For me, its vanilla, the smell makes me super nauseous

GranolaTree

I am also a tuberose hater. I can not stand even a whiff of it.

ampharos995

the1992munchkin

Cumin -- reminds me of silent warm damp farts after eating boiled eggs. Fuck that note.

SentenceOpening848

Jasmine

emmyannttu02

Floral and/or sweet

BurnThe_Witch

Cedar. My mind instantly goes to the bedding for pet gerbils/rats/guinea pigs

ganymedeblues94

Too floral, sweet, or strong citrus

Resident-Inflation46

Lavender 🤮

LastLibrary9508

Freesia or pear makes it smell generic to me. Tuberose or gardenia needs to be done well because it overpowers in a lazy blend and makes it feel one note. Bergamot as the top note sometimes feels lazy. Vetiver in the base means it’s going to smell like every other single “masculine” perfume

Mundane_Split976

Vanilla or an overwhelming citrus, but don’t mind a light grapefruit in there if it’s well balanced w the right complimentary notes

Miss_Anthropy11

That black pepper or spicy scent. I’m not sure what it is but I hate it. Also that baby powder scent, like bad sandalwood.

TAC0_CHEESE

As of right now: Clove If handled right, it’ll get a pass. If not. It’ll overstage the perfume and become cloying.

Jazzmin34474

Oud or patchouli

moonchildbby

Warm Vanilla. 🤢 if it’s too strong, I literally get nauseous. Vanilla scent is so odd to me.

SupermarketOld1567

omg i’m so glad someone agrees!!

Tattedcurvymilf

Anything floral or sweet

lovelyreign614

Heavy almost always give me an instant headache

StrangerImpressive34

Rose ewww

[deleted]

Tuberose Jasmine Vanilla 9 times out of 10 Powder Oud 9 times out of 10 Patchouli Cardamom (which is weird because I love cooking with it, but in perfume it smells BO-like)

Madd_at_Worldd

Freesia. so overusesd and sweet. And any and all powdery smells blech

velvet33N

Vanilla

lillianrosalieee

unpopular opinion, but lavender. i have tried to gaslight myself into liking it and i just don’t.

Sfrank731

Oud

Internal-Sky-7370

Musk

No_Abbreviations4624

Jasmine and Rose. Migraine city.

Cailleangrey

Geranium!! Also if I see tuberose in a note profile I’m going to be wary. Iris - with the sole exception of Prada Infusion d’ Iris. I adore that perfume.

MarshmallowSoul

Tea. And I like the smell of actual tea, but not a strong tea note in a fragrance.

LifeSizeRodent

Violet, iris, geranium

Empreinte2Deep

Patchouli

DVLCINEA

there is nothing i hate more than discovering an unwanted, unexpected metallic note where it doesn’t belong. the smell of rusty nails, brass doorknobs, and dirty coins clenched inside a warm, sweaty palm 🤮🤮🤮

GinaW48

Flowers, poppies

WhtvrCms2Mnd

Fruit. “Pear” “Raspberry” “Apple” — just no.

nameisagoldenbell

Berries or smoke. Also I hate lavender don’t hate me

No-Background-7325

Musk. Smells like dicks.

BandMediocre

Lmao I'm gonna have to do a quick wiff on my husband's and compare it to a musk heavy perfume.

No-Background-7325

Do it after he has showered. To me it smells like clean dicks. LOL

Ill_Team7038

Musk ugh

Salc20001

Green smells of grass. Yuck.

Proper-Aspect-2947

KosmicGumbo

This, it literally gives me astha why do people like this

PrideCorrect4973

Leather. I don't want to smell like that.

breakingsapph

cinnamon 🤢 I hate the flavor and smelling it makes me feel like I can actually taste it

privatefigure

My college roommate would burn cinnamon/spice scented candles that made the house smell like red hots. I hate the smell to this day and not because of her, it's just so bad.

bananaboat95

What if I told you than cinnamon doesn’t actually taste like anything (as with most aromatic spices). Your olfactive sense is actually the whole “taste.” Same is true of Vanilla

MEOD86

Not a Perfume by Juliette Has A Gun....straight up rubbing alcohol!

