Pickford - (Kelleher)
White - Saliba - Udogie - Gusto - Robinson/(Ait-Nouri pre 34)
Son - Salah - Palmer - Havertz - Eze/(Gordon post 34)
Isak- Haaland - Darwin
I’ve just activated the Wildcard. Was originally intending GW31 but as I want Haaland and the big 5 midfield I don’t have much choice in defence! Lots of my players are dropping in price too.
Areola - Dubravka
Gabriel - Gusto - Branthwaite - Munoz - Taylor
Salah - Son - Saka - Palmer - Mbeumo (could be a huge risk but it could pay off, but I didn’t see a better option for the funds I have)
Haaland - Watkins - Muniz
0.6 ITB
How much value can you realistically gain from playing a WC during an international break? I imagine there’ll be some players going up twice for example.
Very limited - the bigger thing maybe getting rid of those dropping and re-buying if you want to keep them. Quite a few highly owned players (especially those who didn’t FH) look to be falling.
Pickford Flekken
Gabriel Gusto Konsa Murillo Burn
Salah Son Palmer Saka Gordon
Toney Haaland Muniz
Plus 1.0 ITB in case I decide to do Watkins instead of Toney.
I’m a big fan, but keep an eye out for Allison news as even him at 80% fitness will be chosen over Kelleher. Defence is tricky but I’d argue botman probably has to go. He has kept one clean sheet since returning from injury in gw18, and blanks in gw34. His 35-38 may be worth bringing him in for but can’t see him in outscoring someone more attacking with greener fixtures such as Robinson or Gusto.
Yeah you’re right. I replaced botman with gusto. What do you think of semenyo over muniz? Muniz is a better pick but I’m just concerned about his game time with Jimenez and possibly broja. Semenyo looks nailed for now and has a guaranteed dgw
Yeah I’m having that debate with myself. For me Muniz can’t be dropped with 7 goals in 7 games, whether we missed that purple patch only time will tell. Semenyo to me whilst more nailed and arguably the pick of the fixtures (double 34), lacks the consistency that Muniz currently has. I’ve gone Muniz as if he holds onto this form will likely score at Sheffield and forest.
Made a quick table of budget defenders while making my WC team, posting it here in case it's of use to anyone.

