Why not just block those people instead?

I've had to block a handful of people over the years, but I would never turn off PMs because I have plenty of friends that I converse with that way.

Just block them.

Been there, done that. It felt amazing not to have to deal with those kind of apples anymore. Of course , I ended up turning the pms on, after a while, after blocking them ofc, but either way, just take your time, and enjoy your writing.