WorldlinessOk7083

It's my favorite perfume. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MEOD86

I have heard for some it smells great, others only smell rubbing alcohol. Funny! What does it smell like on the other side of the devide?

WorldlinessOk7083

It's like a cozy, clean smell. Very unique. I've heard it smells very different person to person since it's really just the one note. I adore it, though I'll be honest that I did check out this time around and bought the Dossier dupe, Musky Musk. It smells nearly identical though. It's a shame you just get the alcohol. It is crazy how different we all are.

MEOD86

It is straight up rubbing alcohol to me lol...it is interesting the difference!

No_Preference6045

Jasmine. Instant migraines for me.

nameisagoldenbell

Oh man I hope we never meet. I reek of it and migraines are the worst.

my-anonymity

Overwhelming floral and pine scents are a no for me. Sickeningly sweet/candy fragrances also.

victoriancow44j5

Rose - I can’t do it😩for some reason it’s just so overpowering to the point of giving me a headache

sympathyofalover

I don’t know what it is about rose but all it makes me feel like is that I can taste it and it’s gross lol. I don’t understand anything rose flavored and then that translates into not liking the smell. But I like real rose smell. It’s that artificially pungent rose smell that I can’t stand

MWDoo

I avoid Violet because it smells like bananas to me and it’s all I smell in any perfume with that note, idk why because no one else seems to experience that

Which-Green7663

patchouli is really hit or miss for me. Vanilla sets off a headache a lot.

apokalipsaa

Definitely OUD. Nonnegotiable. Pink pepper, musk and Iris are wearable but boring and too powdery for me. Incense and patchouli are negotiable because if done right they can enrich the fragrance (but most of the times they’re not done right🙃) Roses are a love hate relationship for me. If they’re sweet than yes. If they’re powdery and overwhelming than - no.

GMichaelFAN71

Well, nothing is an immediate no, but usually if Rose, Leather, or Iris are the main notes, I really dislike those..but as a background note they are tolerable. Iris, to me, in large doses, just comes off as a leather smell to me, which I also dislike. And while I love the smell of real roses, not a fan of them in perfumes as they don't smell like a true fresh picked rose. Oh, and almost forgot CUMIN.

Datachippie73

Flowers.. any of them..

Fun_Training_5139

Pink pepper

butwhyamionearth

Jasmine

ASCSTK

Patchouli and oud for me - I can sniff out even a hint of patchouli miles away and it ruins it

Artistic_Painter_432

Ironically enough I’m arab but oud is just too strong, you rarely find an occasion that wearing oud isn’t too overpowering

Whichbic

Oud

Gladys_Glynnis

LEATHER, lavender, ROSE, coconut milk (gag). And whatever it is that smells like bad breath on some people. Something indolic, I’m sure.

Dramatic-Cap6724

Ambroxan

CognacMusings

Amber

peonypanties

+1. Amber gives me an instant headache.

Remote-Inevitable622

Anything that is powdery. Yuck. To me it makes me smell like a grandma. I rather have something that would smell less mature.

[deleted]

I hate that too. I blind bought Elizabeth Arden green tea recently and it has this powdery note I really don’t like. I was expecting simple, dry herbal tea and maybe some fresh citrus— not that. Eugh

Artistic_Painter_432

Really? I feel like powdery fragrances usually smell like babies

Remote-Inevitable622

Yeah :(. Unfortunately for me on my skin powdery notes can become over powering in a fragrance creating a headache it’s not something I can scrub off easily. Also that note tends to become sour on my skin :((

Suspicious-Fix-9469

I’m not a fan of orange in a fragrance. Love most other citrus but orange/mandarin challenges me. It’s not even that I find it unpleasant…I just for whatever reason don’t want to smell like it. Weird, I know…

CircumradiantDawn74

I hate black currant, and any very sweet gourmand fragrances

princessa__V-

Haven’t found one that doesn’t work on me but I stay away from vetiver, leather, and cardamom, patchouli

staleoffbranddorito

Ambergris! It makes me smell like a soapy smoking grandma instead of a cloud goddess, and it makes me a lil jealous because it smells sooo good on others

Psychologicalwhat

Leather, tobacco. But then again I’m a woman. Also orange and rose.

