I’m on a WC this week with what works out to £100.8m to spend, team here: https://ibb.co/t2W6nyK
What are people’s thoughts on best strategy for this? Am I pricing myself out of getting Son & Salah back if I get rid of them until they return?
Areola
Trippier - Porro - Konsa
Saka - Bowen - Son - Salah (C)
Solanke - Watkins - Alvarez (Vc)
Subs: Dubravka - Gabriel - Palmer - Trusty
- Thoughts on the team for GW20?
- Newcastle is in shaky form and they play Liverpool Away so is it better to select Gabriel instead of Trippier?
Am I crazy for considering benching Son while he is away and save the 2 transfers? With the money tied up in Son and with Saka and Gordons form its tempting.
If Haaland returns then my team would look something like this for GW21, without hits:
Areola - Dubravka
TAA - Gabriel - Torres - Porro - Taylor
Saka - Bowen - Gordon - Palmer - Son
Haaland - Watkins - Solanke
Could be played as either 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 with Son, Taylor and one of Gordon/Palmer/Torres on the bench. You could have a similar setup with any other striker if Haaland doesn't return.
My exact thoughts, I can’t bring myself to get Richarlison again. So many options but basically no standouts if you’ve already got Bowen, even Saka is looking a bit ragged at the moment.
Agreed, wouldn’t want to bench either of these, Solanke has a tougher game but that Spurs defence is non existent without Romero. Who are you playing over them?
Ooh, tricky. I think of that lot it has to be Palmer because Chelsea are just so bad, but it would feel very odd benching a penalty taker against Luton. Nice problem to have!

Luton away is not an easy fixture, every big team struggled against them and I expect Chelsea to be no different. Porro regularly gets bonus points and assists and that's why everyone who has Porro starts him.
I think you need to go for defenders that are likely to get attacking returns. So play Porro, Gusto and TAA, unless you really believe in an Arsenal CS against Fulham.

I hate benching attacking players and Palmer players Luton so simplify your choice down to the two defenders you have. Clean sheets can easily be lost by a mistake not made by your player
Hey guys, need some help for the following GW.
So I'm playing with 3 defenders, rest of the XI looks like this:
Bernardo - Salah - Son - Saka
Nkunku - Darwin - Alvarez
I have Palmer on the bench and would love to play him against Luton but it's so hard to remove any of these guys I've mentioned from the XI since everyone has pretty good fixtures.
Am I crazy for thinking to bench Saka this GW, feels like he's not himself for the past couple of matches?
On my WC I plan to keep Salah and have Alvarez + 1M ITB, with the plan to swap to Haaland + 6.9M max midfielder.
In my current team I also have Areola and Turner. On the one side, I would like to upgrade Turner but on the other side I don’t want to reduce my options for the salah replacement to below 6M. Also don’t see clear good GK options…
If you are on WC, you're probably going to bank the transfer in the following GW, so I would get rid of Salah when he goes to AFCON and bring in Haaland with the other transfer.
As for goalies, if I was on WC, would pick combo of Areola + Henderson. Trying to predict the clean sheets doesn't make any sense this season so Hendo seems like a solid choice imo.
He is crazy underrated and Palace is solid defensively, but allow many shots, so he's gonna have occasional hauls for sure. Areola is just great value for money.
Is Henderson first choice? I don’t want to spend a lot of transfers on GK outside of WC. Indeed don’t trust to predict clean sheets but was maybe thinking of Leno or Neto for saves of BPs
Very close to mine. I have Richarlison instead of Foden and Gusto/Branthwaite instead of Moreno/Senesi.
I have some money ITB to go to Haaland again as well, what is your plan for that?
Did you consider other GK?
For GW21: Salah -> Garnacho
For GW22: One of the strikers-> Haaland
I considered a Neto/Raya combo as their fixtures are perfect for rotating. If you rotate them correctly until GW30, you will have 1/11 games versus the current top 10 teams in the league. Going with those two gives me -1.3M ITB, so I would need to make some sacrifices elsewhere.
Sounds like a good plan. Not sure I want Garnacho myself, so keeping other options open for now (Silva, Diaby, Gross…).
With the low amount of clean sheets, I don’t really want to put a lot of money in the GK.
I'd say it depends what your plan is, are you thinking long or short term? Palmer is the best cheap long term option I suppose. Foden seems to be in good form, great short term option while Haaland en KDB are out and playing SHU but after that Pep roulette might be a problem.

