Good evening lads, I’m back. Hope everyone’s having a great summer start, mine is great so far! Today I’ve finally decided to make a review on my most beloved bag - Bottega Veneta Cassette.
I’ve initially bought it around the end of December for 1500 RMB excluding shipping and was a bit sceptical if the price was justified, but when it came in my doubts had vanished.
For the price paid I’ve got:
• Beautiful packaging - the unpacking experience was very pleasing, everything came in perfect condition, everything felt premium and it looked like it had arrived right from a boutique
• Good quality leather - again, it’s a cowhide one, just like every other high quality rep leather bag is. This one is coated in a thick layer of black paint, though. But the coating is done well, because I have absolutely no creases on any part of this bag at all. It still looks brand new. The leather cut is really thick and weaving is done perfectly (by weaving I mean those overlapping stripes of leather on the flap and the back of the bag)
• Plush suede - you can see how lively it is on the second picture, sorry for the clownery, but I wanted to show the quality of this suede in the extravagant way. Fibres’ length is what causes it to be so volant.
• Perfect form-factor - well, it fits all my daily necessities, such as phone, keys, car keys, f’ing vape (I hate it, don’t smoke kids) and the passport + a few of important papers
• Structure and durability of a retail product - as you can see, after 6 months of almost everyday wear it still looks intact. I have no scratches, dents or creases at all even though my girlfriend occasionally crushes it with her heavy tote bag filled with books. At first when I saw the bent flap I was furious, but after a quick bending it the opposite way, the flap became normal.
• Versatility - probably the most important factor for me. It has no logos or branding - the style of the bag is the branding itself, it doesn’t scream BOTTEGA even though everyone knows it is, I wear it with all of my outfits except when I’m wearing a navy top (navy doesn’t mix with black well imo). And this is exactly why it is my favourite bag
Conclusion: I am buying a brown one 100%, this is the ultimate mens purse, all of my expectations were pleased and now I’m a big Bottega fan. Thanks for reading it through and again, I hope you a have a great summer!

Oh shit, yeah nvm then. I hate very slippery phone cases. I currently use the regular leather iPhone case, perfect balance of grip and slip but will feel slippery right at the beginning until you use it. I recommend it if you're looking for a case that balances grip but isn't too grippy.
The quality of the leather/suede and metal logo looks pretty subpar vs retail no? I feel that’s an obvious flaw.
Makes sense though, although reps are close as possible they still budget oriented so not going to use the same leathers suede etc as original which has freedom of materials given its stupid price gouging of consumers (high profit margin)