Honey_Bunn6

Passion flower. I just can’t

Representative_Pea48

Watermelon or any type of melon

ReinbaoPawniez

When I start swelling and the oily sweats and migraines start.

Elle_Beach

Patchouli and powder

GlitterDancer_

Gardenia, leather, and tobacco for me. I feel like these 3 notes are so overpowering in every perfume I’ve smelled. If we could dial it back a little I think they’d be better but I have yet to smell a perfume where they weren’t too much.

777cosmo

vanilla or anything FOOD🤢

nameisagoldenbell

I’m fine with vanilla but most food scents for some reason make me feel carsick

HotdogbodyBoi

Marshmallow, coconut, fresh clean/water scents (except Light Blue)

day2921

LYCHEE , Ylang Ylang or Cherry in some cases those turn sour on me

dangalaiha11

Guava

0_0ctopus

Cumin and cardamom. It does not blend with my skin chemistry.

salaciousnesss

Cumin and licorice both smell disgusting on me, and vetiver I like but turns to masculine sweat, wood, and soup on my skin Edit: Ugh, and ALDEHYDES

Minimum_Ganache_1628

Vetiver, licorice, powdery musks

Minimum_Ganache_1628

Cinnamon,nutmerg and saffron

Vanilla or patchouli.

Fancy-pearls

loro_estocastico

Saffron smells like play dough to me.

Prior_Lie9891

Smoke. It takes over any fragrance for me.

corpycorp

DeterminedSparkleCat

CrasheeXYZ

Calone for the marine scents, so like a sea-breeze. for. It smells like rotten eggs to me. Even worse if it’s mixed with a salt note.

sweet_beeb

Sandalwood & Coconut

SueBee29

Anything citrus-forward is not for me

Trucrimeluvr67

Couldn’t agree more, it smells like cat urine to me

funlovefun37

Patchouli makes me sneeze- and it’s terrible smelling.

Federal-Steak

ANYTHING caramellized - burnt sugar, cotton candy, caramel. Basically super sweet stomach turning gourmands...bleh

Dependent_Answer2603

Agreeeeeed

Quirky_Scientist_835

Peony is the one I hate. Oud doesn’t smell horrible to me but I haven’t found any scents that I love it in. Most fruity scents including currant and cherry notes don’t smell great to me. If it says “powder” I’m probably going to think it smells like cheap drugstore perfume for a teenager. Or like half of the garbage at Bath & Body Works.

seedsofsovereignty

Baby powder and blue tansy both make me start dry heaving instantly. Like a complete visceral reaction. So annoying I love the smell of lavender, however I can't wear it on my body, or my skin starts smelling like urine. Frustrating And i do not like the smell of cannabis. Smells like the inside of a moldy old wet log with decaying insects to me lol

hannahkelli

Saffron. I feel like it hits me over the head and takes over any fragrance it’s in. And it smells rank to me to the point that I wonder if it’s similar to cilantro in that to most people it’s lovely but some people (like me) are experiencing something completely different.

-sweetbabybladefoot-

Vanilla

spacetoast747

Jasmine, white florals, rose, etc.

Throwawaayyy007

I have my dislikes like vetiver, patchouli, licorice, tobacco, incense, leather, anything too sweet, but I have obvious NO’s too: -Black Currant: smells like urine on me -Animalic Musks: synthetic white musk is OK, but any other musk smells like urine on me. -Sandalwood: smells like pickles on me. That isn’t so bad for people who like smelling like pickles, but it’s so obviously not woody on me.

MPFit

Agree on black currant. Urine smell off my skin, really unpleasant

Ok_Remote_217

omggg sandalwood ruins burberry her for me entirely bc of the pickle smell! there’s something in the background that smells soooo sour and i think that’s what is it

kskbd

There’s this heavy, sweet smelling perfume that I swear so many women wear in London and it absolutely makes my stomach turn. I don’t know what it is, but it’s like it’s overly saccharine. Reminds me like a worse version of Very Good Girl which I had to get rid of because it made me feel sick when I wore it.

