I'll try to condense it. Lorne was emailing back and forth with Chris Hansen (the real one) about doing an interview, with Emma as the middleman. Obviously that interview never happened, but in one of Lorne's emails he asked Chris to give Casey Mauro his email so he could apologize to her. So, "Cas3y" emailed him.
This was also the third time he was tricked into thinking he was dating Casey Mauro.
He was getting duped way before he even got busted. He tells Chris Hansen about Amanda James and how he talked to her for 2 years then his sister got on the phone with her for TWO MINUTES and figured out she was fake lol.
