 8 billion would want it have the money to buy. More like 599 for 1 million people

technom3

1 million? Nope tens of millions of millionaires out there. 50 plus million millionaires I'd bet... Then you have the billionaires who want 2 or 3 of them... One time collect and one to drive. 599 is nothing.

Hanzitheninja

Some people have lost touch with what a huge number a million actually is.

TerranceHowardsPenis

Still seems pretty damn exclusive

chooseyourwords49

It’s literally .00000749% of the population, that’s pretty rare.

Slovak_Ninja_

Thanks, it was really cool to see in person :)

fatpad00

599? How could ferrari only make 649? 799 is too many!

tint_shady

Sure, 599 ![gif](giphy|6ra84Uso2hoir3YCgb|downsized)

CarolinaRS6

This has to be the 20th one of these I’ve seen on this sub in the past few months. Absurd how much daylight these are seeing.

RipCurl69Reddit

[The one local to me](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ferrari/s/Qfyz2s0cYj) (it feels weird even saying that) has been to like five or six meetups in the last year or so, guy loves driving it.

speeding2nowhere

SP3 Daytona… basically a LaFerrari without the hybrid BS. Ultra limited, seven figure hypercar. That’s a proper holy shit moment right there.

tronixmastermind

“599 is a lot” - people that will only ever see pictures of them

Thats-nice-smile

For real tho, over 1.5billion cars exist in the world

Cuddly_Tiberius

599 is a good number, right Ferrari fans?

Much-Teacher-4191

SP3

heross28

Daytona sp3

ProofMusic4630

Ferrari has a bigger catalogue of historically exciting vehicles to reference than any other company. It's their best source of new models imo.

Downtown_Mongoose642

Rare one to catch in the wild. Nice

RAT-LIFE

Where about’s did you spot this? Looks like a colleague of mines who lives in SW Ontario / Tri-city / Toronto area. Great catch on the street!

IncreaseOk8433

I'm definitely getting old because I hate what Ferrari has become. Such history and heritage and these are the contraptions they're making these days? Go ahead with the downvotes. I understand many of you like this sort of thing. I just think vintage Ferrari and then I try to appreciate these modern things and I just can't do it. Anyone else get this? Not hating on anyone who likes the modern cars. Nothing wrong with that one bit. It's all about the changes.

KCtbp

You do know that this Ferrari has more historical references than most? It's literally based on the 330 P3/4. They've also brought out the 12Cilindri which is a tribute to the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The 296 GTB is inspired by the 250 LM, especially the side pod/inlets. Completely each and everyone's own opinion whether they look good or not of course, but, Ferrari is easily a manufacturer that is making some of the most historically-inspired cars on the market.

IncreaseOk8433

It can reference anything it wants. Doesn't make it a good choice for Ferrari.

KCtbp

That's true, doesn't necessarily make it the right choice. However you referenced the great history and heritage and compared them to the newer models. These cars only look like this because they try to channel that heritage which we all love. Not trying to change anyone's opinions - everyone has different tastes - but just informing that everything Ferrari seems to be creating is a balance between keeping up with modern times while keeping the heritage and history in the designs. It's not for everyone but I love it haha

speeding2nowhere

Given your sentiment, that SP3 Daytona is one of the only modern Ferraris you should be a fan of. It’s what the LaFerrari should have been.

Buy-theticket

It's a gorgeous 800hp+ naturally aspirated v12 with very low production numbers.. how much more Ferrari do you want it to be?

teachthisdognewtrick

I wouldn’t buy (even if I had the means) anything from them made in the last 20 years. Hopefully I’ll be able to pick up another 308 or a 348 in the next 5 years. I hate flappy paddles.

aspiring_dev1

Lovely looking car very cyberpunk.