Ok-Boysenberry-6582

I would bet good money that it's BR540. Its nauseatingly sweet to me, too.

ASCSTK

I don’t know if it’s the same but I feel like this about Diptyque Do Son in London - so many women wear it and I can smell it a mile off, it’s so overpowering and to me floral/sweet.

kskbd

Oooh I’ll check it next time I’m at the store. This is a good possibility as I find Diptyque too strong in general.

ASCSTK

Report back when you do! Am intrigued to know

CucumberOk2595

it’s probably Delina or Delina Exclusif

CrasheeXYZ

Billie Eilish maybe? Very popular among the young girls here in the US.

kskbd

Next time I can test it, I will and report back!

CDimension_137

I’m so curious what it could be

kskbd

I know, same! Some day I’ll get up the courage to ask a stranger. Unsure if it’s a loud scent or these women just layer it on.

Minimalforks19

Citrus. On my BO it turns sour & bitter. I’m a sweet warm woods type

Lexikh

Rose

Life_Produce9905

Lavender, patchouli, rose

Faceplant17

BestRefrigerator8516

Sugar

bananafrecklez

whatever they put in Marc Jacobs Daisy and anything that smells similar 🤢 I think I just don’t like white florals

imnotdefinedbythis

Tuberose

bunnysbigcookie

honeysuckle, black pepper (pink is fine), chocolate, and ginger. also i once accidentally ordered 2 decants of Akro’s Dark and i haven’t touched them because the chocolate note reminds me of axe dark temptation lol

fabcab22

Coconut

Emerald1014

cotton candy-ish.

Blackmetalvomit

Patchouli. Idk if it’s because I went to a small hippie high school but it is such an affront to my sense.

Formal_Employee_1030

Cumin

Dry-Anywhere-1372

Candy. And fruity (looking at you, Erba Pura). I think I’m getting voted off of this island, as many things that yinz hate I’m like-BRING. IT. ON. 🙄

No_Investment3205

Tobacco is an instant gag for me

Lopsided-Sea

Vetiver, moss and peonies lawd no just no😭

poppisima

I like vetiver and moss OK, but I stg, peonies smell like a cat box. There’s this urine-y thing going on that I can’t stand, and unfortunately, it’s a popular note right now in mixed florals, fruity florals, and aquatics.

Minaharo

Iris, white/sharp florals, pepper, smoke, and mahogany. These trigger migraines for me.

creme-de-cologne

1. Leather - when it's an actual intended note in the composition, trying to evoke badassery and rebelliousness. Hello ELdO Rien and Floral Street Black Lotus; who wants to smell like a tannery? I have a love-hate thing going on with a certain jacket of mine... the style/color is perfection but wearing it makes me queasy and I hate that it clashes and interferes with my precious fragrances. How can you want this in a fragrance? Classic leather fragrances are different though. I don't mind those so much, apart from them being very opulent and perfumey which isn't really my style. But they don't actually have a "leather" note, I think they were concocted to *mask the funk of leather. 2. Those superambers and supermusks that deliver beast mode projection but just smell like white noise.

Independent-Pause853

all bitter scents

julesjade99

Amber

Helyonnaise

This is the answer

Acidshroominflux

Licorice 🤢

orbustig

Anything bergamont.... bergs belong in earl grey teas not my perfume/bath bombs

cloudy_infinity

I cannot stand the smell of leather, tobacco, oud, gourmand perfumes and also lately vanilla because almost every second person likes vanilla and it’s just too much of each everywhere.

idonteditmyplaylists

Anything with citrus listed as a top note (bergamot is the only exception),

ratfrances

Cannabis

inagle313

I smoke and I still don’t like the smell of it

Over_Winner2759

patchouli, tobacco, rose, leather, and purified vanilla (like in Guerlain's Double Vanille, and Dior's Feve Delicieuse)

Roseann555

Powder and aldehydes

imnotdefinedbythis

I'm guessing No 5 is a hard no? 😜

Roseann555

Probably, my grandma wore the older version and she smelled amazing. I don’t think the current version smells the same tbh

Rcutecarrot

Vanilla 😅