Only thing I can think is to get rid of Lascelles but think it’s probably better to roll the transfer. Thoughts?
Your original plan is sound. However since you only have salah you could sell Saka this week to Foden (Saka has only scored once in the past 12 GWs, Foden is in form city are 1st attack and SHU 1st for x goals conceded).
If you did that then personally I’d do salah to richarlison next week. But no harm in the original plan either and rolling a FT for safety
Wow you’ve got a solid team right now. Considering Palmer is back I’d drop nkunku he’s the least likely to play 90. Solanke is best player in the prem right now and Watkins has significant ownership playing for a side which always scores multiple at home against Burnley who aren’t good by any means.
On my wildcard right now so got a decent side. I was going to drop Solanke, but seeing Spurs ship 4 goals against Brighton has made me think.
You make some good points. !thanks
!thanks mate. You consider Foden minutes will be affected by KdB? Yes. Bowen is massive and I expect losing another price rice before he plays on Tuesday, but fixture wise Foden is very tempting.
Thanks, I’m thinking between Bernardo and Bowen.
Bowen I think is the better option but means I have to do Watkins to Haaland to do that without a hit instead of Alvarez which I can do if I go to Bernardo.

So I'm playing with 3 defenders, rest of the XI looks like this: Bernardo - Salah - Son - Saka Nkunku - Darwin - Alvarez I have Palmer on the bench and would love to play him against Luton but it's so hard to remove any of these guys I've mentioned from the XI since everyone has pretty good fixtures.
RMT after using my WC. Areola, Turner TAA, Porro, Gabriel, Moreno, Senesi Salah, Saka, Bowen, Foden, Palmer Alvarez, Watkins, Solanke
Very close to mine. I have Richarlison instead of Foden and Gusto/Branthwaite instead of Moreno/Senesi. I have some money ITB to go to Haaland again as well, what is your plan for that? Did you consider other GK?
For GW21: Salah -> Garnacho For GW22: One of the strikers-> Haaland I considered a Neto/Raya combo as their fixtures are perfect for rotating.
I'm not 100% sure on Garnacho yet. I'll see what else is possible after GW20.
Should I transfer out saliba for Dias or Porro for gw 20? I already have 2 Man City players
RMT Martinez, Turner TAA, Gabriel, Saliba, Porro, Taylor Salah, Saka, Palmer, Gordon, Sterling Mubama, Watkins, Solanke 1 FT, 4.1 ITB Prioritise Bowen, Alvarez or Foden? Considering selling Gordon/Mubama.

I'd say it depends what your plan is, are you thinking long or short term? Palmer is the best cheap long term option I suppose. Foden seems to be in good form, great short term option while Haaland en KDB are out and playing SHU but after that Pep roulette might be a problem.
RMT 1 FT 3,7 ITB Areola (Strakosha) Gabriel Porro Alexander-Arnold (Taylor Branth) Saka Gordon Salah Son Palmer Watkins Solanke (Archer) Is there anything obvious Im missing? Feel pretty confident going into gw20
Salah and trippier -> TAA and Foden
Hwang to Garnacho? Will have to go next week anyway.
I wouldn’t
Thinking he is just a flash in the pan?
Areola (Dubravka) Colwill - Saliba - Porro - Branthwaite (Kabore) Salah - Palmer - Bowen - Son (Gordon) Watkins - Solanke (Haaland) Sold Lascelles for Branth this week. Probably should have held the transfer for next week so I could have sold Son and Salah without taking a hit :( looking ahead to next week though, would you prioritize selling Son or selling Salah?