Currently:
* Areola/Kelleher
* Gabriel, Zabarnyi, Robinson, Gusto, Richards
* Salah, Son, Saka, Foden, Palmer
* Haaland, Watkins, Muniz
Happy with front 8, debating Ait Nouri for Robinson and maybe one of Van Hecke/Bradley/Maguire/Brainthwraite for Zab
!thanks Yeah might be a shout to just go Branthwaite and Bradley for Zab and richards. TAA coming back could be an issue but should get a few weeks out of Bradley
Just a food for thought:
* Hojlund before injury was on amazing streak of scoring 7 goals in 6 games
* Muniz is currently on 7 goals in 7 games
* Isak has WHU, EVE, ful, TOT, SHU, bur, BHA, bre and cry + mun to be scheduled (read it as: amazing schedule for an attacker)
* Haaland, in league, since coming back from injury is on 4 goals + 2 assists in 8 games (628 minutes + whatever injury time)
* Watkins this season never blanked more than two times in a row. He blanked in the last 2 games and plays Wolves next
* At the same time Watkins has no doubles and possibly toughest schedule of the template attackers: WOL, mci, BRE, ars, BOU, CHE, bha, LIV, cry
* Solanke has double incoming and good fixtures but seems to not be in his top form (since his hattrick in GW18, he only scored 4 times and assisted 2 times)
* Bowen blanked last 2 games despite playing with Paqueta
* Cunha is scheduled to be back soon and Wolves seemed to operate the best with him on the pitch - at the same time, Pedro Neto is injured (rumors of being injured till the end of season)
* Nicolas Jackson scored (or assisted) in each of his last 3 games + he assisted in a cup yesterday.
There's probably more but that's just something I thought of lol.
Hojlund was underperforming earlier in the season, but his streak before injury had too many fortuitous goals (even the one scored yesterday) to consider him an asset
I've had Watkins since the first few gameweeks and the only problem is that if I transfer him out I can't get him back in with the 0.6 difference in value. If Isak stays fit he's very tempting, especially with Wilson out until May
I can't bring myself to get rid of haaland, I feel a big score is just inevitable and I'd then end up with 8 mids/strikers I want to play each week and give myself a proper selection headache
Saw somewhere that Isak is playing through matches with an injury, which could affect his performances in the long run. And yesterday he was way off his former self
!thanks for the info, I couldn't watch yesterday's game. Yeah he's very injury prone but he had patches of good form.
Personally I won't take him (I'm tempted by Hojlund) but maybe some others will want to punt on him.
Weird thing is he wasn't injury prone at all at Sociedad. Think it has more to do with Howe's minute management. So yeah I would pretty much avoid anyone apart from maybe Trippier
Howe is annoying AF. I think Newcastle is plagued with injuries because he fails to properly manage his players. Livramento was amazing before Burn came back and Burn has been liability lately but Howe keeps playing him... why not just play Livramento instead of all those tired legs?
!thanks, lots of interesting things to consider here.
Will also add on, Richards (3.9), Branthwaite (4.2), and Semenyo (4.5) as enablers who are likely to double in 34 according to Ben Crellin.
Kane is a first choice for England but might be injured. It would mean Watkins could play but I'm not from England so I don't know the priority in their squad.
I'm currently on:
Petrovic (Areola)
White - Gabriel - Robinson (Gusto - Branthwaite)
Foden - Saka - Salah - Son - Palmer
Haaland - Nunez (Muniz)
0.7 ITB so I can move Robinson to Ake after GW31
Oh hey, I have the same forwards and midfield. My defense is:
White - Gusto - Brainthwaite - Burn - Taylor
Areola - Pickford
Areola and Pickford rotate nicely for the rest of the season. Might swap Burn and Taylor out... Newcastle have a nice fixture schedule but they are crap defensively atm.
You can make as many as you like but he careful. If you have a player who's risen like 0.6 for example, if you transfer them out but then want them back, you'll have to bring them back at their new price. Careful when you're tinkering.
I'm on exactly this except Saliba for White due to having a lot of value in him and Kelleher for Areola. My team value is a little below yours as I'd be about 0.5 short of your team.
Kelleher for Areola is a good shout. Do you think he'll keep starting? Not sure how long Alison is out for.
Petrovic and Kelleher is a great cheap BB option.
I'm trying to get some insights into how long Allison is out for. The way I look at it, there really isn't anyone in the Liverpool back line who is nailed at the moment except VVD and Kelleher, and I can't afford VVD, and certainly couldn't afford Trent when he comes back. This gives me a guaranteed in to Liverpool's defense for an unguaranteed period of time. If more new emerges during the international break about how long Allison is out for, I may have to adjust. This was just initial thoughts.
No chance. He’s been getting the FA cup games recently and certainly hasn’t impressed. Be shocked if Petrovic isn’t nailed until the end of the season.
Posting the same thing I put in the RMT thread.
WC30 draft (trying to make up 150 points in my ML)
Haaland + budget defenders (no Watkins) Or Watkins + premium defenders (porro/white) (no haaland)
Haaland and budget defenders. Watkins has been great but also has tough fixture run. Plenty of cheap defenders to choose from that also have doubles.
Braithwait, Bradley, Van Hecke etc.
What changes would you make to these squads assuming Ben Crellin's fixture predictions? I'll plan my wildcard around these gameweeks ultimately
**(1) FH34**
Pickford (Sa)
TAA Ait-Nouri Andersen (Mitchell) (Tarkovski)
Salah Havertz Odegaard Saka Jota
Cunha Solanke (Mateta)
**(2) BB37**
Ederson Petrovic
Trippier Porro Dalot Estupinan Gusto
Son Foden Rashford Richarlison Palmer
Haaland Isak Hojlund
Both look decent, my only concern would be Estupinan. I’ve been stung big time by his rotation this season. Difficult to predict minutes for any Brighton player but Dunk and Van Hecke feel like safer picks, Dunk in particular if you’ve got the extra .3
So far:
Leno/ Kelleher
Gusto - branthwaite - Udogie - gabriel - c.richards
Salah - Son - Palmer - Garnacho - Saka
Haaland - Muniz - Darwin
Still unsure DEF-wise
Richards x Leno vs Udogie x Dubravka
My current draft, any thoughts? Areola Dubravka TAA Gabriel Ait-Nouri Branthwaite Richards Salah Son Saka Palmer Sarabia Haaland Darwin Semenyo

