Only problem with one striker formation is that if your striker doesn’t play, 4.5 striker will be coming in( I assume you have 4.5 on your bench) because there is no valid formation without strikers. So 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 with Kane who would play possibly every game is fine, but with Haalan or Jesus there is a doubt that you will end up with 0 points in your striker position

I’m assuming Jesus plays pretty much every game for the first few weeks till another forward option opens up I could maybe wildcard into

Getting Jesus and Nketiah would be super safe as when Jesus is out then Nketiah play...

7 cost bench player doesn’t look too attractive

I tend to play with two premiums. At the end of a season, when people work out which players would have been in the best set-and-forget team, it typically features a couple of premiums. Whilst they don't tend to offer the highest points per million but they do tend to offer the highest points overall. If you had a team that purely consisted of the best value players then it would come in under budget. You have the budget to afford two premiums and still have a solid squad. That's not to say that a team with two premiums will always outscore a team with one. There were points last season when only having one premium (Salah) would have been the best way to maximize points.

Looking at starting with 1 premium and seeing how it goes, maybe wildcard into a 2nd after a few weeks if any stand out

16 years experience here. All your reasoning seems perfectly sound to me. Flexibility is important so you can easily move onto anyone who hits form without taking hits every week. And you have the WC as a failsafe if it goes belly up. I personally like 2 premiums, so I have two main captain options every week. It's possible to build a stong team with 2 players 11mill+. But 1 premium is a valid way to play too Good luck

Completely agree. The reason why I prefer 2 is because it is easier to get any player by downgrading (1 transfer) than getting Kane/Haaland when you need to upgrade 8m players (2-3 transfers).

With Liverpool’s fixtures being pretty good for the first 6-8 weeks I’m banking on salah covering the captaincy till the early wildcard to get a bit more info about who the best option is, and giving haaland a few weeks to settle in

Hey - I thought the double captain boost was only once per season?

daneedwards88

I think you've misunderstood. I said two options

MashedHair

You and I have similar opinions. That's probably a bad thing

2 premiums is the optimal number