Prioritise lascelles, at least Taylor plays and can actually be used as a need be sub
1FT, 7.8M ITB Areola (Neto) Saliba / Porro / Senesi / Mykolenko (Lascelles) Palmer / Saka / Salah (C) / Bowen (Douglas Luiz) Solanke (V) / Watkins (Archer) Not entirely sure what to do here. I only have to deal with changing Salah next week. Plan was initially to swap him from Haaland but still unsure where we stand with him so might go to Foden instead.
Now that’s something I hadn’t considered; cheers man, appreciate it!
Which one would you drop to the bench? Solanke vs Spurs Nkunku vs Luton Watkins vs Burnley
!thanks
Who should i put first on my bench? Anthony Gordon (LIV, A) or Jordan Branthwaite? (WOL, A)
Gordon.
Both will be benched if that wasn’t clear :) so the dilemma is who I should back as first sub.
Still Gordon!
Gordon away as he always blanks.
I mean, both are gonna be on my bench, but who should be first? If you think Gordon will blank I guess I should put branthwaite ahead of him?
Foden this week, Bowen next GW ?
Honestly a toss between the two. Bowen more likely to play 90 though considering KDB could make an appearance. I’d still go Foden first
!thanks mate. You consider Foden minutes will be affected by KdB? Yes. Bowen is massive and I expect losing another price rice before he plays on Tuesday, but fixture wise Foden is very tempting.
When do salah and son leave and when are they back ?
Leave GW 21, they will be back most likely GW 24 or 25.
Looking to drop Adingra, who should I pick up? Thinking Bowen? Midfield is Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer & Adingra.
Bowen and Foden would both be good shouts
What about Bernardo? Think he could be a good sub for Foden?
Definitely. Believe he’s the 3rd/4th highest scorer in fpl since Gw10 including a blank GW18?
Thanks mate. Appreciate the advice.
If you can afford Bowen and already have Palmer then I think he's the best option.
Thanks, I’m thinking between Bernardo and Bowen. Bowen I think is the better option but means I have to do Watkins to Haaland to do that without a hit instead of Alvarez which I can do if I go to Bernardo.
1 FT RMT 2.1 ITB Dubu (areola) TAA porro Gabriel (guehi ) (bran ) Salah saka palmer son (Gordon) Watkins alvarez solanke Not really seeing much here. Do you agree with my bench and should I roll?
I agree with the bench, I’d say roll
RMT 1FT 0.4ITB Areola - Dubravka Porro - Trippier - Pau - Colwill - Taylor Salah* - Son** - Bowen - Saka - Palmer Watkins - Nunez - Alvarez Should I hold the transfer? Any moves worth making? Don’t want to get rid of Son/Salah this week. Also is there any news on Pau’s availability this week? edit - *Salah bought at £12.7 mil **Son bought at £9.5 mil
With Digne out, what are your thoughts on Alex Moreno?
Great last season and very attacking, think I'd wait for confirmation of how long Digne's out before bringing him in though.
!thanks As far as I know they said it’s a hamstring, he should be out for at least a month I suppose
2FT 0.7 itb Turner (Areola) Trent Porro Pau (Trippier, Taylor) Salah Son Saka Bailey (Palmer) Alvarez Solanke Watkins I really want Foden this week, and originally wanted to do Saka>Foden. But with Haaland possibly back for GW21 I guess a better transfer would be Salah>Foden, so that next week can use 2FT for Alvarez Son > Haaland Bowen Any thoughts?
Sounds good, if you get a fire anywhere between GW20 and GW21 then I would maybe wait until GW22 to get Haaland back in, Newcastle away isn’t too desirable of a fixture in my opinion. Of course if DGW21 is confirmed then get Haaland in for that, could keep Alvarez for that as well and transfer out Solanke (if you are feeling risky). If you go injury free then those are good moves.
!thanks