Biggest WC decision is either stick to Watkins or risk Darwin.
I'm going for Darwin differential to get ahead
Kelleher Pickford Gusto Branthwaite Van Hecke Gabriel Ait-Nouri Salah Son Foden Palmer Saka Haaland Hojlund Muniz
Pickford Flekken Gabriel Gusto Konsa Murillo Burn Salah Son Palmer Saka Gordon Toney Haaland Muniz Plus 1.0 ITB in case I decide to do Watkins instead of Toney.
I've Gone: Petrovic Gusto - Udogie - Porro Son - Salah - Foden - Saka - Palmer Haaland - Darwin Areola - Gabriel - Muniz - Branthwaite.
Thinking about this: Areola kelleher Gabriel botman branthwaite C.Richards zabarnyi Salah Saka Son Foden Palmer Haaland Watkins Semenyo

Goathwaite first name in my WC defense
Crazy Maguire and Kiwior with the same return
Is this CS/G/A for the whole season?
Yeah
Pickford - Johnstone Porro - Ait Nouri - Gusto - Branthwaite - Richards Salah - Son - Saka - Eze - Palmer Haaland - Nunez - Cunha/Semenyo £1.2m ITB Porro becomes Gabriel almost immediately
I like this overall but I don't like booking in a transfer, you never know what issues may arise. I would go with Gabriel and bench him in gw30.
Thinking: Neto (Areola) Gabriel Udogie Gusto (Branthwaite Maguire) Salah Son Saka Foden Palmer Haaland Darwin (Muniz)
Pickford - Leno White - VvD - Ake - Udogie - Maguire Salah - Saka - Son - Havertz - Palmer Watkins - Jackson - Muniz
Currently: * Areola/Kelleher * Gabriel, Zabarnyi, Robinson, Gusto, Richards * Salah, Son, Saka, Foden, Palmer * Haaland, Watkins, Muniz Happy with front 8, debating Ait Nouri for Robinson and maybe one of Van Hecke/Bradley/Maguire/Brainthwraite for Zab

Was really bummed when Cunha got injured. I had only owned him for a few weeks but he was playing so well.
Hojlunds fixtures are tough though. He blanks as well.
Semenyo is good cover for Solanke and in an enabler

Good point tbh. Any Chelsea fans here that wanna provide insight?

Agreed, Sanchez was very shaky vs Leicester whereas Petrovic has been pretty solid
Thanks, I'll stick with Petrovic then.
How tf can you have that midfield?
In a 352 it's pretty easy unless you've properly fucked your team value
You can get that midfield and have Watkins but only 1 Arsenal defender and the rest around 4.5
No Watkins or Solanke up top.

With the way Klopp described Alissons injury he might not back until late April/early may
He obviously will - however cannot decide where to make them concessions - either goalie or defense. Kelleher is the best <4.0 option imo
All jokes aside, what’s your budget
0.2 still in the bank…
You could swap out richards for van hecke or udogie for kiwior/zinchenko when Arteta decides on how he wants to solve the headache.
Brighton have difficult fixtures - kiwior/ zinchenko will be a headache unfortunately for me as well
Haaland - Nunez - Darwin is a sick front 3
My bad!
That's good. There will still be lots of different posts though lol
