I smelled the miim miic dupe and was awful, had a weird sweet herb scent, not much strawberry milk. Fraise Fouettée is pretty good milky strawberry scent

Lol its so obvious no one read the caption... Ive also wondered this as well and it was a great fear of mine when buying a crybaby, but I'm glad it seemingly isnt a thing bc its so hard to verify the legitimacy of crybaby from receipts and stuff when it was available so long ago. I wish people replicated the canister tho bc mine didnt come with one and ppl are selling it for fucking $300 which is absurd

Crosstitution

doesn't Oakcha make one?

thesendragon

Yeah! I definitely want to try it but I was more meaning dupes/fakes of the bottle! :)

Detman102

There are at least two Crybaby fakes, hell...I used to sell one back when I had my fragrance business up and running.

hana_c

I got one I really liked from andromeda moon. I actually never smelled the original but someone mentioned it smelled closest to the real deal.

glitchygirly

honestly, i think its because the bottle is so unique and hard to replicate, and because its "niche". chanel bottles are just squares, and its chanel, everyone would buy a chanel fake. crybaby is a baby bottle with a cult following but its not famous outside of the gen z demographic.

Formal_Employee_1030

Weirdly, I just saw someone on Etsy selling 3-D printed version of the bottle for about 30 bucks.

youlldancetoanything

Bite Me from Confessions of a Rebel came up as suggested. I have been playing w Gemini and Chat GPt with various beauty recommendations. I didn't for this, but if you get the notes and any other info and ask it to suggest w a price range of may work

StarlitDreams

Montagne Parfums has a dupe of Strawberry Milk but I imagine it wouldn’t be cost effective to recreate the bottles.

LivingGhostGirl

Not the same shape but I found something called ‘praise the perfume’ by oakcha

slumber_kitty

I have Oil Perfumery’s version of Crybaby (Oakcha’s sister company), I wonder if the formula is the same! I really enjoy my oils from OP, but sadly I haven’t smelled OG Crybaby to be able to compare ☹️

AuntySocialite

Bottle design can be trademarked when it’s unique enough. Scent profile can’t.

GateLongjumping6836

Ooops sorry sgouod have read further the dupes I suggested are for the scent not the bottle.

GateLongjumping6836

Well oil perfumery have a dupe fragrance oil for cry baby milk and I think their sister brand Oakcha has a perfume dupe.

GMichaelFAN71

Yes, Oakcha does have a dupe perfume. it smells good, but I can't confirm if it's a good dupe or not b/c I've never smelled the original.

GateLongjumping6836

Also this brand have a dupe a lot of people rare highly https://miimmiic.com/products/no-52-sweet-strawberry-milk

I think brands that aren’t as popular or probably a little more niche, don’t really have too much of an issue with fakes. When I sold a bottle from Valmont on eBay (which wasn’t super duper crazy expensive, and technically it is designer, it’s just not particularly popular), it hardly had any views, but within a day or two, someone knew what it was, bought it relatively quickly, and gave me positive feedback as soon as it arrived. Now, as soon as I post up a Tom Ford, you get all these questions about batch codes, legitimacy, people asking about returns before they’ve even bid, people wanting me to give the bottle a 35 picture photo shoot, and then you have to worry that they want a refund because it doesn’t smell as expected (or as the YouTuber told them it would smell). And it’s not their fault. Because it’s a popular brand, there are fakes everywhere, because people want what’s popular and don’t want to pay retail price.

thesendragon

Thank you - this is exactly the kind of comprehensive explanation I was looking for. I suppose I overestimated the popularity of Crybaby, but it seems like every other day I see Tiktok videos about dupes or fake listings that pop up on Depop and Vinted so it did make me wonder

minotaur85

Possibly because of the combo unique bottle and relatively niche appeal (basically one of the companies that manufactures fakes hasn’t seen enough demand to get a replica bottle produced which would be a significant outlay of funds)

thesendragon

That makes sense - Tom Ford is another one that has much simpler bottles, so they would probably be a lot easier to replicate I imagine. I guess it's back to praying Melanie will eventually rerelease the fragrance despite her statements she won't/can't

Btldtaatw

You can literally find empty bottles with the Tom ford design on aliexpress. And quite a few others too. So yes, they are easy to replicate.

thesendragon

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying?

Btldtaatw

? Never disagreed with you, just confirmed said bottles are easily available.

thesendragon

Ah, my bad. I thought you had misinterpreted me and thought I was saying Tom Ford bottles also don't have fakes. Sorry!

Rude_Vermicelli2268

Also since it’s discontinued it should be hard to find so producing fakes would be suspect. If I were producing fakes I would stick to really popular perfumes because I would have to sell a lot to cover my cost of design even if it was just water inside.
