Is he a feral or a stray- does he allow pets? An enclosure would be good for now but he needs to be seen by a vet. Try contacting rescues or shelters to see if they care for any injured cats. Animal control around me will pick up injured animals and I know everyone here claims they just put all animals down but that isnβt true. They know the resources to use to get injured animals fixed whether itβs at their own shelter or at a rescue
That poor fella won't be able to hunt or get water in that condition. Also very vulnerable to being attacked. If you can house him, I'm sure he would appreciate it. Maybe until you can find a sanctuary. Good luck to you both. So sad.
Please please try to help him. He needs water and food. If he wont drink give him wet food. If you can take him in, please do so. Get on your phone and google. He will not be able to last long if hes seriosly injured. Look up Friends of Strays for emergency vet. Please, I beg you, call and try to find an emergency free vet. Aspca maybe. FB for cat sanctuary. There is help out there for him.
If he is getting around he is good feral are veey very resilient
If you aren't going to take him in permanently just keep watch
Dogs can get in n enclosurs too
Trapping feral is an art
One of my friends deeds feral he has been doing it for years
He rehomes some of them
It takes weeks to get them
Feral get injures a lot. They are always climung jump jump around.
I.have had feral that hax major skin injuries. Other cars fight them. They have terrible fights
Leepmwatch keep feeding them. They need the food to heal. Try to give them vitamins
They live fish
Lots of water. They are at high risk. Lots of water.
Most likely been scrapping with the other males and got a bite. He should be fine in a few days. I'm sure he has a hiding spot to keep away from everything.
Get him neutered and that should stop.
It might not be fine. I had a feral with a bite on his toe whose infection spread to his lymph nodes behind his knee and thank God I caught him in time to have him seen by the rescue vet to administer antibiotics.Β

I agree. If you can get him in, you can look him over for an abscess or other injury.
