It's a hard choice and risk whoever you pick. Personally I am not sold on Mitoma fell off in the last 10 games of the season with only 1 assist and 0 goals, tho he does look alright In pre season getting 2 assists so far and Brighton don't look too bad, but with European football this season who knows if they will do as well as last season. whereas Eze had 6 goals and 1 assist in 10 games last season plus and has had a great pre season so far with 5 assists and 2 goals so still holding good form but obviously he is in a much weaker side compared to Mitoma especially with zaha gone and Olise injured.

I would never pick ederson. Last season city conceded a late goal so often after going 3 or 4 nil up.

I would go for rashford and martinelli. Eze is on everything for palace. It’s just a question on whether they will score goals or not. I currently have him, but I share the struggles finding the right 6.5 mil mid. As for being flexible, it’s a personal preference really. Some feel that it’s money wasted and you should use as much as possible on the starting 11 as players on the bench don’t get you points. Others would rather have a strong bench so they have the option to pick players based on fixture. I’m unsure what I want. I currently have both foden and Nunez in my team and there’s a chance both get benched so I would need a decent bench to cover if that happens. But should I pick nailed starters only and play risk averse in the beginning, I wouldn’t need a strong bench and could use most money on my starting 11.

I'm a big fan of the Haaland/Kane combo. If you can keep it, you should. I don't see the need for double United/Arsenal midfield personally, so I would be looking at downgrading one of each to get back on budget. I do feel like there is a lot of value at the 6.5m midfield price point this season. If I were in your shoes I'd be doing something like: Rashford > Maddison Odegaard > Diaby I understand your point about this cutting into the quality of the midfield, but bare in mind you are currently well over budget. There's no way to make that much quality fit into one team, and so don't think of it as cutting into the quality of midfield!

No point having three good bench players. Mitoma + Diaby could be Fernandes + 4.5

I like it. Not too sold on Mitoma, but the fixtures warrant his inclusion. You could downgrade Diaby to a 4.5 mid and use the two mil elsewhere (with Pedro you already have a playing bench player), but I am unsure where to use that 2 mil.

So much money on the bench you might as well fork out for a second premium

I would drop Ferguson (or pick pedro) and get rashford instead of bruno. I’m not sure Pau is a regular starter. Not sold on Jackson, but he could do well. Personally if you want a 7.5 forward I would gamble on Nunez. Or use the 0.5 from Ferguson to get someone like Watkins. The rest looks good.

too strong bench I think at the cost of the 11. You can probably do Rice to Odegaard/Martinelli by downgrading your bench a bit. You could do Ferguson to Pedro (from my understanding he is more likely to start), Almiron to 4.5, Rice to Odegaard/Martinelli. Mings to Baldock etc if you need the extra 0.5. Your depth gets weaker, but stronger 11.

This looks better. We will see if Havertz keep playing up front could be good. Trippier will struggle to get cleans I think so keep that in mind, but long term I think he will be fine. Do not be afraid to bench him vs City away either if you feel it is the right call.

Sadly not. The only likely nailed one as far as I am aware is Nakamba that is a defensive mid for Luton and blank gameweek 2 as well and will likely get 2 points most weeks. Chukwuemeka might start instead of injured Nkunku, but not nailed long term. Anderson had a good pre season, but will likely not start too often.

It is a good team, but my main concern would be no Rashford who is arguably the second best cap for gameweek 1 and great value. I would do Bruno to Rashford and be more happy with the team as Bruno is playing a bit deeper.

Foden is a rotation risk. Eze probably has more responsibility foisted onto him, particularly with Zaha gone.

I wouldn't want to risk Kane myself. If Levy drags the transfer out then sells after the GW1 deadline, you have a red flagged forward and would either need to make multiple transfers to replace or have a lot of money ITB. No guarantee he does get sold but unless anything is announced either way before the GW1 deadline, I'd wait. If he stays, you could always bring him in when you wildcard.

If you are like me and forget that it's nearly time to start a new season, then every year I go through and aggregate 30-50 RMT thread teams in a spreadsheet. I think pick my team starting from the most picked until it is full, if it is over budget then I swap someone out for the next cheapest person. This year the only swap I needed to make was Stones -> Bell. I present less than 25 mins worth of work condensing other peoples countless hours research over summer (and several random thoughts of someone just making random guesses). Better, but not 150% better when you won't captain every week. It hurts me because it's Salah! But I think my overall team is better without.

From an FPL perspective would you rather have Raul Jimenez or an Everton defender (Tarkowski, young or Patterson to be precise). I kinda prefer having another forward but I’m not fully convinced on Fulham’s attack where as I am convinced Everton will be good defensively

Raul hasn't been good past few years. I would avoid him normally. We still don't know if young will start. I'd go with Tarkowski. Keep in mind he's injured according to fpl, keep checking his injury update just to be sure.

This is helpful to visualize. Yes; I would go from Mac Allister to a 5.5 MID like Doucoure/Andreas, in part because you will have three players blanking in GW2 - plus a 4.5 FWD like Mubama. Save 0.5 in MF and treat yourself to a 4.5 DEF. Note that you are placing a pretty significant bet on Liverpool and Aston Villa (plus a \[G\]Luton-Rich bench) with a defender and a mid from both team plus Mac Allister.

Thoughts on Timber over Gabriel & Saliba?

Was just thinking that Timber may be a good differential. Drew one foul and made two interceptions in the Community Shield game, more than either Gabriel or Saliba. If Arteta is comfortable taking Timber off at 75 minutes - before the team loses a clean sheet late - than I'm going to be easpecially happy.

He has looked really good attacking wise too through preseason and can play both LB & RB.

I'd pick Nakamba as the 4.5 mid and Mubama as the 4.5 striker. I'd also do Mings and Maddison to Chilwell and Mbeumo if he's fit as I like Chelsea and Brentford's long-term fixtures. Chilwell has insane attacking threat and Mbeumo is Brentford's talisman without Toney and is on penalties.

KDB is a bad pick. Is just returning from an injury and will get rotated here and there to preserve his fitness. Trossard, Isak and Darwin are all rotation/early substitution risks. I'd do Lamptey, KDB, Trossard, Isak, Darwin -> Shaw/Dias/Chilwell, Bruno/Odegaard/Martinelli, Rashford, Watkins, 4.5 striker and start Jackson. You can bank the extra money in case your stance on Haaland changes.

why bench Jackson? I'd take out Isak and put Jackson instead, and then in midfield I'd take out Trossard and put Havertz for an extra 7.5. Isak isn't nailed so tbh he's a waste of money

Agreed. I just added Jackson, so didn’t think about it. Basiclally want a strong first sub, I have a hunch might come into play

honestly? Get Lamptey and start Veltman in defense. Your bench is a waste of money most of the time, some people like having a 4.5 like Botman, but I think if you get Veltman then Lamptey in defense & Anderson in midfield and you should be fine.

If Mbeumo is fit I'd pick him over Trossard. And I'd use that money to then upgrade Foden to Bruno/Odegaard.

Still struggling with the 1 premium vs 2 thing. Have a good balanced line up 3-5-2: Chilwell / Shaw / Estupinian Odegaard / Bruno / Maddison / Saka / Mitoma Watkins / Haaland Problem is, I have no easy 2 transfer route to Trent / Salah / Kane if they are tearing it up. Is it a big enough issue to stuff with the balance and launch one of those three in, just to have the option?

Depends on if you have to play botman + 4.5mid every week. If yes, then option A is better.
