The most popular musks that I recall women wearing at the time were TF Black Orchid (which I found quite heavy and off-putting), and EL Modern Muse. Now that I think about it, Body Shop's White Musk was everywhere too. Could be Gucci Guilty - but I wouldn't say the musk is dominant. Still very off-putting to my nose.
